The Paulnut, being on the proper federalist side of the issue, is not invited. Just as well. It’s not like he needs the money.
Although I’ll consider giving him ten grand anyway if he shows up and issues them this “warning.”

The issue with medical marijuana is that as soon as you begin to prescribe it as a drug, people will start the lawsuits to try to allow them to take the drug they need so desperately anywhere, including many public areas. Pharmacologically, the synthetic cannabinoids have the same properties, and the only differences is in dosing (which is a problem that can be solved) and the placebo effect.

legalize it and tax it to fund the SCHIP program! For the children!
lorien1973 on December 5, 2007 at 8:26 PM
It’s not habit forming yet the same people keep buying it over and over again….

Either you own your own body or you don’t.
Murdering a baby is a choice, but smoking a plant that grows naturally is a crime?
Our founding fathers would not take long to decide this one in favor of the potheads.

People are abusing medical marijuana laws. Anybody can get medical marijuana by basically just saying that they have this or have that. It happens in California all the time. I would like my $10,000 in cash please.
SoulGlo on December 5, 2007 at 8:38 PM
Great idea…and then guess what the Dems would do? Ban the smoking of the reefer and any advertising that goes along with the product.
Pam on December 5, 2007 at 8:40 PM
That was great. I didn’t think I would want to see Dewey Cox, but now I do.

how can we spend money to house drug offenders when pedophiles walk the streets? you wanna put the hurt on any democratic candidate? throw in legalization on the platform of the republican party. democrats will leave en masse. ok maybe not… lol
Kaptain Amerika on December 5, 2007 at 8:53 PM
yeah I guess every year the government seizes his crops. so this just keeps on happening with no resolution and no one reports it on the MSM.

You’re not missing much. I prefer drinking nowadays. It being legal to get smashed in the comfort of my home helps, too.

Wouldn’t that be like bogarting?
Mojack420 on December 5, 2007 at 9:24 PM
If pot was as hard to grow as tobacco, it would be in stores tomorrow. But as it is, they can’t control the growing and distribution so the next best thing to do is manage it with a corrupt system. Lawyers make a ton on it under the current system.
If the federal government could put a meter on a women’s vajayjay they’d set that to up as a revenue stream.
TheSitRep on December 5, 2007 at 9:31 PM
Actually, abortion laws didn’t come until much later than the Founding Fathers, and the reason for them wasn’t the pro-life “murder” fantasy. The AMA didn’t like the competition from the midwives. It was a cynical profit driven prohibition just as the 1937 marijuana prohibition is alleged to be and probably was. I hasten to add that I’m leery to believe that cheap economic motives are the reason for politics outcomes. They get alleged too much. On the other hand, that we have hear the word “ethanol” way too often suggests that cynical economic motives do result in policy in the real world.
thuja on December 5, 2007 at 9:38 PM
Just what we need. Another way to make more stupid people. If smoking tobacco made you stupid, it would be outlawed also.
pedestrian on December 5, 2007 at 9:47 PM
hey don’t blame peoples stupidity on smoking they were stupid from birth.
Mojack420 on December 5, 2007 at 9:58 PM
First they will go pick up some doritos, then go vote Repub.
Count me on on those who support decriminalization. Putting someone in jail for having possession of a naturally growing plant, that grows over much of the US natively, is silly.
Criminalizing growing of industrial hemp is even more silly.

I cannot understand why the government has ANY right to tell me that I cannot grow this plant in my own home and smoke it in my OWN HOME. The government has absolutely NO RIGHT to legislate what I do in my home as long as it harms NO ONE else. The instant I leave the house and start driving, FINE, you have a right to detain me as I MIGHT pose a risk to others, but in my own home, it is riduclous.

ThackerAgency on December 5, 2007 at 11:24 PM
Blind political partisanship must kill as many brain cells as pot does over a lifetime. That certainly doesn’t stop some of my best friends from indulging in it.
I don’t care if you smoke organic chickpeas rolled in toilet paper. Nanny state be damned.
