Democrats’ Frankenstein monster comes back to haunt the Hill
posted at 8:39 am on December 12, 2007 by Bryan
Two words: Ha Ha. The Democrats encouraged this nonsense to help them take back Congress, so now they have to live with it. To paraphrase fake Indian Ward Churchill, the pink chickens are coming home to roost.
Leaders of the antiwar group Code Pink, frustrated by the ineffectiveness of Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill, yesterday said they are mobilizing a campaign for regime change within the party in the 2008 elections.
The mostly female group — famous for disrupting congressional hearings and its demonstrators clad in pink T-shirts and tiaras — has applied for a new tax status that permits political work for its campaigns against Democrats as well as Republicans, Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin said.
“We felt betrayed by the very people we helped to put into office,” Ms. Benjamin told editors and reporters at The Washington Times. “We have a particular break with the leadership of the Democratic Party.”
The group also plans to take an active role in the presidential race, likely backing Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois or former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, both Democrats.
Code Pink activists have voiced dissatisfaction with Democratic front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and targeted her with demonstrations. Ms. Benjamin credited her group with influencing Mrs. Clinton’s opposition to the Iraq war and to possible military action against Iran.
Ironically, if Code Pink shows up on the campaign trail to help Obama or Edwards and hurt Clinton, it’ll end up making Clinton look like the sane one.
There’s video at the link of the Pinkos explaining themselves. It’s about as nutty as you’d expect. Their party platform amounts to surrendering the war and “green jobs.”

Lord have mercy,,, these (mostly) women are simply scary.
Code Pink is as odd as they come.
Thank God I live in this country, a country that allows anyone to make complete fools of themselves. And.,,,,, allows the rest of us to be the audience.
Can you imagine your mother being a member of Code Pink?
jake-the-goose on December 12, 2007 at 8:58 AM
Same question as Jammies: why would the Washington Times editors meet with this nitwit?
Note also that the Army’s PC movement to bring women into the military yields us Ann Wright, a foaming nitwit who now campaigns with these marxists, and yet rose to the rank of Colonel, without every picking up a weapon.

If “Medea” Susan Benjamin can’t walk the walk, she shouldn’t talk the talk. She has two children! Their wasteful carbon footprints disgust me. Green/Pink Poseur.

I can’t believe that these Code Pinko marxist/anarchists are allowed to testify before Congress. What a farce.
In any case, I welcome their support of Obama and Edwards and look forward to seeing Medea Benjamin on Oprah in the future.

Good question. Then again, how many women are in NOW?
Same tripe. Same kind of morons.

Unless it helps Obama, aint gonna be on Oprah’s show. Whatever network carries Oprah ought to give equal time to the other candidates free.

Code Pink provides the valuable service of sending a message to Middle America and Reagan Democrats that anti-war activists are a bunch of screwballs. Thanks Code Pink! You are doing a heckuva job!

A friend of mine who works at the Justice Department sent me some photos of the Code Pink anti-Gonzales protest back in June. My favorite is the one at the bottom of this set.
Though I think this was Code Pink’s second team.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on December 12, 2007 at 9:17 AM
If they want to do that voluntarily, fine. But I am not going to play the Fairness Doctrine game. That’s a very slippery slope.
I see that Medusa Benjamin was wearing a “Love the troops, Hate the war” button. Code Pinko has a bizarre way of expressing love. Clearly they are confused about love and hate, which helps explain why they suffer from a multitude of derangement syndromes.

What goes around….
No, it was her, the reality challenged.
So now she’s only going to protest at the Pakistani Embassy…in the U.S.
amerpundit on December 12, 2007 at 9:24 AM
The Wikipedia page says 500,000.
Code Pink’s own website claims that 150,000 people receive its stupid email newsletter. So even if you count every one of those people as a member (highly unlikely)… 150,000.
U.S. population is 301 million.
saint kansas on December 12, 2007 at 9:26 AM
Thanks… I can never get enough of those photos. My favorite (I wish I’d saved it) was the shot of two people somewhere in New England hanging out with signs by two mailboxes. They left after a few minutes, and then it was just the two mailboxes protesting.
Just as effectively, I might add.
saint kansas on December 12, 2007 at 9:30 AM
Medea, in Greek mythology, was married to Jason (of Argonaut fame) and killed their children in a frenzy. Maybe this modern-day Medea is just as nuts.

Careful! When the Pink Reich finally attains world domination, you will all be marched up against the pink wall, shot by the Pink Troopers then buried in a nicely knitted corpse cozy.

Dems have reaped what they have sown. If Code Pink does follow through on their threats, which I have no doubt they will, more Americans will see what dangerous mental midgets the far left really is. However, I have a feeling my mute button will get alot of use during the upcoming election season.

No it’s really “Media” Susan Benjamin. She just can’t spell, that’s all.

No, no, there’ll be no shootingon Pink’s watch; you’ll be screamed at and have red-painted hands waved in your face until you swallow your own tongue just to escape the madness.

I suggest changing the title of this item to “Democrats’ Medea Comes Back to Kill Her Children on the Hill”
thuja on December 12, 2007 at 10:23 AM
Code Pink is a tool of the Clinton mob, so with code pink publicly supporting Obama, and Edwards, it drives otherwise reasonable democrats into the Clinton camp.
It would be like the KKK, or skin head neo-Natzi publicly supporting Romney.
If Obama really wanted to torpedo the Clintons, he would tell code pink to get lost, that he doesn’t want their help.
If code pink is ‘going to break with the leadership of the democrat party’, does that mean code pink is abandoning Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi?
Without code pink support what support does Harry and Nancy have left? Does this mean their leadership careers are over?

Send Code Pink to the Arab States and let them storm their leaders, lets see how much respect they get in Iran.

Delusions of voter producing grandeur I think.

Qzsusy on December 12, 2007 at 10:37 AM
here’s the larger and, for some reason, unspeakably controversial question: why don’t we treat marxists in this society the way we treat neo-nazis? that is, we don’t listen to them, we certainly don’t give them a voice. we investigate them and prosecute them, and if it so happens that one or two of them “walk into a doorknob” when decent citizens encounter them on the street, we praise the “doorknob” for aggressively acting in the spirit of our republic’s values.
i’m serious about this. why aren’t we viscerally revulsed by the very sight of marxoid dealth-cultists?

The reason Medea feels “party-less” is that she’d tip her hand a little too obviously if she joined the Workers World Party.
eeyore on December 12, 2007 at 11:21 AM
The thought that Code pink might have the slightest effect on changing the leadership of the dimocratic party show how delusional all components of the party have become. When Hillary cannot garner the respect of her husband, how can she expect respect from the American voter?
