Hot Air readers in Iowa and New Hampshire: I want to hear from you

posted at 2:40 pm on December 7, 2007 by Bryan

The caucus and primary are coming up shortly, and if you have a camera or audio recorder and the time to attend any campaign events, you can help us cover it all and get stories out that the MSM won’t cover. We’ll call it distributed journalism.

Here’s how it will work. If you’re going to a campaign event in either state and you’re taking along a video camera, a still camera or an audio recorder, shoot me an email at bryan – at – hotair – dot – com to let me know about it. After the event, shoot me another email to let me know how it went and whether you captured anything that the readers here might be interested in. It could be funny, emotional, a gaffe, a moving moment, an impromptu encounter with a candidate, anything that you’ve captured and that you think Hot Air’s readers will want to see. We’ll work out the logistics of you getting the video, audio or image to me for posting here. It will help if you have access to a high speed internet connection, but it’s not absolutely necessary. We’ll credit all submissions that get used on the site.

Let’s show Helen Thomas how dangerous blogs can really be.

Keep us up to date on the schedules as they change, so there’s a better chance of getting something in.

Great idea! I’d do if for Florida. Hope you get a few takers, would love to see some unfiltered moments from the campaign in Iowa and NH!

I’d love to help but let’s face it…no one’s coming to Maine.

Bryan,
May I respectfully suggest your headline is a bit too restrictive. Should I assume the invitation is open to all readers attending these campaign events and not just Hot Air readers in Iowa and New Hampshire?

Well, sure. But those are the two that are right in front of us.

It’s time to find a pasture (or hog pen) for Helen Thomas. Her best days are behind her.

saiga on December 7, 2007 at 3:12 PM

And make sure to wear your H.A. PJs, that way we can look for ya’s on TV!

Hey, Staff, that might be an idea, huh? Sell in the store PJs with a Hotair logo on the front and personalized name across the back for times like these. And I only want 10 percent of every sale :-)

H.A. PJs

Hot Air readers in Iowa and New Hampshire: I am so #$&ing sick of hearing about you.

Just kidding.

Not really.

She’s already mummified. She belongs in a tomb buried deep within a pyramid.

Hey Bryan,

Well, I don’t live Iowa or New Hampshire. But if you never someone to cover an event in South Texas (I know Obama has been to San Antonio a few times and Romney speech yesterday was in Houston) you can count on me and my Sony Handycam. Here’s my resume.

terryannonline on December 7, 2007 at 3:48 PM

I will have to look and see who is coming to town. More dems have been coming to my area than Republicans. Do you want photos and recordings of them too?

terryannonline on December 7, 2007 at 3:48 PM

Well, when they’re in town and especially as the primary nears, keep your eyes open and get to an event if you can.

As I just emailed another reader, chances are most people will end up seeing the canned campaign events. Obviously that’s not very interesting. But no person or group of people can plan for everything, and if the unplanned occurs, it would be great to have someone from this audience one the scene to capture it.

Helen Thomas is still alive? Geez, that old hag has been around since Christ was small boy. Wrap her up, and send her to Miami.

Wuptdo on December 7, 2007 at 3:52 PM

Where I live, they don’t even have Republicans on the ballot most of the time. Saddam style democracy, invented by the Democrats.

LOL! That should have said “ever” and not “never’. Sorry.

terryannonline on December 7, 2007 at 3:53 PM

Also, Bryan, you might want to consider some type of Hot Air press pass so that you can send to a reader covering an event. So if a campaign knows they have a member in the audience that belongs to a well read blog they might give them special access.

terryannonline on December 7, 2007 at 4:00 PM

I’ll give it a try if I go to anything between now and the primary. I only own a still camera and am quite famous within the family for removing the heads and other body parts of the people I photograph—but am game if you are. I DON’T want special access though—too much publicity for me. After all, I would be in local small towns and we all know each other.

jeanie on December 7, 2007 at 4:21 PM

I’ll take one Hot Air nighty in small, please.

Tru2my2 on December 7, 2007 at 4:34 PM

Was that help us ‘jump on’ the MSM? Gladly!

countywolf on December 7, 2007 at 4:48 PM

I would help with Michigan but nobody cares about Michigan

Ever

we are not even flyover country because no one wants to land here.

If someone landed here we would hijack the plane and escape

want to buy a house?
