If you’re not talking about Internet polls, then you should probably not talk about SMS polls, since SMS is accessible via the Internet. It’s not really well known that you can text message someone from the Internet, but you can. Unfortunately this also brings in all kinds of security issues, not the least of which is, I’m sure, spoofing. SMS text messaging was never meant to be a secure form of communication, which makes it rather suspect.

Don’t worry … Ron Paul has as much chance of winning the Republican primary as Hunter or Tanc. It’s just not gonna happen.

True, but there are still people behind those cell phones. It’s not “spam” or “autodialers.” Also note that the pro-Paul cell phone bias in TXT polls works against him in normal telephone polling, because people without a land line will never be included in those polls. I haven’t had a POTS landline since 2001.

Doesn’t explain straw polls, where Paul often wins. Straw polls require that actual people go out and vote.

Some polls use IP addresses as identifiers. I don’t pay for a static IP, so mine changes all the time. Thus, I could vote…and vote…and vote…

This brings up an interesting question. If “Ronulans” are so good at dominating polls in which one person gets one vote and poll participation is voluntary, like the Fox News Channel post-debate TXT polls and straw polls, aren’t you a little bit afraid they’ll be able to do the same thing in the primaries, where one person gets one vote and poll participation is voluntary?

No, because the Fox Poll and other polls like it is one Cell Phone gets one vote. Combine this with the fact most of the other supporter’s candidates put zero value in texting, and there’s your Ron Paul landlide.
