I know you non-believers think this is just a cute story, but it really is a story of faith and forgiveness.

I also realize that sometimes people don’t listen to Jesus and a 45 under the seat is also a good backup…;-)

My version is that she says “Jesus is always with me” and then pulls out her .357 and says, “Say hello to Jesus.”

I’m sure Granny’s almost assaulter would have been equally quelled by a rational plea to mutual self-interest.

I know this will sound like a non sequitor but the way to reduce crime is to teach young people that there is a higher power in this world and that they need to think about that when they are living there lives. I would love to see a regression analysis of crime rates and the banning of prayer in public schools.

This lady’s so sweet and gentle, yet brave and determined, and doesn’t fear death in the least. What an example to everyone around her.

It’d be an amazing display of poise for a person of any age, but for a 92-year-old (who’s still driving, please note)? Darn near miraculous.

Seriously though, that was awesome… and her “don’t spend it on whiskey” comment was hilarious. That’s such an old person thing to say. If it were you or me we’d say don’t spend it on crack or something… But “whiskey” is the evil of her day.

Today we do everything possible to protect our kids from everything, from bateria to merry go rounds to bullies.

Its like we lock them in a padded steril cell. Where do we expect them to learn about reality.

The elder people here will remember being exposed to bateria and virus, we would get sick and our immune systems would strengthen. We remember the bullies and learned to deal with them, each in our own way. We ran the merry go round at break neck speed, fell off and somtimes got hurt.

We learned to cope, how do our kids learn today when they are not allowed to experience??

Okay but the internal logic of this joke does not apply in this instance. There was no ’sic em, Jesus’ moment.

This grandma, and the thug, both got a blessing! That’s how God works. Win win.

I love how that generation just deals with situations and doesn’t whine and complain or play the victim card. And still going strong at 92…go, grandma!

This generation grew up in hard times and had only friends and family to bail them out, from this they learned how to deal with many bad situations.

Today few people live thru hard time and when they do ‘daddy gov’ bails them out. ? What do they do when daddy gov is broke?
