Rudy is not the weakest on immigration if you ask Al Sharpton:

”Rudy Giuliani’s track record on immigrant issues is reactionary and repulsive,” he said.

”He comes now in an election year posing as a friend to immigrants, but his record speaks volumes to the contrary,” he said.

Mr. Giuliani declined comment on Mr. Sharpton’s remarks. ”The Mayor does not respond to Mr. Sharpton,” said the Mayor’s campaign spokesman, Sunny Mindel.

I’m not sure Huck would be better than a Dem prez. I think he would be a disaster. I’d rather be in opposition than have to endure hime.

It is interesting to see everyone back of Mitt and make a lot of excuses for him. The Globe got the info on the illegals that obviously don’t mind telling the world their illegal status. Why couldn’t Mitt? Is he too incompetent?

If Mitt didn’t feel it would be right to profile yard workers personally? Then why not hire someone to do it for him. He seems to be lacking basic management and damage control skills. And he comes off as a hypocrit to both sides. Really dumb!

I was starting to look at Romney in a positive light, but now that’s been blown…
Before that it was Tancredo, but to hear everyone talk he won’t even get nominated.
Before Tanc. it was Huckabee for a short while, but nope, too many issues there too…
I could go on, my very first choice was Newt, and we know what happened there… I’m starting to think I should just pay a little less attention and just freaking vote Republican whether I know anything about them or not, because I sure as hell can’t stand the thought of any Dhimmicrat getting the presidency. It’s just a bit depressing at times, I know none of the Repubs are perfect, but they’re all (R. Paul excepted) a damn sight better than what the other side has to offer.

I’d say its a judgment call that could go either way depending on the employers attitude and whether they follow up and comply with the law.

Obviously they didn’t comply with the law after being notified and they were let go as a result.

Yes, Michelle’s book INVASION is a great read and she warned us back then about the difficulties we face now concerning illegal immigration. Her writing is, as always, very telling, and point blank, and clear.

And finally, as others have posted here, it is good to see Michelle on the air again. Too bad Michelle does not make daily appearances here on Hot Air like in the beginning.

To add to aengus’s response, Michelle has written widely on the topic including the book “Invasion: How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals, and Other Foreign Menaces to Our Shores”. And it is a great read. Highly recommended.

This issue is of the most crucial importance. The answers to your questions are no and no. But even if she did it would not detract from her in any way.

Mitt was notified that they hired illegals. He kept using their services without getting assurances that they only employed legal workers. They continue to use illegals to work on his home. At the same time, he goes out and attacks Rudy for running an immigration city while he was running a sanctuary mansion. That is called walking into it.

He is getting burned because he gave the company a second chance but on a more general level why is it even his place to know? Maybe he should have hired a private eye to investigate his own landscapers?

You have a point, but the owner of the company says that Romney didn’t talk to him about it like he says he did, and he did continue to use their services after he learned they hired illegals- this “second chance” thing doesn’t sound plausible to me. Also, it adds a tiny bit of fuel to the “Mormon thing” since the owner also was Mormon. Not that I give a crap about his religion, because I don’t. I’m opposed to him for being a big government, pandering flip-flopper.

There are probably more passionate issues in this campaign but none more interesting to me right at this minute. I wonder how many times in our lives we’ll get to see someone give a speech like this.
