Things were actually getting better when Pelosi and co. were saying they were hopelessly lost?

Past tense??? The “rats” are still stuck on quagmire-

Democrats are increasingly bailing on their previously held view that the troop surge in Iraq has been a “failure,” but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid isn’t ready to jump on the bandwagon with other Democrats who say the surge has worked.

“The surge hasn’t accomplished its goals,” Reid said. “… We’re involved, still, in an intractable civil war.”

MR. RUSSERT: Iraq, is the military surge working?

So..the entire “Iraq is on the brink of a civil war” and the “botched” administration policy in Iraq, Rethuglicans-have-ruined-America-forever campaign that the Dems ran last year was actually a lie?

That would mean that we’d have to have end strength at least twice as large as is needed to fulfil our current wartime needs. Senator Webb, are you willing to sponsor legislation increasing end strength to those numbers?

That’s precisely the Democrat reason for pushing for a draft. The “rats” know that a draft isn’t going to occur for a variety of reasons not the least of which is the expense, public opinion, and the full-throttled objections from the professional military leadership. By pushing such ideas which, on the surface seem benign, Congress is essentially seeking to stage a coup where CINC powers become the responsiblity of Congress.

Webb is as big a coward as the rest of his party members. They are unwilling to come off the defeatist bandwagon but they are also unwilling to see these operations through to the point where the stated goals can be met. In short, they are willing to sacrifice strategic long-term interests for short-term political gain. Jim Webb, Jack Murtha, and the rest of these people disgust me to no end. They should all be brought up on treason charges for the way they use the military as pawns in their quest for poltical power and contributions from their special interest groups.

And he isn’t referring to American troops being the winners either, is he?!

It’s pretty simple: if you want America to win, you don’t vote for people whose election strategy depends on the other guys winning!

It’s bad enough we aren’t allowed to shoot these traitors, but we sure as hell should never vote for them!

SEN. WEBB: Or you can, you can develop a rotational policy after, after five years of doing this that’s going to ensure people the same amount of time at home before they go.

So, let me do a little bit of simple math here: time at home = time over there, so troops over there + troops at home = 2X troops over there. That would mean that we’d have to have end strength at least twice as large as is needed to fulfil our current wartime needs. What is going to happen here is that the Democrat party will make lots of noise but do nothing except run out the clock with this administration. After the first of the year the “rats” will appease their supporters by refusing to pass a supplemental and play a quick game of chicken where the DOD shuts down operations to fund the war the Democrats refuse to fund- but that won’t last long considering this is an election year. In the end the “rats” will pass continuing resolution after continuing resolution so that they never have to submit a budget funding the war but never being put in the position of defunding the war either.

Its never been about the war its been about electing democrats to power. The democrats had no problem with Clinton bombing Iraq, Sudan, Afganistan and Serbia

This election cycle’s overused term: too (interject adjective here) by half.
