I recall that there were lots of people like Jimmy Carter who said if only Israel would get out of Lebanon, Hezbollah members would return to their farms and there would be peace because Israel would no longer be an occupier. I believe that Patrick J. Buchanan, the Carter of the bizarro right, also said the same thing. George McGovern came out of mothballs to say the same thing. The New York Times said the same thing dozens of time.
Yet when Israel did just what the Carter/Buchanan/UN/State Department crowd told the Israelis to do, it brought nothing but more terrorists closer to the border. Jay Leno said that to Carter and Carter’s face became contorted with rage and he yelled at Leno: “That’s not true”. With Carter, he has a left wing mindset that is filled with antiIsrael antiAmerica bile. When the facts get in the way, Carter just denies reality and attacks the messenger.

This isn't exactly news. It's well known the Hezbos trained with and in North Korea and got weapons from them in the '80s. I wrote about this a few weeks ago on my site and in the NYPost, when I wrote about how Hezbollah/Syria-backed Nidal Al-Aouar, cousin of FBI/CIA spy Nada Nadim Prouty, trained in North Korea. He's one of many to do so.

All I can say is the USA seems to be employing the stealthiest B2 bombers around, because the mood here the last 2 weeks is one of total shock & awe and we haven’t seen a single bomb.

It’s absolute shell shock here – Our Defense Minister Barak of all people (the man is a walking American flag supporter) openly criticized the US yesterday & harhsly, it means us actions headed by the State Dept have put US / Israeli relations in a tail-spin.

Personally, I no longer can take America at its word when it states it does not negotiate with terrorists, Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, North Korea – Can someone find me a bloody terrorist you are not negotiating with!?

I don’t think its so much a strategic partnership, as much as an economic partnership. Hez has access to Hard Currency… which N. Korea needs…

I don’t see this as all that complicated, assuming that it still isn’t going on. The US fusses and “expresses concern” about past actions- and then goes ahead and removes N. Korea from the list.

The more relevant question is SHOULD North Korea from the list and my gut reaction is no, they should not. I suspect that whatever aid they have given in the past is continuing.

There may be a knee-jerk reaction to try to pin this cooperation on President Bush’s inclusion of North Korea in the “axis of evil.” The fact that the North Korea/Hezbollah relationship began in the 1980s is unlikely to slow the knee-jerkers down much. They still think our problems with al Qaeda and with Iraq began in 2001.

Actually, they’ll acknowledge that the problems began in the 1980s for Hezbollah and 1990 for Iraq. They’ll just claim reality was suspended during the 8 years of Clinton.
