Here’s the schedule. There’s a huge battle in the early games when Jax goes to Indianapolis. If the Colts win they’re all but a lock for the AFC South; a Jags win ties the division in a knot. A Seattle win over the Eagles, who are coming off almost beating the Patriots, puts them in a good spot atop the NFC Worst. The Cowboys are out of action today after beating the Packers, so that’s all I got for Sunday. Monday, the Patriots host the Ravens. 12-0 looks very likely.

And the Skins fight like hell for a playoff spot…
John from OPFOR on December 2, 2007 at 12:36 PM
Happy Sunday!
May the best team (cough-Colts) win!
And I guess I’ll cheer for the Ravens as well, mostly out of spite.
tikvah on December 2, 2007 at 12:37 PM
oh and Bryan, guess who has skins/cowboys tickets for the 30th? Right behind the Dallas bench. Will definitely be screaming “Bryan Preston hates you TO!” the entire game.
John from OPFOR on December 2, 2007 at 12:37 PM
GOOOOOO CHARGERS!!!
Defector01 on December 2, 2007 at 12:38 PM
Go Jags. You deserve it.
BadgerHawk on December 2, 2007 at 12:39 PM
C’mon Vikes!

McNab is out……good for Philly….very good for Philly.
Limerick on December 2, 2007 at 12:57 PM
No one excited about Rams vs. Falcons? Thats ok. neither is St. Louis where it has been blacked out, a no-longer novel event even though it was only last year that the first such black-out occurred since the Rams first came here. This as we struggle through our hang-over from last nights precipitous drop from lofty heights.
Nyog_of_the_Bog on December 2, 2007 at 1:05 PM
Okay, first of all… GO BEARS!
Next, I have to root today for all the teams which are 6-5 or 5-6 (with whom the Bears are fighting for a playoff spot)
So that means…
GO VIKINGS! (Beat dem Lions)
GO BUCS! (Beat dem Saints)
GO BROWNS! (Beat dem Cardinals)
GO BILLS! (Beat dem ‘Skins)
GO SEAHAWKS! (Beat dem Eagles)
Oh and did I mention, GO BEARS!
Side note, that was a nice tribute the Redskins had for Sean Taylor… starting with 10 players on Defense for the 1st Defensive play, a symbol that Sean Taylor was with them in spirit as the 11th player. Very nice tribute.

Hmm, are you regretting that now? 1 pass, 1 INT. Bad omen?
Michael in MI on December 2, 2007 at 1:11 PM
Forget the NFL
And I don’t even like football….
Kini on December 2, 2007 at 1:12 PM
LOL…nope…I’m a Texan..so Philly winning or losing doesn’t matter…..I just don’t trust McNab…….I’ll leave it up to your imagination.
Limerick on December 2, 2007 at 1:28 PM
Anyone else????? I could care less if #89 makes a mean quiche, or if #12’s middle name is Leslie…..CALL THE GAME!…..All this color stuff makes me sick.
Limerick on December 2, 2007 at 2:05 PM
LET’S GO BUFFALO!
Sadly, I am a dedicated Bills fan. :(

Oh man I could not agree with you more. Prior to this season, I used to so look forward to MNF. Now? Not so much. And it has nothing to do with the crappy matchups that have ended up happening. I just like football. I’ll watch crappy teams play anytime.
But ESPN has turned MNF into a joke, in my opinion. There are many times that it seems like I am watching a game, but the announcers are sitting there just chatting away about whatever they want, not even paying attention to the game. And then all those stupid guests they have in the booth and all the activist things they push during the game and etc etc etc.
Most of this season, I have been watching NBC’s Chuck and Heroes and don’t even turn to the game until 10pm EST after Heroes is over. And then I usually don’t watch it, but keep it on while I do other things around the house.
And don’t even get me started on NBC’s Sunday Night Football nonsense. Ugh.
Sports used to be the one place you could escape from politics and activism. But now that refuge is even gone.
Luckily though I haven’t had any issues with Sunday football here. The games during the day anyway. I can barely stand the NBC Sunday Night broadcast. And that intro song they have is really annoying. Plus they ripped off the idea of MNF’s intro song. How original.
Sunday Night Football should go back to ESPN and MNF back to ABC. And someone needs to tell them to quit it with the color commentary that has NOTHING to do with football and just stick to the game.

Go Seahawks!! anybody wannna trade defences? geez.
ajmontana on December 2, 2007 at 3:27 PM
Just like last week, Feeley throws the game away.
Kowboy on December 2, 2007 at 4:05 PM
Paint it as sign, we’ll look for you on the tube! I say this knowing Bryan dislikes the Super Steelers who, by the way, will be squaring off with Cinci tonight. And since Michelle does not sit in for The Factor any longer, this is my new excuse for grilling a steak (even if it is rain/sleet/snowing)!
And Kini, my niece (Goddaughter) will be moving out there to work for some democrap state senator! We’ll see how long that last as she is a true conservative!!
Zorro on December 2, 2007 at 4:06 PM
Tatupu is the man!!!!! whew… Hawks tried to give me a coronary.
ajmontana on December 2, 2007 at 4:07 PM
3 down, 3 to go!
Most importantly… GO BEARS!
Michael in MI on December 2, 2007 at 4:09 PM
your welcome Michael in mi. :)
ajmontana on December 2, 2007 at 4:12 PM
Indeed, because if they win, Dallas clinches the NFC East.
Kowboy on December 2, 2007 at 4:14 PM
Because I took them and the short 2, I agree. I would like another week above .500 (8-2 ATS after the early games), and to finally get above .500 for the year (started the week 3 under).
Bad Eli’s back, and Bad Rex isn’t. 7-0 Bears.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 4:24 PM
42 – 10 Final, Vikes over the Lions? Ouch!
normsrevenge on December 2, 2007 at 4:35 PM
Too little, too late :-)
Thanks for ensuring the only team that can possibly beat the Packers for the division is the Bears, though.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 4:47 PM
That’s why I hate replay challenges. The following play was run before the refs saw the flag.

steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 5:01 PM
Yeah, even as a Bears fan, I can see that was ridiculous. I would be pissed were I a Giants fan, especially if the Bears stop the Giants somehow from scoring a TD here.
Michael in MI on December 2, 2007 at 5:03 PM
And oh man was that a pretty pass to Hester on the last Bears’ drive. Too bad Hester dropped it. He’s just learning the WR position though, so I can’t fault him too much in not anticipating how the ball was coming down to him. But wow was that pretty and makes me look forward to this offense as it keeps maturing.
Michael in MI on December 2, 2007 at 5:04 PM
Full disclosure – I’ve got a conflict of interest on this game (I’ve got the Bears +2, and a Bears loss-or-tie gives the Pack the division).
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 5:05 PM
He overran the pass. Had he been a half-step slower, it would’ve been an over-the-shoulder catch for 6 instead of a doink off the shoulder.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 5:06 PM
That bogus challenge only delayed things. Would be funny if the time taken off between the touchdown that was wiped and the touchdown that counted cost the Bears just enough time to score at the end of the half.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 5:08 PM
Big reversal for the Giants; upon further review, the ball didn’t touch the ground, touchdown Giants.
16-14 Bears.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 7:07 PM
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 7:07 PM
Don’t worry. Eli will throw another INT next possession.
TheBigOldDog on December 2, 2007 at 7:13 PM
Not quite; they’re down to the Bears’ 2.
Just kick the field goal; I’m greedy and want both the Giants’ win to give the Packers the division and the one-point win to save my Bears +2 call.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 7:21 PM
I didn’t want the touchdown; 21-16 Giants with 1:33 left.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 7:24 PM
And the Giants win. Good news for us Packer fans; we’ve clinched the NFC North as we hold the tiebreakers over both Detroit and Minnesota, and Chicago can’t catch us.
steveegg on December 2, 2007 at 7:40 PM
While I’ll be darned! Eli made a liar out of me. I had the Giants and I had already marked it down for a loss!
TheBigOldDog on December 2, 2007 at 8:03 PM
Raiders beat the hated Broncos. They didn’t just beat ‘em, they bloody well destroyed them. Screw you Shanahan.
Krydor on December 2, 2007 at 8:08 PM
The steak is gone, the game is on. Cinci at Pittsburgh.
Zorro on December 2, 2007 at 8:27 PM
Steelers had a slow start but lead at the half, 17-7. Rain.
Zorro on December 2, 2007 at 10:00 PM
