In Part 6 of Robert’s look at the UK’s “Islam is Peace” campaign, he takes on the fifth and final point: “To make friends…” A close look reveals that the if campaign really wishes Muslims to make friends with non-Muslims, they have some verses from the Koran to deal with.*
Don’t forget to read Robert’s excellent Blogging the Qur’an series, with new posts arriving each Sunday morning.

I have a pretty small circle of friends, but one thing they all have in common is that they’re not offended easily.
But if you’ve got a good sense of humor, sure, I’m game.

Sound check? The video doesn’t have sound for some reason…at least not that I can hear.

I’m having the same problem. I also just took a look at Spencer’s website Jihadwatch. He hasn’t (yet) posted it there.

Yup, same problem here. No sound.

Ditto here

Well done Mr. Spencer. Agreed as always. Muslims need to focus on their own people before they look to acceptance among non-muslims.

Robert,
I’m sure you noticed in their video they even said “anyone who believes in allah, let him be good to his neighbor, which goes to your very point. What about all of us who do not believe in allah?

Those were great questions at the end of the video, but let’s look at the chances that they will get answered seriously. I assume the Islam Is Peace people are sincere, liberal muslims, though given the muslim practice of taqiyya you can never be sure.
Before continueing I should tell you a fact about myself: I’m an atheist who enjoys attacking liberal Christianity (while remaining strangely silent on the conservative forms, but on the subject of evolution). So, I’m in the habit of very directly challenging of liberal Christians. This of course makes me a mean person, as liberal Christians are not used to being questioned. Not surprising, I never hear good arguments from a liberal Christians, like you would from a conservative Christian. In particular, the liberal Christian’s arguments do not improve even when you ask them the same question four months later and even four months after that. Liberal Christians are too simply intellectually lazy to address any challenge. Liberal muslims, if they exist, will be just as lazy. So while, it’s great that Robert is asking these questions, there is almost no chance of dialog.

Once again, Spencer skewers Islam. It would appear that the Islam is Peace campaign is built upon the notion that 99% of non-Muslims haven’t a single clue what Islam is and what the Koran says.
Presently, they may be correct. But thanks to Spencer and others (Pipes, etc.), this must change in the future.

You mean DOMINATION of non-muslims right Thacker…

You gonna put your neck on the line for this?

I was just reading the lies and deceit published by muslims about the muslim father who murdered his own daughter (Death of Aqsa Parvez had nothing to do with Islam, Muslim leaders say)
here in part
Blame IGNORANT CANADIANS and get away with it. WHY?
Think about this.
If you took the violence out of Islam, what would remain?
It would be a hollow form of government, without ‘reason’, without forced/submitted followers within days, and without any submitted followers with in a few years. Without violence and the preaching and practice of fear and violence Islam would cease to exist.
This is no secret, but we must remember that muslims are just aware of this as we may be….yet they will not admit it as that would end the gig…so to speak.
Violence IS their gig. Period.

make peace…
Islamists emulating their prophet Mohammed’s command refuse to acknowledge peace to you then push you aside and run you off the road–
survival of the fittest?

Absolutely correct. That is the keystone to their religion, that is how they control even their own women, without it they have nothing.

Well done as always, Robert! Thanks for the great incite!

countrywolf:
I don’t know if you meant that or not, but since others have clearly meant it, I thought I’d pop in to say that I am not “inciting” anything. If they say their book holds the key to life, and they do, and this book contradicts what they’re saying they want to do, as it appears to do, then I don’t think it’s illegitimate in any way to ask them about it.
Robert Spencer on December 14, 2007 at 4:25 PM
IMHO: My guess is that countywolf misspelled ‘insight’.
Of course, I don’t mind a little ‘incite’:
“Al-taqiyya.”
Muslims lie when it is in their interest to do so and “Allah” will not hold them accountable for lying when it is beneficial to the cause of Islam. They can lie without any guilt or fear of accountability or retribution. A lie in the defense of Islam is approved even applauded in their “holy” books.
Bravo, Rob’t Spencer for shining the light of truth on this duplicitous ‘religion’ of perpetual outrage.
