You know what? I pulled that out when “Batman Begins” came out and was too intense to take my son to. It fulfilled the purpose of telling Batman’s backstory, had cool clebs doing voices (the aforementioned Mark Hammill, plus Abe Vigoda, and the lovely Dana Delaney) and a well-scripted plot. It sure worked for my son.

I didn’t think much of “The Killing Joke”.

The Joker in this trailer doesnt strike me as the real deal, but I’ll keep an open mind.

Are you crazy? What if you turn off the torch? Etc. I felt it was okay, but after all the hype it seemed no more or less than another origin retelling.

I was hoping the Joker would be closer to the version in The Dark Knight Returns, i.e. David Bowie’s Thin White Duke mixed with Joel Grey from Cabaret. But he seems to be more like The Crow. Shame.

That’s why my son and I keep handy the Adam West/Burt Ward “Batman” movie with all the classic baddies played by Gorshin, Romero and Meredith and a one-time Catwoman turn by Lee Meriwether. There’s just nothing like dialogue like “Some days you just can’t get rid of a bomb!” (or, “Robin, hand down the Bat Anti-Shark Repellent!”) I mean, come on!

I can live with that. The Romero Joker was a product of the times. The Nicholson Joker was Jack Nicholson. This looks different, and really, really creepy.

If Ledger is being inspired by The Killing Joke, then it could well be worth price of admission to see another fully realized, non campy Batman bad guy. Ras was good start. The Joker should be incredible.

Headquaters, Charlie 3-11. 10-4, 10-73 (crazy person) on the Hot Air blog. I’m gonna need a medic and a supervisor on scene.

I mean, a lot of people loved Christian Bale as Batman, but there’s barely any mention of his name this time around. The posters, the marketing campaign, the “viral” stuff: it’s all Joker.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

Apparently, you can stick a raging leftist in a superhero costume and have him pummel some bad guys and I’ll like it.

Daredevil has serious issues yet they made him cheesy.

But no movie sucked worse than Elektra. I mean she is not even a serious comic character…

I think I know how this movie will end. About like how the last ones with the same characters, plot and storyline ended from the last one.

I didn’t realize that anyone had actually ever watched Daredevil. Anyone who made it past the first fifteen minutes has my respect…and condolences.

OK, believe it or not… I was thinking about this earlier today: I’ve discovered I just really dig watching people dodge things in slo-mo. (Dodgeball excepted.)

Daredevil dodged a lot of stuff; it’s what he does. So I liked that. Spiderman did some cool slo-mo dodging in the burning building in Spider-Man. And, of course, the rooftop scene in The Matrix made a nation fall in love with dodging things in really slo-mo.

Speaking of – ‘Legend’ sucked. Had to watch ‘Omega Man’ when I got home to get the bad taste out of my brain.

Back to the topic on-hand – doesn’t this Joker look a lot like the Crow?
