South-Americans are some of the most “name-brand” people on Earth, whether they can afford it or not. However, this is still sweet!

Louis Vuitton tie-$9,000

Finally getting called out for his hypocrisy while ordinary Venezuelans have to stand in long lines just to get the basics-F***ing priceless.

The dirty little secret about populism is you’ve got to at least pretend to walk the walk.
highhopes on December 13, 2007 at 11:23 PM
See, there are two Venezuelas…
amerpundit on December 13, 2007 at 11:25 PM
So the socialist problem is importing goods into
his own country, and by the way, does the journalist
have a bodyguard.

Suddenly, a pair of $200.00 sneakers doesn’t make me feel disgusted anymore.
Kini on December 13, 2007 at 11:41 PM
Well, imagine that! Yet another fine example of why socialism doesn’t work.
4shoes on December 14, 2007 at 12:16 AM
So, Hugo, round up your socialist friends, find a nice little spot in the middle of nowhere, and form youselves a kollective, and leave the rest of the Venezuelans alone.

No different than some of the televangelists that are always clamoring for ‘love offerings’ for the poor. Like oil and water some ideologies and money don’t mix well.

This should be a main page feature, with the YouTube video available. Also make this a major point:

Oops…meant to say looks like Reaganomics is still working, nearly 30 years later…
MadisonConservative on December 14, 2007 at 1:39 AM
Gah…striking out today…thought this was just a headline…
Going to go sit in the corner and punish myself by listening to Ron Paul for 6 seconds.
MadisonConservative on December 14, 2007 at 1:40 AM
Just a little fix, don’t punish yourself.
Kini on December 14, 2007 at 2:17 AM

Kini on December 14, 2007 at 3:31 AM

oldleprechaun on December 14, 2007 at 6:38 AM
I wish we had some reporters like that in our country.
conservnut on December 14, 2007 at 6:49 AM
The ultimate goal of modern socialism is to live like a capitalist. But instead of earning your way to it, you walk on the backs of the common people.
Kowboy on December 14, 2007 at 9:05 AM
Tex, they’ll never be able to do that. Socialists, like leftists in general, have an uncontrollable urge to force others to live according to their beliefs, even while not doing so themselves. The left loves to decry that “gap between the rich and poor”, while living comfortably on the rich side of the “gap”.
Bigfoot on December 14, 2007 at 9:46 AM
“Some animals are more even than others”, as somebody once said.
