It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and not just to those little girls. Like Slublog says, sappy but irresistible. Click the image to watch.

Guess I’m a sap. It brought tears to my eyes. :-)
aero on December 14, 2007 at 1:56 PM
Brings tears to my eyes.
The way that little girl hugs Daddy is just precious.
Andy in Agoura Hills on December 14, 2007 at 1:58 PM
Yeah, I figure if you choke up…you have no soul.
Slublog on December 14, 2007 at 1:58 PM
Whoops…meant if you don’t choke up.
Slublog on December 14, 2007 at 1:59 PM
I teared up, that’s for sure. The look on the smaller girl’s face is beyond description.
Mr. Bingley on December 14, 2007 at 2:01 PM
How wonderful!
CP on December 14, 2007 at 2:01 PM

Ok you got me. The look on the little girl’s face was priceless.
peski on December 14, 2007 at 2:02 PM
Great. Now my coworkers are looking at me funny because I’m sitting here teary-eyed. Thanks!
CookeyD on December 14, 2007 at 2:03 PM
Yeah, I was about to be all snarky and say, “Well, I guess I have no soul,” but then I watched it. Very sweet.
Farmer_Joe on December 14, 2007 at 2:04 PM
Hehe. All those crying, emotional, souless, heartless bastards!
Zetterson on December 14, 2007 at 2:05 PM
That never gets old.
Speakup on December 14, 2007 at 2:06 PM

a great Christmas memory, but right now they

is just great.
canopfor on December 14, 2007 at 2:07 PM

MadisonConservative on December 14, 2007 at 2:07 PM
That’s three today! Somebody FedEx me some Kleenex!
RushBaby on December 14, 2007 at 2:09 PM
[blinking rapidly] That little girl’s face with her wide open eyes staring up at her daddy in disbelief…priceless.
Redhead Infidel on December 14, 2007 at 2:10 PM
Watch the guy who wheeled the “present” in walk away. It’s obvious that he’s wiping his eyes too.
baldilocks on December 14, 2007 at 2:10 PM
What a way to start my Christmas vacation. I’m crying. Thanks, thanks a freakin’ lot! Sniff, sniff…
robblefarian on December 14, 2007 at 2:11 PM
Always a good thing to see.
abinitioadinfinitum on December 14, 2007 at 2:12 PM

Bawling, here
ToddonCapeCod on December 14, 2007 at 2:16 PM
If that doesn’t bring a tear to your eye or a smile to your face, you’re truly a Grinch. Or maybe a Democrat.
flipflop on December 14, 2007 at 2:16 PM
I knew what was coming and still teared up, especially when the girl said, “Daddy.”
Esthier on December 14, 2007 at 2:18 PM
Very sweet. The little one’s big eyes, and the big one’s “Daddy!” The Big A getting the Christmas spirit today.
KelliD on December 14, 2007 at 2:18 PM
Joe’s sporting a Special Forces patch. I hope there’s a similar package outside a cave somewhere in Pakistan.
BohicaTwentyTwo on December 14, 2007 at 2:19 PM
Remember Truth or Consequences, the 60’s game show hosted by Bob Barker. I clearly remember that they routinely flew GI”s home from Nam and surprised their wives and loved ones by hiding them in boxes, behind curtains, etc. Always lots of tears all around.
DrW on December 14, 2007 at 2:23 PM
It that made you cry, do not even think about watching this soldier surprises his kid video from March.
You will be crying like John Murtha hearing there are no more tax dollars available for earmarks.
I am warning you… do not do it.
AndrewsDad on December 14, 2007 at 2:24 PM
That was just beautiful, Man.
Hope they have a wonderful, merry Christmas!
tickleddragon on December 14, 2007 at 2:24 PM
What a great Christmas gift for those two girls. I saw it coming and still managed to tear up.
alilianstrom on December 14, 2007 at 2:26 PM
I remember that. Thank goodness I’m not wearing eye makeup today!!
tickleddragon on December 14, 2007 at 2:27 PM
I can’t get the video to play.
Is it an HDTV?
I think it’s an HDTV.
saint kansas on December 14, 2007 at 2:27 PM
Choked me up.
God bless our troops and their families.
Talon on December 14, 2007 at 2:30 PM
Wait, Matthew Wilder? You should’ve known ain’t nuthin gonna break his stride… to get home to his family.
What? Too obscure?
ScottMcC on December 14, 2007 at 2:38 PM
My vision is suddenly blurred…
D2Boston on December 14, 2007 at 2:44 PM
A co-worker was on the red-eye from California today and said all the soldiers on his flight were put in first class, and when they touched down the pilot asked that the civilians let the soldiers de-plane first, which they did after giving them a standing ovation.
God bless our troops.
Retread on December 14, 2007 at 2:47 PM
That was very nice.
Though I couldn’t help thinking that it would’ve been funny if he let out a big loud “RAWWR” when they opened it to scare them a bit first.
Hollowpoint on December 14, 2007 at 3:04 PM
Retread@2:47 – that makes me tear up too. I’ve said to the airlines and on blog sites – if there is one seat or 10 left in first class they need to give those seats up to military personnel. Those poor guys/girls are so tired and beat-up from travel it’s the least the airlines can do. Would love to know which airline, they’d get my business.
As far as the pkg. and little girls – mercy. Need to move the box of Kleenex closer.
24K lady on December 14, 2007 at 3:04 PM
God these darn glasses.
tomas on December 14, 2007 at 3:08 PM
…and kudos to the school for helping arrange it. I’m sure they could have come up with all kinds of excuses not to do it had they wanted.
taznar on December 14, 2007 at 3:33 PM
God bless our troops and their families who sacrifice so much for all of us.
BobK on December 14, 2007 at 3:33 PM
andrewsdad,
I saw that one too. I posted one where a Marine comes into the school gym where his two daughters are. I cannot find it though! But it really made me cry cuz the Marine made a speech and got choked up. Then it showed one of the daughters singing with her class “God bless America” and she is wiping away tears and a classmate puts her hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Man.
Rightwingsparkle on December 14, 2007 at 3:45 PM
Brought some tears to the eyes of this former Hockey player “goon”.
God bless em’!

Aggie85 on December 14, 2007 at 4:00 PM
Excuse me. I, um…..ahem…..I seem to have something caught in my eye. Yeah. That’s it. Just…..something in my eye.

That was AWESOME!!!!!!!!
;-)
Pachyderm on December 14, 2007 at 4:36 PM
I’m a sucker for this stuff…aren’t we all.
Hey, maybe Hillary can say she can’t make the next debate, and do the same trick…she needs a gimmick a week to keep those numbers up.
right2bright on December 14, 2007 at 4:38 PM
That stuff kills me.
TheSitRep on December 14, 2007 at 4:39 PM
Daddy’s girls. Thanks for posting that.

Texyank on December 14, 2007 at 5:20 PM
I feel kind of bad that they did it in front of all the kids at school. You know there’s at least one kid in the audience who didn’t get that present this year. :(
askheaves on December 14, 2007 at 5:20 PM
OK, so maybe the one I conspired on wasn’t as clever, but it was still pretty darn sweet, if I do say so myself.

I’m in tears. I’m so happy for those little girls.
What more could they really want when all is said and done?
Mommynator on December 14, 2007 at 5:32 PM
I guarantee that a school in California would never allow those reunions to happen. How wonderful for these families.
Winebabe on December 14, 2007 at 5:33 PM
Freakin Awesome!!!!
where’s my kleenex….
mrfixit on December 14, 2007 at 5:35 PM
Even though I know what’s coming when I see the big box, it makes me tear up every single time.
JustTruth101 on December 14, 2007 at 5:46 PM
When that little girl said “Daaaddy”…..

Happiness and Joy. Perfect. Thanks.
Zorro on December 14, 2007 at 7:41 PM
Alrighty then!! How cool was that?!
sonnyspats1 on December 14, 2007 at 7:50 PM
Geez.
I just did one of those sob/gasps. The kind you do when you don’t want others to know you’re choked up.
Merry Christmas to that man and his family.
Eh, what the hell.
Merry Christmas to you all!

“Who wouldn’t cry at that”
Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton…
StuLongIsland on December 14, 2007 at 11:12 PM
It was a great video, as was the one of the Sailor coming home…and I’m TRYING VERY HARD not to ruin it by thinking of Pelosi and her thugs blocking funding for these same guys.
…or what Murtha, Turbin, Kennedy, Kerry and the rest of that treasonous bunch has said and done over the past few years.
91Veteran on December 15, 2007 at 12:42 AM
Daughters missing and loving their father. Even that’s something you don’t see reported every day, a positive Dad story.
hadsil on December 15, 2007 at 3:15 AM
Hoo-ah! He’s my hero, along with every other American who’s worn the uniform.
Mojave Mark on December 15, 2007 at 11:14 AM
Watched all posted (had seen the one of the little boy earlier). Gotta stop, tho’, ’cause I’m runnin’ out of Kleenex and can hardly see to type.
Congress should have to watch several of these before each appropriation vote.
IrishEyes on December 15, 2007 at 1:26 PM
I Knew what it was going to be when I read it, and watched it and still got teary eyed… that is so awesome…

Damn you Hotair!
Drtuddle on December 15, 2007 at 3:39 PM
You can take the christmas trees away, you can forbid them to sing Christmas Carols, you can make Santa go on a diet – but you cannot take the love of the season out of the hearts of those good people
