Are those stats meaningful? Fred answered 10 questions and Keyes answered 8, but Fred took less time to do it. Tells me that there is a blowhard factor to be considered. The longwinded types, such as Giuliani, and to a certain extent Romney will naturally consume all the clocktime they’re alloted and a bit more. Fred, Duncan and Tanc are usually brief and to the point. If you ask Rudy how the weather is he’ll somehow use that opportunity to tell you how he reduced murder in NYC as mayor.

But, one of Fred’s points is that he wants more time to speak in depth. In fact, when ConfederateYankee (is that his name?) did an interview with him, he spoke at length. And spoke well.

Same thing the rest of the candidates are doing. Traveling, radio, TV, speaking at various events. That kind of comment has become pretty trite.

Well, he was the only one with enogh balls to call it, and he did offer to answer the question, but the mod wouldn’t let him. I’d say swimming upstream against group silliness in which the rest were willing to participate, demonstrates a willingness to stand up on principle and a certain amount of toughness. I always liked that about Rudy, but he’s been a bit of a disappoinment lately.

Hey BK, he didn’t just say ‘sorry, won’t answer’. He asked for time to properly answer and was denied.

I very much liked someone, anyone, slapping down the babbling talking heads that infest the msm. The problem is the gop as a whole has NOT stood up for themselves and refuted the bs from the left. I hope we see a whole lot more of that kind of thing, and I would think you would too.

And if Mitt had done it, I’d be just as happy and impressed.

When the primaries are over, that’s different. But until then, it’s all about the base and promoting the candidate’s abilities to get their messages out.

Voters NEED and DESERVE debate based upon our own party’s platform! Except for Thompson and Keyes adherence, the “platform” seems avoided as though a scaffold, other candidates leading astray on tangents.

Conservative Republican RADIO talk show hosts could each format one 3-hour segment per topic for the candidates to discuss. Say Rush takes a day for a tax debate; Ingraham takes a day on border security; Hannity takes a day on the Iraq war; Savage takes a day on civil rights.

Everyone would have access to the radio debate; and given the 3-hours per topic, no question would remain where any of our candidates stood on any of the topics.

It is a workable solution.

According to the Frank Luntz focus group, Romney won the debate.

Thompson is doing something the other candidates are not.
He’s refusing to go along with these non-issue debates. I haven’t seen anything of substance in the debates or by any of the candidates. Although, Fred looked presidential by pushing back the fluff question. There’s too much pandering by the other candidates. They are all acting wishy-washy by trying to have it both ways. Global Grifting is a non issue, taxes are an issue. Where are the questions on that?

When are we gonna get off these Teletubbie debates and start asking real questions?
