Hugo’s tool

The Kennedys are disgusting.
Joe Kennedy’s back, playing Santa Chavez with a new sleigh full of Venezuelan heating oil for “the poor.” The tropical dictator’s politicized “gift,” however, comes with strings. We see Joe dancing on them.
“Our government gets their panties in a knot much more than most Americans do about Hugo Chavez,” Kennedy told the Boston Globe. “I’ll tell you I wish we had a little more leadership in this country that has a concern for the poor and the disenfranchised as we do in other parts of the world,” he said, adding that he would never be “in the tank to Hugo Chavez.”
But Kennedy’s been in the charity oil business for years, and he knows that Chavista crude isn’t the only solution for high oil prices hitting the poor. Oil can be bought, and he could get the cash just as easily for his program by hitting up some foundation to buy the oil.
What this is really about is advancing Chavez’s U.S. agenda, a big part of which is to blame U.S. oil companies for high oil prices.
What Joe Kennedy is actually doing here is allowing Hugo Chavez to meddle directly in US politics. Given Chavez’s open admiration for Fidel Castro, John F. Kennedy must be spinning in his grave.
More: Some additional thoughts on this. Once in a while, some lefty will send me an email purporting to demonstrate some connection between President Bush and the Nazis via his grandfather. It’s tenuous stuff, but there’s a segment on the conspiracist left and probably right that buys into it and thinks it should somehow convince people that Bush’s policies and especially the war in the here and now are driven by what his grandfather did or didn’t do several decades ago.
Meanwhile, in the here and now, we have Joe Kennedy, a member of America’s other dynastic political family, sucking up to a tyrannical thug who is openly hostile to the US. This thug has declared multiple times that he hates the US and our “imperialism” and at the last OPEC meeting said that he wanted to spark an oil war against us. This thug menaces our democratic allies in his neighborhood and builds alliances with the mullahs in Tehran among other bad actors on the world stage. In sucking up to him, Kennedy and his ilk are doing everything that the conspiracists accuse Bush’s grandfather of having done. And it’s going on right now, in front of our eyes. Yet I never hear criticism on this from any conspiracist, or indeed, just about anyone on the left. Ever.

He hasn’t changed, and quite frankly, he makes Teddy look reasonable by comparison.
When are these blue-blooded inbred poxes on American politics going to finally pass into history?
MadisonConservative on December 12, 2007 at 11:31 AM
Says it all right there.
Frozen Tex on December 12, 2007 at 11:32 AM
He still has that bootlegger/criminal mind-set so ingrained in that gene=pool. Teddy’s big problem(well.one of them) is that he took to sampling the merch.
bbz123 on December 12, 2007 at 11:35 AM
Most likely, ol’ Joe’s making a buck off of this some way or another. Always follow the money.

Accuracy.
Frozen Tex on December 12, 2007 at 11:45 AM
My thoughts exactly. Btw: I thought it was Joe K. who skied into a tree? Must have been another genius member of their family.
foxforce91 on December 12, 2007 at 11:52 AM
Hugo wants to use oil as a political tool against “imperialism”.
His plan is so extreme that the Saudi king told him cut that sh1t. That’s 2 kings in a month that told Hugo to STFU.
AlexB on December 12, 2007 at 11:52 AM
The Kennedys still have that sweet no bid, exclusive contract to switch all incoming and outgoing phone calls from the island of Cuba?
Let us not neglect the many tentacles of the Kennedy Klan.
gabriel sutherland on December 12, 2007 at 11:54 AM
Probably a safe bet- it was funnelled through his foundation, which I’m guessing pays him pretty well.
Hollowpoint on December 12, 2007 at 11:55 AM
Why don’t these liberals wake up to the fact that when Chavez does this kind of thing he is actually squandering the wealth of the Venezuelan people on his promoting his image abroad? Even a poor American has a better standard of living than a poor Venezuelan.
But that criticism assumes that people like the Kennedys really have principles.
SWLiP on December 12, 2007 at 11:56 AM
He’s absolutely justified to receive lots and lots of management fees for fighting for world peace and against Imperialism. It’s the least he deserves.
AlexB on December 12, 2007 at 11:57 AM
Blame the oil companies for causing the problem you started.
Joe Kennedy following in the footsteps of Teddy Kennedy by working with Americas enemy’s.
Kini on December 12, 2007 at 12:01 PM
JFK would have kicked Chavez’s ass, after first turning his brother Teddy over his knee.
This snot nosed kid would have had his mouth washed out with soap.
I am not a big fan of JFK (the last capitalist democrat), but he didn’t coddle up to these cheap brutal dictators. (although he did suck on the Bay of Pigs)
right2bright on December 12, 2007 at 12:05 PM
Last I heard, the tool is the best part of a man.
No Kennedy left on this planet would ever fit that description.
leanright on December 12, 2007 at 12:18 PM
Bryan, let me explain it to you.
You can’t make a dictator’s name with a K or a Y.
But you can put “Hitler” at the end of Bush.
You can even replace the “s” with a dollar sign, to make “Bu$$$$Hitler”.
With Kennedy, you can make “Kennedynasty” or maybe “Kennedicator”, but that doesn’t roll off the tongue. And I can’t even replace any letters with quirky symbols!
So until you find some huge liberal with a name that can be easily morphed into Hitler, Stalin or Mussolini, those types of observations are never going to catch any traction.
Nethicus on December 12, 2007 at 12:21 PM
At least the Kennedy’s adopted Conan the Barbarian. Probably just trying to strengthen the gene pool though.
Limerick on December 12, 2007 at 12:23 PM
Allah
“John F. Kennedy must be spinning in his grave.”
Hmmm lets see the same John F Kennedy that changed the landing points for the Bay of Pigs from the City to the SWAMPS, same John F Kennedy that once those forces landed refused already promised air support, same John F Kennedy that then after discovering potential Soviet missile bases made a show of strength but then traded Soviet potential missile sites in Cuba for EXISTING US MISSILE SITES IN TURKEY??????
JFK achievements;
-near total decimation of Cuban democracy movement via selling them out after sending them to the wolves mouth (solidification of Castro’s control over Cuban gen pop)
-Humiliation of CIA US government by Castro (resulting in Soviet expansion into Cuba to play on US presidential WEAKNESS)
-Soviet victory of US withdrawal of missiles in Turkey in return for non existent missiles in Cuba (Nothing for something is always a dam good trade in anybodies book) (Soviets didn’t have to fork out cost of Missile installations US had to not only write off cost of existing installations but fork out cost to remove those facilities)
-Soviet victory of GUARANTEE of US allowing a Communist Cuba at our door step (resulting in a cascade of revolutions in the Americas all the way into the 90’s)
-Welfare (destruction of Black Family, demoralization, elimination of native cheep labor pool for small business)
Yeah a real f*cking peach great among great indeed ;

Joe Kennedy is following in his grandfather’s public Nazi supporting footsteps in betting on the wrong horse when it comes to his country’s interests.
The History Channel regularly shows ‘Kennedys: The Curse of Power’ with those video quotes.

Kind of pathetic to use the term aristocracy in America isn’t it? Unless of course your pining to live under people you call your betters.
BL@KBIRD on December 12, 2007 at 1:19 PM
Did the Kennedy’s not believe in family vacations?
You know, the kind where the whole family crawls into the car and drives somewhere…
Preferably, Ted could drive.
simon on December 12, 2007 at 1:33 PM
It’s sarcasm. The MSM is always casting crowns at this awful family.
Bryan on December 12, 2007 at 1:40 PM
My sentiments, exactly. Who do these people think they are and why do they think we want to hear their spew.
bloggless on December 12, 2007 at 1:54 PM
The way they treat their women is more akin to the way women are treated in Iran.
bloggless on December 12, 2007 at 1:56 PM
Geez, when are these people going to be held to account for treason?
Iblis on December 12, 2007 at 1:57 PM
You’re a multimillionaire, Joey. When I see you giving away 90% or more of your money to “the poor and disenfranchised” before asking the rest of us to do the same, then I’ll take you seriously.

Meanwhile, that little punk RFK Jr. is all about fighting the ‘catastrophic’ damage that Exxon/Mobil is doing to the planet.
God, I hate the Kennedys.
Those elitist, hypocrite scumbags have earned every bit of misery and loss that’s ever been visited upon them.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch.
Teddy on December 12, 2007 at 4:44 PM
If Chavez is such a champion of the poor people, why has he enacted economic policies that have cleared the store shelves of food in Venezuela? It’s probably a good idea to document the Kennedy embrace of Chavez so that we can barf those back up when Chavez begins shooting people en masse.
I seem to recall that Uncle Teddy was caught conspiring with the Soviets against Reagan to improve his political prospects. So there’s nothing new here.

Joe Kennedy is named after his grandfather Joseph Kennedy, who admired the Nazis and used his position as ambassador to the UK to discourage US involvement in WWII prior to Pearl Harbor. Joseph Kennedy’s anti-semitism and admiration for the Nazis is well documented, as are his prewar investments in Germany.
Prescott Bush may not have been a saint, but Joe Kennedy Sr. was a vile human being, but then it takes a certain kind of guy to bring his girlfriend to the family vacation home. The behavior of family members seems to indicate that apples don’t fall too far from the tree.
rokemronnie on December 12, 2007 at 5:43 PM
rokemronnie-
My father died in 2004 at age 88. I recall him telling me Joe sr. was recalled from his position as ambassador at THE REQUEST OF THE KING, so vocal was Joe’s pro-Nazi stand.
oldleprechaun on December 12, 2007 at 5:51 PM
This shouldn’t be a problem for much longer anyways, what with global warming bringing tropical weather to colder climates we should be more worried about bringing Hawaii shirts and cold refreshing beer to the poor.
