The Glacier broke the Democrat picket line against Fox News Channel this morning and appeared on Fox & Friends for the first time in the program’s 11-year history. Her appearance on Fox might have something to do with the polls, and might be a show of desperation in the face of the Obama surge. I’ll have a bit more of the interview edited to post here in a bit, but for now, here’s the Hillary cackle to end all Hillary cackles. Bill wishes, anyway.
Update: Here’s an edit of the interview. There is a second cackle, plus the odd line that if elected, Clinton will appoint qualified people to “some” government positions. But not all, I guess. Also, note the steel in her voice in the line “I will be president.” Resistance is futile.
Update: If I get a vote, the experiment in unveiling Clinton’s “likability” is a flop.
New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, trying to warm up an image some voters perceive as cold, starts a drive Monday to showcase her personal side with testimonials from friends, associates and constituents she has helped.
The online and in-person campaign, complete with a website called TheHillaryIKnow.com, comes a day after Clinton won a key endorsement from The Des Moines Register and her chief rival in the Democratic nomination race, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, was endorsed by The Boston Globe.
Fundamentals here: If you have to get reporters to write stories about your “likability,” you’re not actually all that likable.
Update: Johnny Dollar has the entire Hillacackle interview posted here.

She really must be desperate if appearing on Fox. I saw the interview this morning. Her skin looks better.

Appearing on Fox…man, those polls must really be nasty. Crossing picket lines, and appearing on Fox…desperate is too mild of a word.

Sounds like she laid an egg.

That sound is a simulation of laughter. Like some alien life form who has never before encountered laughter, and is trying to copy it and pass as human.

I’ve never seen that Fox news show before. They don’t seem to ask real questions.

I saw some of this this morning. Her answer to combat terrorists is to revamp FEMA. I don’t know if that particular exchange is covered in yur video, (can’t view it from work)but another HUHHHHH moment.

Did anyone catch the white eyeshadow smeared all around her eyes? It was smeared above and below. Maybe Miss Ice Queen went skiing and has snow goggle eyes.
Dunno, don’t care.

Did I hear her right? Now she’s claiming not 8, but 35 years’ presidential experience.
Can you imagine anything like this coming from Laura, Barbara, Lady Bird, Rosalyn, Pat…
If she’s managed anything beyond HillaryCare and Bimbo Eruptions, she’d unlock the documents that might show it.

Apparently everyone’s make-up looks like arse on Fox.
By the by, I like the channel.

Good grief! That cackle sends shivers down your spine, doesn’t it?
Almost makes me feel sorry for old Bill. Well, almost.

Second clip….there it is…she is counting on the big guys to put her in. Same in the general. Who needs Missouri, Kansas, Wyoming, and Rhode Island when you have New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. Yep….her plan is to be the President of the United City States.
Limerick on December 17, 2007 at 9:31 AM
So, uh…what I take from that answer is there’s no need to worry about terrorists before they attack, she’ll just wait until they do and then rely on FEMA to do a heckuva job helping everybody that’s been blown up. Great.

Gosh gee willikers, she’s so authentic, I don’t know why people think she’s a ruthless power-hungry demanding bitch.
Golly! She’s funny!
DUH!

Perfect. Cue the bit where Schroeder plays the rinky-dink toy piano version of Jingle Bells and Lucy yells, THAT’S IT!
Seriously: what’s the easiest way to find audio clips of Hillary? I’d like to — seriously — run them through a spectral analyzer and find the frequency at which her voice resonates in my pain receptors. She gets going and her voice rises to its top pitch, and then she just gets louder.
There was a news story a couple months back about deeper voices (e.g., Fred!) having a political advantage, so I’m not the only one who’s interested.
saint kansas on December 17, 2007 at 9:34 AM
I think the first are people the Don Clinton has blackmail on, the second are henchman, and the final category is plants.
How much is someone willing to bet that one of the constituents she showcases is a Black man who worries about Obama’s authenticity but is glad to be voting for the first black female President?
Any takers?

A huge belly-

I get the feeling from the Democrat side that being President is just some thing to be acquired like a trophy, or in her case, a large profit from insider information.
I don’t she respects the US government anyway, she’s of the leftist mindset that it’s a vile construct.
There’s never any reverence in her voice for the office of the President.

Oh, and BTW…I caught the segment live when it aired, and it was preceded by a similar segment with Fred.

I know it is unfair to hold women candidates to higher grooming standards than men but, geeze, her makeup was hideous. As usual, I’m some what of an oracle…. I emailed the guys to let them know that she’d be on about an hour before she was, stating simply:
Of course, it’s really not much of a prediction… She brings it everywhere now. You’d think her advisers would have told her to stop. Clearly they told her to laugh to seem like a real person, back when she unleashed an entire Sunday of cackles on all the Sunday shows a couple months ago, but we’ve continued to hear it since. And obviously on Fox she’d be nervous and also trying her hardest to be “nice”, knowing it’s not a friendly audience. That cackle was pretty much the first thing out of her mouth after exchanging pleasantries.
RightWinged on December 17, 2007 at 9:51 AM
Ah, here it is… a full screen of Bin Laden and CNN asks “Where’s Obama?”
http://hotair.com/archives/2007/01/01/question-of-the-day/
And here was Yahoo! captioning a photo of Obama with “Osama bin laden and al-Qaida”
http://hotair.com/archives/2007/01/03/yahoo-captions-obama-photo-with-osama/
I know there are other examples (again, aside from drunk Uncle Ted).
The funny part about all of this, is the left has always whined about the right trying to smear him by linking his name to Osama and Saddam Hussein, etc. etc. But the examples continue to come from lefty MSM outlets.

The sanctimony of Hillary Clinton is breathtaking. Only about two months ago, Hillary thought she would win with ease so she said to an audience: “I am so proud of the way my campaign manager Howard Wolfson stood up to O’Reilly…”.
Well, if O’Reilly was so bad, why did Wolfson go on The Factor with O’Reilly? And Wolfson hardly “stood up to O’Reilly”. It was a friendly interview and most of the time it was just two old pals joking around. Wolfson has been on O’Reilly many times and is always treated respectfully and usually just jokes around with O’Reilly. Yet when Hillary Clinton talked to her audience, she made it seem that Wolfson had gotten into a dogfight with O’Reilly and left O’Reilly in tatters.
Now that Hillary desperately needs to make her case in Iowa and will take any audience she can get, she is suddenly back on Fox and everything is peaches and cream.
Maybe tomorrow Hillary will be a guest on Hannity and Colmes and she will refer to Mr. Hannity as “Sean”.

Ya know, clenis says that if hil can just get more exposure people will warm up to her.
But she’s like a vampire and greater exposure (and that wicked witch of the north industrial strength cackle) will wind up destroying her.
I hope she gets LOTS of screen time. Just like she stuck her foot in her cackling mouth in the last debate, she just can’t help herself. That viscious vindictive core of her being is going to show. Not possible to hide it.

techno_barbarian on December 17, 2007 at 10:27 AM
Okay, I thought the “Hill-acopter” thing was just a joke someone made on the Ron Paul blimp thread. She really is flying around in a black helicopter?! Next, Edwards will start riding around in a short school bus and McCain will make his campaign stops in a tank painted red white and blue.

techno_barbarian on December 17, 2007 at 10:34 AM
I’m sorry but for Hillary Clinton to come off as warm and likeable she has to actually be, well, warm and likeable.
What is most interesting to me is how quickly her “supporters” are jumping ship now that there is a sense of vulnerability in her campaign. The pundits who just a few weeks ago were still talking about her inevitable nomination are now questioning her ability to beat a three-year Senate veteran with absolutely zero experience in foreign affairs.
highhopes on December 17, 2007 at 10:35 AM

Not that it’s important, but i certainly noticed it. I thought it was light blue eye shadow at first, but then I thought it must be that concealer stuff that has a blue tinge. It was awful! And she had way too much blush on as well. She usually doesn’t make mistakes like this.

Earlier this year I happened to hear a speech from a dem strategist guy named Lackoff, evidently some guru on the left, and the he said the dems don’t really want Hillary anymore. They appreciate her past service, yada yada, but it’s time for fresh blood. There’s a lot of lawyer money behind edwards, but they REALLY want obama.
Cackling Cankles isn’t the inevitable dem choice.

Guess I wasn’t the only one who noticed she bought her own canned laughter to Fox. What a fake! Anyone else notice the overdone orange blush on her cheeks ?… lipstick on a pig so to speak.
heroyalwhyness on December 17, 2007 at 10:48 AM
As we’ve established before, Hillary’s cackle is her “tell.” She does it when she’s nervous or uncomfortable. Her cackle should be music to our ears–it means she’s stumbling badly.
(I’m being rhetorical, of course. That “laugh” of hers is horrifying. I’m just pointing out that its root cause is actually reassuring. Might make it more tolerable for the time being.)
aero on December 17, 2007 at 10:48 AM
I thought she made one, but apparently she made two trips to China for women’s rights conferences, right? She made a point of those at one of the debates, so that accounts for, like, three or four days of the 35 years.
They also accomplished nothing but meant well, so it’s a perfect liberal credential.
saint kansas on December 17, 2007 at 10:57 AM
I’m with Rush in hoping that Laura Bush will jump into the race with her eight years of experience in the White House and four plus years as first lady of Texas. ;-0
Seriously, I’m not complaining but Hillary doesn’t do herself any favors when she claims all this “experience” because nobody is buying it. From a strategic point, she’d do better to focus on her education and actual credentials instead of bogus logic about how logging rack time at 1600 Penn. Ave is the same thing as being co-President.

Gretchen Carlson and Steve Doocy asked Clinton useless questions and allowed her to spin on and on without challenging her in any way. fogw on December 17, 2007 at 3:27 PM
It amazes me, from a purely strategic standpoint, that she seems to think her laugh is just fine.
Does she even listen to herself?
The continuing use of this blood curdling, ridiculous laugh defies all reason.
Even SNL made fun of it, for crying out loud.
The final line of today’s column from Dick Morris sums it up quite nicely:
“Hillary’s experience has been limited to the insider back biting of Washington where she is an expert at using her secret police — a small army of private detectives — to unearth negatives about her or Bill’s opponents. (Even former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young recently admitted that Hillary ran the effort to discredit women who might come forward and accuse Clinton of misconduct.) But, when it comes to campaigning, advertising and winning an election, these folks and this candidate don’t have a clue.”
Indeed.

Listen: never underestimate the Clintons and what they are willing to do to get back into the White House. The fact that she is willing to go on Fox makes her look reasonable. The laugh, though canned, is still a laugh. And she wants to lower expectations for Iowa so that she can be the “Comeback Kid”, the underdog, just like BJ before her. I tremble, not so much for her being in the WH (though that thought is terrible!), but I tremble at the thought of reprobate Bill trolling the halls looking for fresh meat. Bush should have thrown out that sink in the oval office washroom as his first act as president!
gajaw999 on December 17, 2007 at 4:18 PM
Steve Doocy reminds me alot of the Chauncey Gardner character from the movie “Being There”. Doocy interviewing Hillary Clinton is a little like Gomer Pyle interviewing Goober Pyle.
Larraby on December 17, 2007 at 4:29 PM
To who?
1. Fox’s normal viewing audience will not find anything remotely reasonable about the Hildebeast. They saw her performance as the circus act it was.
2. People who would be inclined to think her appearance came off as reasonable, never tune in to the evil Fox News channel, so she never reached her potential voting block who know exactly what they are getting anyway. Cackles and make-up do not a kind princess make.
3. Hillary went on Fox to look like the gal next door. She failed miserably. She’s as transparent as air itself.
She’s the 300 lb gorilla next door. Just ask anyone who’s crossed her, and still breathing.
Hang in there gajaw999, she’s only seen tracer fire so far. Wait till she runs in the general.
fogw on December 17, 2007 at 4:42 PM
I hope that Hillary appears on as many shows as possible. She says reasonable things, but her tone and body language are all wrong for someone who claims to be authentic.
I am convinced that she will sink like a rock as more persons begin to pay attention to her. Obama may be raw and not ready for the presidency (as Bill clinton rightly claims, although he sounds like a self-serving a** for stating the obvious), but he is real and appears to have a fundamental decency lacking in her royal highness.
