Rudy must hate this guy. He beats the Yankees with the Red Sox and Diamond Backs, and now helps McCain possibly push him into 3rd in NH. Rudy needs to show some strength before Super Tuesday and this doesn’t help.

Do athlete’s endorsements matter? Probably few people admit to ultimately making a choice based on an athlete, but winning a championship is big, winning it for the Red Sox in 2004 is off-the-charts. Part of Mitt’s strength in NH is name recognition–Shilling’s endorsement counters that to some extent.

McCain’s campaign is on life-support, but there will be another media boomlet around him since the media has pronounced Fred lazy, Rudy sleazy, and Mitt Mormon. Huck is in the spotlight now and they will be tired of him in about a week.

As a Sox fan since the late 70′s, I say the following with all respect, however I also have to include a B-slap.

You of all people should know what it takes to beat an enemy (aka the Yankees), and you are endorsing McCain?

Chuck Norris will beat your endorsement into the ground because he can.

In my world, I would vote for Huck before I vote for McCain.

IMO Shilling needs to be B-slapped.

I love John McCain. I became a Republican (as opposed to an Independen… not one of those)to vote for McCain in our primary back in 2000.

I respect John McCain. He kept faith with his fellow prisoners when the North Vietnamese would have given him early release if he only recorded one lousy interview…

As of now I can not support him for Prez. McCain-Feingold was bad enough (and it was BAD of W to sign that bill), but the shamnesty crapola was over the top.

However, as a congenital Red Sox fan I should probably re-evaluate my position after St. Curt’s endorsement… :)

Yeah, I heard about that.

Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin’s support got me elected to rattlesnake wrangler in Arizona, and equestriant-horsemen, equestrian genius Michael Matz’ endorsement helped get me elected to the position of Wild Mustang Management director. Without their endorsement, I doubt I would be where I am today, full of snake bites, horse bites, and hoof prints all over my body.

But hey, I get to work outdoors, and I do love wildlife, including snakes, and I do love horses, have ever since I was a small child.

Also McCain and his Andrew Sullivanesque obsession over ‘torture’ and his declared intention to close down Gitmo in order to please the Eurotrash as well as his Shamnesty (along with his two girl friends Trent Lott and Miss Lindsey Graham). No I would not support him in the primary but would vote for him in the election against Hillary.

I won’t be voting for McCain, but as a Yankee fan, I actually do respect Curt Schilling. He’s a stand-up guy.

Even after the horror of 2004–Allahpundit is still grinning over that–I had to give the guy props when he slipped in that endorsement for Bush while being interviewed on GMA.
