Heh. Good point–the word “saboteur”, for instance, wasn’t coined until the French railway strike of 1910, so it’s fairly unlikely that a guy killed in 1865 ever used it. But yes, an excellent sentiment nonetheless.

You mean something factually incorrect managed to get on the internet? How’d that happen and what is George Bush doing to make sure it doesn’t happen again! Henry Waxman should be holding hearings to find the guilty parties! This should have been a YouTube question during that last GOP debate! It’s almost as if the surge is working. But Harry Reid says not so. The surge “hasn’t accomplished its goals,” he claims, apparently under the misapprehension that the 20,000+ additional US troops were tasked to capturing and holding the Iraqi……

Uhh, problem with the premise of that question. What man?

Think about it. Have any elected leaders come forward to help explain to the American people the threat of Islam and the seriousness of The Long War? No. None of them have. Because they know that is not “politically correct”. Or they are simply completely ignorant about the issue. But if anyone in a leadership position in government actually understands the seriousness of this Long War and is not coming forth to press the issue (a la the leaders who stepped forward to warn the world of the Nazi threat), they are as guilty as the Democrats.

While I wholeheartedly condemn Harry Reid for either acting deliberately evil or ignorantly partisan, there is blame to go around. The Republicans have done absolutely nothing to advance the necessary debate that needs to happen in the West in the face of the threat from totalitarian Islam.

This is perhaps my single biggest reason for supporting Fred Thompson for President, he has been to all of the middle east countries where Islam is gathering it’s strength and he does understand and recognize the threat that radical militant Islam posses to America. I think you are exactly correct that the vast majority of democrats and republicans alike do not understand or recognize the threat that radical militant Islam posses to America. What we need is a POTUS that understand and recognize that threat.
