Video: “Franken vs. Franken”
posted at 2:03 pm on December 3, 2007 by Allahpundit
Here’s the new one from Norm Coleman’s campaign via Captain Ed, who notes that Coleman hasn’t exactly been Churchillian in his steadfastness on the war.
A solid shot, but not enough to cure the depression that stems from the fact that the GOP now finds itself having to run attack ads against Al Franken.

Blowback

Priceless ! All the money Air America stole from little kids couldn’t buy a better political ad.

That’s GOLD.

Great, but what’s with the laugh track in the last seconds? It’s not a jokey ad, this is serious stuff.
Clark1 on December 3, 2007 at 2:15 PM
Some solid hits, some glancing blows. Not bad.
MikeZero on December 3, 2007 at 2:17 PM
Ahhhh, clarity of thought.
conservnut on December 3, 2007 at 2:18 PM
So we actually have to take this putz seriously?
Unbelievable.
That was the point. Read the last caption.
Professor Blather on December 3, 2007 at 2:22 PM
What a pile of mush. Who would vote for this doof?
RobCon on December 3, 2007 at 2:23 PM
Yeah, well, considering the caliber of talent they have in the Minnesota GOP, the fact that they have to do this is wholly unsurprising.
Bad Candy on December 3, 2007 at 2:23 PM
Given that he’s running for Senate, what’s wrong with making ads against him?
ballz2wallz on December 3, 2007 at 2:24 PM
With Franken doing the talking, you just never can always sometimes tell.
leanright on December 3, 2007 at 2:30 PM
Are most Minnesota voters just too young to remember Stuart Smalley?
I can’t believe anybody can look at Franken and take him seriously.
Professor Blather on December 3, 2007 at 2:36 PM
Pretty sad comment on our electorate that a confirmed idiot (see above contradictions in the video) is taken seriously by ANYONE.
fred5678 on December 3, 2007 at 2:41 PM
I’ll tell you who will vote for this piece-of-s***. I live in MN and 52% of Minnesotans will vote for him.
cjs1943 on December 3, 2007 at 2:58 PM
Dude. That sucks. But its kind of funny. That tool might be your Senator?
(chuckle)
It’d probably be way less funny if I lived in Minnesota.
Professor Blather on December 3, 2007 at 3:13 PM
As a Minnesotan myself, I can’t imagine anyone voting for Franken… he wasn’t any good as a comedian let alone a Senator. But this is the state of Keith Ellison, Jesse Ventura, Paul Wellstone, and the only state that carried George McGovern.
Most frighting of all is you still see many cars with Wellstone and Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers.
On the other hand we did elect Rod Grams to office both to the house and Senate.

I think (fill in talking point here)…
I think (fill in talking point here)…
I think (fill in talking point here)…
Nobody is gonna pull tape on me, right? No one is gonna hold me accountable for my own words. Nobody is going to do to me what did to them, right?
…’cause I smart. I’m funny and gosh darn it, people like me…..
ej_pez on December 3, 2007 at 3:32 PM
Al Frankenberry’s comments are nothing more than Democrat talking points. Most if not all Dems are and have been saying the same thing.
Monkey see – Monkey do.

This guy was awful on SNL, a failure on Air America so what else is left, but to try and get elected as a Liberal.
Nothing to offer, hates this country, but hates Bush more….and that’s his platform.
Hening on December 3, 2007 at 3:59 PM
What struck me was that in some of the images he (tried to) look thoughtful !
SIJ6141 on December 3, 2007 at 4:14 PM
He makes Fred! Thompson look as dynamic as Richard Simmons. On his Air America show, they had to give him a co-host to keep both the listeners awake as he rambled on.
It’s difficult seeing him “rallying” his supporters and whipping them into a frenzy.

As a former Minnesotan, I can attest to the fact that this moron will probably get elected. I love the lakes and enjoy a visit now and again, but I’m really glad I don’t live there anymore. The electorate is just a tad whacked out….
commonsensehoosier on December 3, 2007 at 5:01 PM
wow, not only is it on point, but it’s aestheticly competent as well. who did this?
jummy on December 3, 2007 at 5:07 PM
I live in Minnesota and know first hand how far-left people here try to be. People here try to out-stupid Milwaukee/Madison and San Fran. Minneapolis is a lost cause, with St Paul close behind, but if this can play throughout the state over and over, Minnesota just might save itself another national embarrasment. (Mondale, Jesse, Ellison, The Vikings(lol) and on and on)

I thought Alf Ranken was on O’Reilly last Friday.
Seriously, the puppet told better jokes and made more sense than this tool.
clghitis on December 3, 2007 at 5:37 PM
Are you kidding, AP? This is hilarious! He not only takes both sides, he takes all three…twice!
Jaibones on December 3, 2007 at 8:16 PM
I’ve actually always thought Franken could be funny, but that’s more than just flip flopping, that’s total incoherence on the most pressing issue of the day.
Dudley Smith on December 3, 2007 at 8:28 PM
Anyone remember the SNL skit where Franken was sitting next to Jane Curtin skewering cockroaches and boiling them alive?
Season 5, episode 5.
I wonder if he’ll do the same sitting next to Pelosi during a news conference.

Sometimes it’s hard for an actor to remember which persona he’s in.
Tzetzes on December 3, 2007 at 9:11 PM
We should all hope Al Franken is elected Senator. Minnesota is gonna field a crazy ass liberal anyway, so why should we hope the Democrats run somebody smart and effective? Al Franken is a hammerhead on the issues who thinks he can get by on a wink and a joke. If we must have Democrats in the Senate, by all means lets make them dopes like Franken who think they can get their way by being a smartass. I relish the thought of pummeling this buffoon on the facts for six years and in so doing, undermining the Democratic Party and liberals in general.
Send in the clowns, I say. It’s got to be clowns.
