Video: O’Reilly still talking about MILFs

Witness the peculiar genius of O’R: Having put our beloved Mary K through the wringer on this idiotic topic last week, he goes back to the well — and against all odds, turns it into oddly compelling television. Did Baldanza know the dark, secret meaning of MILF when he came up with the ad campaign? Had he seen “American Pie,” which Bill seems to think is the touchstone for being acquainted with this particular term? Does he like what this sort of thing is doing to the culture? Well, do ya, punk? The Factor is on, my friends.
Although I support her unconditionally, I do miss seeing the boss in the Monday night segment. Alf just isn’t a match for KP, I’m afraid. Exit question: Anyone want to place their bets on what tomorrow night’s featured clips in Mary Katharine’s segment will be? This crap was on Fox & Friends this morning so look out. You think that’s a good thing for the culture, seeing girls pole-dancing on subway cars? Huh, Mary Katharine? Do ya?

I see the roles are clearly defined today :D
lorien1973 on December 11, 2007 at 10:00 PM
Yeah, I let him do the heavy lifting. His posts are always more thoughtful anyway. I’m the guy who finds the tabloid crap.
Allahpundit on December 11, 2007 at 10:01 PM
Gosh The Factor is sucking so much lately. I really like Bill, but he’s doing maybe five minutes’ worth of politics in the whole hour.
Hannity & Colmes is kicking his ass. Why won’t Bill switch and cut the crap with these lame human interest and “culture” stories?
Baphomet on December 11, 2007 at 10:02 PM
Yeah, but I think they’ve gone overboard. As have we. The horse-race crap is wearying day in, day out. It’s made blogging a total drag lately.
Allahpundit on December 11, 2007 at 10:05 PM
How can you stomach Hannity? He’s gotta be the most irritating right winger on TV. He constantly misses great opportunities to nail the guy he’s interviewing on the other side. He should get content from Debbie Schlussel more often - it’s the only time he makes a good point.
lorien1973 on December 11, 2007 at 10:06 PM
Thanks Allah, didn’t know what MLIF stood for,
like the segment in the Simpsons,Rod and Todd,
Oh my freeeegging ears.haha.
And tomorrows segment,ya clips of O’Reilly
discussing MILFs.hehe
canopfor on December 11, 2007 at 10:07 PM
They’ve both entered Greta-land and are almost unwatchable. Thank goodness we still have Brit.

Sean Hannity writes hard-hitting books about conservative issues and offends liberals. Bill O’Reilly’s books are about the “culture wars” and usually end up with the suggestion that O’Reilly is the only one on the entire planet that isn’t a pinhead or bloviator. Enough said?
P.S. I still haven’t figured out what Alan Colmes adds to the mix. He’s just annoying.
highhopes on December 11, 2007 at 10:08 PM
Yeah, he’s not doing too much political commentary anymore. He was a host of a tabloid show before going on Fox News. So I’m wondering if he’s always had an interest in covering this kind of stuff and 9/11 just brought him to pay attention to politics much more (like it did to me). Or maybe he just does this stuff because he believes it gets more viewers and would prefer doing to do the political stuff “all day long” and “this, that and the other”(as he would say).
terryannonline on December 11, 2007 at 10:10 PM
Disagree with the first, agree with the second.
Bryan on December 11, 2007 at 10:10 PM
I think Hannity & Colmes as a show is better than The Factor, but I still prefer Bill to Hannity.
What highhopes said about him is true, but I also think lorien1973’s comments on Hannity are true. Bill’s a guy with an ego but with a real personality, who can think for himself and agree with a Democrat or a lefty if they say something sensical. Hannity could never do that.

Al Qaeda has cooties in Anbar and their looking for MLIF’s!hehe.

You rock my world….(sorry if thats a bit to personal!!)
dmann on December 11, 2007 at 10:17 PM
Yea, Fox has gone south (or less right, or more green) for the most part.
I stopped watching Greta a few weeks into the Scott Peterson non-stop coverage whenever that was.
Colmes was always weak and Hannity always latches onto some inane point and beats it beyond death, so they went by the wayside for me not too long after Greta.
I used to like O’Reilly, and still do have affection for him from time to time, but he’s been wrong a lot, so I rarely tune him in anymore — though I do try to remember which night Miller is on.
Shep Smith jumped the shark with his Katrina hysteria (and I don’t recall him ever apologizing for it like the LA Times eventually did), though if there’s a car chase on in his time frame I’ll watch him.
That leaves 2 hours a day worth paying attention to: Cavuto and Gibson (and Heather, natch).
ShoreMark on December 11, 2007 at 10:20 PM
Somehow we need to incorporate blimps and Led Zeppelin into that. :-)
amerpundit on December 11, 2007 at 10:20 PM
I’ve never heard Alan given the chance to explain his views in a decent time frame; he’s always talked over. Therefore, he hasn’t annoyed me, yet.
terryannonline on December 11, 2007 at 10:20 PM
P.S. Make that 2-1/2 hours, forgot the first half of Special Report with Hume.
ShoreMark on December 11, 2007 at 10:22 PM
After 50 years, we see the fruits of the ‘President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports’…young athletic pole dancers!
Clearly, our children are superior in all (meaningful) ways!
tlynch001 on December 11, 2007 at 10:25 PM
I’m appreciative of getting hard news and, well, culture news, in little bitty bytes here at HA, and darn glad I haven’t watched television in almost eight years.
RushBaby on December 11, 2007 at 10:27 PM
Al Qaeda has major cooties in Anbar and they’re looking for MILFs using a blimp that blasts Led Zeplin?

Tzetzes on December 11, 2007 at 10:39 PM
What’s so odd about MILFs? Shouldn’t almost all married fathers have one? Or has that changed and that’s why there are so many 1 child families?
Annoying Old Guy on December 11, 2007 at 10:40 PM
I’m also tired of those lame “content” warnings O’Reilly gives out. As if a bleeped description of what MILF stands for would cause someone to gasp in dismay. Where, or more precisely, when, does he live in? The 1950s?
Baphomet on December 11, 2007 at 10:44 PM
Interesting segment, but Bill could do so much better. And for the record, MILFs have been around even before American Pie. Of course we had different names for them, but that is besides the point. ;-)
itzWicks on December 11, 2007 at 10:48 PM
But what about Drew Peterson!?!
This is like O’Reilly tried to jump the shark and landed in the tank.
Pablo on December 11, 2007 at 10:50 PM
I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that Bill will be OK with the pole dancing on a subway thing.

Two words: Jane Skinner.
Pablo on December 11, 2007 at 10:53 PM
This is why I stopped watching Bill. A long time ago.
bigbeas on December 11, 2007 at 10:54 PM
I want Naomi Wolf. She’s a hardcore communist, but damn she’s hot. Either that or those weird segments were Bill invites some hot stripper or something to fawn at her while simultaneously feigning outrage and playing culture warrior. We know you’re a sleaze, Bill. I love ya for it :)
Baphomet on December 11, 2007 at 10:55 PM
And I always thought it meant:
Morons I’d Like to Frogmarch.
Jimmy Carter must have invented MILF.
profitsbeard on December 11, 2007 at 10:57 PM
I’ve decided, Alan Colmes job is to ask assinine questions and then interrupt the speakers before they can get 5 words out of their mouths. In short, to be extremely annoying!
4shoes on December 11, 2007 at 11:05 PM
Not anymore.
RushBaby on December 11, 2007 at 11:08 PM
Does anyone have any information on the terrorist organization Moro-Islamic Liberation Front? I wonder if they’re really on a Jihad of love for…Stiffler’s mom.
watchmen on December 11, 2007 at 11:10 PM
Well then, you’d appreciate this fact that disappeared from the FNC website. Fox knew they wanted Sean Hannity in a show that also had a liberal. Colmes is the LNL (liberal named later) in that mix and it shows. Sean Hannity has a successful following on radio and television. Alan Colmes radio show is a failure.
IMO these same dynamics hold true with their FNC show. Hannity’s questions are far more profound than Colmes’ Sean actually talks about the issues while Alan makes broad-based policy statements to be denied or supported depending on the guest. I could be wrong here and would welcome somebody to prove me wrong.

Do we have to send somebody to NYC to slap some sense into AP?
steveegg on December 11, 2007 at 11:32 PM
You forgot “then read something he found on Google.”
Connie on December 11, 2007 at 11:37 PM
Is Margaret Hoover still appearing on the Factor? Although Michelle Malkin is still my favorite conservative commentator, I have to say she’s very appealing–perky and upbeat and always smiling. But, of course, I always watched it when MM guest hosted what should now be the Malkin Agenda. ;)
American_Pride1701 on December 11, 2007 at 11:48 PM
Used to watch BOR, used to watch H$C.
It became a total waste of time, so, as of 2007, I no longer watch.
AZCON on December 12, 2007 at 12:13 AM
I’d expect that kind of language at Denny’s, but not here!
Since we don’t know what he looks like, we’ll just have to start slapping randomly and then apologize a lot. You’ll know it’s Allah when he/she says, “I deserved that.”
P.S. Doesn’t O’Reilly know what ALF really stands for?
saint kansas on December 12, 2007 at 5:44 AM
We need an actual conservative TV news channel. One that doesnt beat a story until they’re driving people off with the coverage.
dogsoldier on December 12, 2007 at 6:56 AM
No, the mere fact of motherhood is insufficient. The MILF has to be sufficiently older so that she is a mother of someone in your own age group. Otherwise the term is completely useless. Needless to say, correct usage of this term drops off sharply after you turn 35.
James on December 12, 2007 at 7:31 AM
I agree with everything except the car chases - Boring.
Never home for Cavuto and Gibson so for me the only thing left to watch on TV is The Golf Channel
Ann on December 12, 2007 at 9:33 AM
O’Reilly is MILFing this for all it’s worth.
right2bright on December 12, 2007 at 10:33 AM
O’Reilly has really become a caricature of the stodgy, out-of-touch conservative. I keep expecting him to slap his forehead and say “would you believe these kids these days?” He’s like Grandpa Simpson with even less elf-awareness.
Enrique on December 12, 2007 at 10:35 AM
Elf-awareness? What the hell am I talking about?
