We should all hope Al Franken is elected Senator. Minnesota is gonna field a crazy ass liberal anyway, so why should we hope the Democrats run somebody smart and effective? Al Franken is a hammerhead on the issues who thinks he can get by on a wink and a joke. If we must have Democrats in the Senate, by all means lets make them dopes like Franken who think they can get their way by being a smartass. I relish the thought of pummeling this buffoon on the facts for six years and in so doing, undermining the Democratic Party and liberals in general.

Send in the clowns, I say. It’s got to be clowns.

Anyone remember the SNL skit where Franken was sitting next to Jane Curtin skewering cockroaches and boiling them alive? Season 5, episode 5. I wonder if he'll do the same sitting next to Pelosi during a news conference. .

I live in Minnesota and know first hand how far-left people here try to be. People here try to out-stupid Milwaukee/Madison and San Fran. Minneapolis is a lost cause, with St Paul close behind, but if this can play throughout the state over and over, Minnesota just might save itself another national embarrasment. (Mondale, Jesse, Ellison, The Vikings(lol) and on and on)

As a former Minnesotan, I can attest to the fact that this moron will probably get elected. I love the lakes and enjoy a visit now and again, but I’m really glad I don’t live there anymore. The electorate is just a tad whacked out….

He makes Fred! Thompson look as dynamic as Richard Simmons. On his Air America show, they had to give him a co-host to keep both the listeners awake as he rambled on.

It’s difficult seeing him “rallying” his supporters and whipping them into a frenzy.

As a Minnesotan myself, I can’t imagine anyone voting for Franken… he wasn’t any good as a comedian let alone a Senator. But this is the state of Keith Ellison, Jesse Ventura, Paul Wellstone, and the only state that carried George McGovern.

Most frighting of all is you still see many cars with Wellstone and Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.

On the other hand we did elect Rod Grams to office both to the house and Senate.
