Ironically, when people wish each other “Happy Holidays” they are giving a Christian greeting whether they know it or not. The word holiday is a modern expression/evolution of the phrase “holy day”. The expression “Goodbye” is a modern expression of “God be with you”.

No one can ruin Christmas. It’s one of the most inclusive holidays. It doesn’t matter if you believe belief in Christ is as simple as belief in Santa Claus, you can still have a tree and exchange gifts.

You can keep it completely secular with a focus solely on trees, presents and Santa, or you can make it a holy tradition, honoring the most amazing gift humanity has ever received.

Either way, the holiday itself brings a warmth to a cold season. It’s an incredible time, and it’s the closest this country comes to actually celebrating something special in unity.

Granted, we have much more pressing matters, but it is a fascinating look at those who really are hell bent on driving Christianity out of America. I’m a Christian, I don’t wear it on my sleeve, I don’t expect others to attend my church or adopt my way of thinking. Worship whomever you wish, but have the common decency to back the f%^k off of Christmas and Christmas trees, and fat guys in red suits etc.
It’s pretty obvious this argument is no longer about seperation of church and state. It’s about an attack on a culture that has been established since this country was founded.

It doesn't have pagan roots in the spiritual sense. Nobody knows when Christ was born but commemorating it is December makes sense. "In the Middle Ages spring did not primarily mean swallows and wild flowers. It meant green vegetables, milk and fresh meat after several months of living on salt pork in smoky windowless huts. The spring songs were gay Do nothing but eat and make good cheer, And thank Heaven for the merry year When flesh is cheap and females dear, And lusty lads roam here and there So merrily, And ever among so merrily! because there was something to be so gay about. The winter was over, that was the great thing. Christmas itself, a pre-Christian festival, probably started because there had to be an occasional outburst of overeating and drinking to make a break in the unbearable northern winter."
