Quote of the day

“When talking to Clintonites in recent days, I’ve noticed that they’ve come to despise Obama. I suppose that may be natural in the final weeks of a competitive campaign when much is at stake. But these people don’t need any prompting in private conversations to decry Obama as a dishonest poser. They’re not spinning for strategic purposes. They truly believe it. And other Democrats in Washington report encountering the same when speaking with Clinton campaign people. ‘They really, really hate Obama,’ one Democratic operative unaffiliated with any campaign, tells me. ‘They can’t stand him. They talk about him as if he’s worse than Bush.’ What do they hate about him? After all, there aren’t a lot of deep policy differences between the two, and he hasn’t gone for the jugular during the campaign. ‘It’s his presumptuousness,’ this operative says. ‘That he thinks he can deny her the nomination. Who is he to try to do that?’ You mean, he’s, uh, uppity? ‘Yes.’ A senior House Democratic aide notes, ‘The Clinton people are going nuts in how much they hate him. But the problem is their narrative has gone beyond the plausible.’…
“Clinton is playing with fire. In explaining to reporters that she will be tougher on Obama, she said, ‘Now the fun part starts.’ That was tasteless. It’s a remark that certainly can–and will be–used against her. And some Democratic voters might worry that the comment reveals too much desire for (political) blood.
“In politics, there can be a thin line between tough and mean.”

I’d rather be attacking Republicans, because ultimately thats what I want to do as president.

Vote Republican!
ericire12 on December 4, 2007 at 10:54 PM
Obama wins Iowa. Clinton wins the nomination. Disenfranchised Obama and Edwards voters either push a third party candidate or just sit it out. That’s my prediction.
Vizzini on December 4, 2007 at 10:55 PM
That’s just Hillary being Hillary.
What I liked was the statement that as President she would be attacking Republicans — at least, that’s what she seemed to say.

The anti war crowd is already upset with Dems. Could be a “draft” movement for Paul or even a hope that Cynthia McKinney does run green

I love the presentation of that clip, by the way. The tiny frame inset in a field of black; the washed out color; the big flag; and the fact that she’s the only one visible in the frame. It’s creepy as hell, as if she’s talking to herself.

They’ll get over their disenfranchisement very quickly when they realize a capitalist (R-USA) might actually be elected.

Power, the Clintonista drug of choice. When she gets it, that’s when the fun part will start for us.

Maybe, but I think Clinton’s imminent bridge-burning will overcome that impulse.
Vizzini on December 4, 2007 at 11:03 PM
Republicans can be just as illogically divisive. Most of HA’s posters hate most of the GOP candidates.
jgapinoy on December 4, 2007 at 11:05 PM
Sounds like the Clinton’s are racist. They think Obmba is an uppity …. they never did fill in the blank. The word uppity has been used over the years to refer to blacks who whites felt get above themselves. the Clintons true beliefs are showing through here IMO. Now tell me again why the REP get the racist tag when it is clear that the DEms are the true racists.

It illustrates the difference between a leader and a tyrant.
A leader inspires people to greatness, organizes people in an effort for the common good.
A tyrant’s goal is the destruction of his/her enemies.
rockhauler on December 4, 2007 at 11:09 PM
What does this say, if anything, to the idea that Obama is not really in it to win it and is merely playing for the second spot on the ticket, in order to create an Uber (lacking umlaut) minority ticket? Even if he really does want the chief spot, yet loses the nomination, could there be reconciliation between the two to form that ticket; or are there too many bridges burning?
Weight of Glory on December 4, 2007 at 11:09 PM
Yes… unite this divided country Madame Clinton. Thats what we need after these divisive years of the Bush presidency. Step 1, attack the republicans. Yes. Unite this country against the repugnicKKKans.
Hey, has there been polling on how americans react to an american flag background? Check that out Hillary. We wouldn’t want you to not know the most politically advantageous circumstances when you appear before the public. Hitchens forbid.

I don’t hate any of the Rep canidiates and very few (hah one) of the democratic canidiates. I just disagree with their positions and the liberal mindset. therefore that requires me to not support any Rep canidate besides Fred and Duncan. the rest are liberal RINO canidates that wouldn’t know Reagan if He smacked them upside the head.

Yeah, the Hillary Clinton has become a brand, a cottage industry if you will.
If Obama beats Hillary, what are people like Kirsten Powers going to do? I’m looking forward to your clip of KP in the next couple of weeks bashing Obama and praising Hillary. Do you think KP is nervous that Hillary will lose?

The Republican side is about policy. The Democrat side is about personality. Never underestimate the power of a bitter personal feud to break up a coalition.

I could never vote for Rudy, even if it gives the race to Hillary. I would rather go to the dance with the devil I know than the devil I don’t. I’ve had enough of liberal Rep with GWB. It doesn’t work, the press hate the liberal REp just has much has the conservative REp. Now Huck or Mitt I could vote for. niether ever dressed up in a dress, tried to take our guns, hid expenses to payoff his mistress, had 3 marriages, kids don’t speak to them etc etc. My preference is Fred and/or Duncan but Mitt and/or Huck would be a nose holding vote. Rudy I stay home.

I haven’t talked to her in ages, but she should be. He’s well funded and appealing and right in the thick of it in Iowa. The real question is, if Hillary loses and Huck wins, will KP support Obama over Huck? I’m not so sure.
Allahpundit on December 4, 2007 at 11:35 PM
She can’t run for the presidency and maintain her carefully constructed public persona. She has to get out in front of the public and the more she does the more her repugnant nature shows through. Who she really is just oozes and seeps out through her campaign and causes more and more voters to recoil. I knew that once she felt threatened the fangs would come out. We ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Mmmmmmm. Creamy.
ronsfi on December 4, 2007 at 11:36 PM
This is sweeter than honey. Mrs. Inevitable stands to be made evitable by this ‘young, nothing, how dare he?’.
I’m sad about it because I want her to win the primaries. The spectacle of her attacking a Black, not realizing the potential of alienating the Blacks is beyond ironic. But, hey, this is the smartest woman in the world, married to the best political strategist in the world.
Then there’s this – the more she does it, the more she’s compared to Mr. Nixon. That fits to perfection and drives the Clintonistas nuts.
And another thought – She might consider asking Mr. Obama to be her VP, to get back/retain the Black voters, although she’d prefer Mr. Richardson for the Latinos, but she knows too well that he’d never ask her to be his VP.
Molasses – yet, it doesn’t make me happy, just temporarily giddy. It couldn’t happen to a more cold, calculating and presumptious person. And her camp calls Mr. Obama “presumptious”. Oh, the irony.
p.s. notice how irrelevant Edwards is in all of it.
p.p.s. notice how much the media love it.

She would spent a couple of years as VP attacking Republicans and problems, and then suddenly Obama would spontaneously combust, as uppity blacks sometimes do.

Uh, white liberals are insinuating that Obama is uppity? I don’t believe you. White liberals are the most caring, loving and feeling people on this planet. Shame on you Allah. Ha, Ha.
Unlike Jesse Jackson, AL Sharpton and other blacks who “ran for the presidency” under the liberal Democrat banner, he doesn’t realize his role is to show his black face, con blacks into voting Democrat, and exit stage left. He actually believes that he can win this thing.
I predict, if Obama wins Iowa and the following primary, the liberal media and the Democrat party will unleash an attack on him that will cause a racial war within the party that will render them mute for at least two decades.
And as a black conservative I will do my best to encourage it.
Let’s burn down that “big tent”.

So now the real Hill comes out. Can’t wait to witness the implosion.
Her problem is that she will never let up, even when silence is the best option. Her base character flaws will now shine through and her stubborness and lack of good decision making under pressure will ultimately do her in. She just can’t help it.
Can you imagine her in the oval office? Brrrrrrrrr. Just a freakin nightmare scenario.

I’m not calling David Corn a liar, but I find it frickin’ tough to believe that he just talked a person in the last week who actually used the word “uppity” in regular conversation… was this person also fondly remembering where he was during President Wilson’s signing the Federal Reserve Act?
ScottMcC on December 5, 2007 at 2:22 AM
What’s with the body-language?
Tzetzes on December 5, 2007 at 3:19 AM
It’s Corn who uses it; the “operative” merely agrees.
———
OT: does Corn’s use of the word “operative” mean he’s talking to folks at the CIA again? Because Corn and his fellow travelers used to insist that the word “operative” had some sinister meaning when it was Bob Novak using it.

Hillary said that for months Hillary she has been on the receiving end of attacks.
What does she think the other candidates have been enduring? Play time at the day care center?
In appears to me that Hillary is emotionally unstable and not up to the job of President of the United States of America. She appears to be a self centered, arrogant, egotistical, condescending, vindictive, heartless, elitist blue blood socialist/communist/didactic individual who thinks that the world owes her and who expects people to bow at her feet or pay the consequences for their indiscretion.
Now she is going to start the fun part?
How will we know that the fun part has started?
When she gets her behind severely beaten by Barak Obama and Obama wins the nomination? Or will it be when the US citizenry surprise everyone and come out and elect the Republican candidate in a 50 state, decisive landslide mandate, winning more than 75% of the vote, and with the largest margin of victory, as well as the largest number of votes, say 80 million or more, in history?

William2006 on December 5, 2007 at 4:50 AM
The hatred is pretty easy to explain, actually. Clinton believes that she is entitled to the nomination (and the presidency, for that matter). Obama wants to take that from her, so, as far as she and her peeps are concerned, he’s just a thief.
morganfrost on December 5, 2007 at 6:21 AM
Hillary will never get elected. Everyone sees her for the unprincipled harridan she really is.
And for the record I don’t hate the Republican front runners. I just wont vote for them for various policy reasons.
dogsoldier on December 5, 2007 at 6:57 AM
Oh come on. Neither party is the party of the racists.
I will say that for those wanting to see Hillary crash and burn in Iowa and see Obama gain the nomination:
Be careful what you ask for. Nationally he may run like a house afire. His problem has always been getting the Dem nomination.
The RCP shows Thompson and Romney losing badly to Obama. Currently McCain and Guiliani poll almost evenly with him.
Say what you will about the MSM but a Clinton candidacy will have more of the “dutiful support” one would expect.
An Obama candidacy will bring an enthusiasm that hasn’t been seen in sometime.
Bradky on December 5, 2007 at 7:09 AM
Hitlery, hates Obama, and any Demoncrate that does not ordain her and all Republicans. Using the Fuzzy Math that is being taught today, Hitlerly hates everyone. Therefore, who is left to support her? Bill, so he can use the Lincoln bedroom to hone his, what’s the word starting with a P? oh, personality.
MSGTAS on December 5, 2007 at 7:49 AM
I would much rather be attacking Republicans. Ultimately when I am President that’s what I want to do as President.
This morning Fox & Friends picked up on her saying that when she is President she will attack Republicans, and of course they were laughing at her.
This quote is not going away.
No wonder she doesn’t want to attack Iran. Her hands will be tied with a far more threatening domestic enemy.
Ha Ha Ha.

Part of showing who the best Dem candidate is always includes fighting over who has done more to promote the use of human extermination as birth control. That is now in full swing between Obama and Hilary. Aged, post menopausal monsters all fighting for camera time to declare which Democrat gave the most support to keep the programs of death in place for unwanted children. I watched Lieberman partake in this during an election and have never been able to listen to him since.
This shines a light on the Democrats, who scream foul if we defend ourselves against those who would kill us all, yet fight to produce the records of their involvement in the millions of unwanted American children exterminated.
It’s truly sickening.

I agree completely. It doesn’t necessarily mean the Republican nominee wins. But, I would say based on the last Maryland Senate race, African Americans are getting more and more frustrated with being treated as if they are “uppity” for not supporting another white liberal.

Will the real Hillary please stand up?
For Hill & Bill it was do as I say, not do as I do. When it came to actually providing health insurance to the serfs who catered to Queen Hillary while in the White House, her attitude was “let them take aspirin”.
She’s always been a deceptive and dishonest vulture, feasting on the cadavers left behind in her thirst for power.
Her heart must be black as coal.
