Shock poll: Republicans report much better mental health than Democrats

posted at 11:57 am on November 30, 2007 by Allahpundit

Note: It’s not that the Democrats’ mental health actually is suboptimal. It’s that Democrats themselves think it is.

After so many years of bitter partisanship, it’s nice to see them finally agree with the boss on something.

No doubt the explanation will be that it’s all that darned reality the community has based itself in that’s got them down. I wonder if the real explanation isn’t something else, though — something that implicates the big A as well. Hmm.

Knowin’ Libs are distressed–priceless.

Ex-tex on November 30, 2007 at 12:01 PM

This explains their ideology.

Republicans report much better mental health than Democrats

Subject to revision if either Rudycrapo or Huckocchio gets the Republican Presidential nomination, of course.

MB4 on November 30, 2007 at 12:03 PM

It is because Republicans don’t read books.

Limerick on November 30, 2007 at 12:03 PM

LOL – Reid as a poster child for mental health. “Moms and Das, don’t let this happen to your kids.” Think of the children.

BobK on November 30, 2007 at 12:04 PM

I wonder what the numbers would be if the libs were not allowed to down their handfuls of anti-depressants every day.

What a pathetic bunch of self-hating, guilt-ridden morons.

progressoverpeace on November 30, 2007 at 12:04 PM

Reading this bring warm feelings to my heart. Hee hee or as the boss says…”Snort!” -lol (~B)

Ha!!! Something to think about, eh, AP?? :)

Or go to Nuanced movies, or listen to Air America or Keith what-his-name on MSNBC, or go to school for a zillion years for a completely pointless degree (like philosophy). Or invite Ahmadinejad to speak as a “free speech exercise.”

Killing small animals and stealing kids’ health care really is quite therapeutic.

HerrMorgenholz on November 30, 2007 at 12:28 PM

Well we don’t call ‘em libtards for nuthin’.

Tony737 on November 30, 2007 at 12:37 PM

Or as Michelle would say “Unhinged”.

Tony737 on November 30, 2007 at 12:37 PM

Confirmed: Liberalism is a mental disorder!

JammieWearingFool on November 30, 2007 at 12:45 PM

Are we ignoring the simultaneous trend of poorer mental health vs. church attendance?

I see that church attendance helps Democrats not at all, while going every week gives Repubs a 13 point bump over not going at all.

TexasDan on November 30, 2007 at 12:59 PM

Does this say more about Democrats or the churches they attend?

TexasDan on November 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM

I have suspected this for a long time. If you listen long enough to the Democratic party, it starts to sound like a collection of people with borderline personality disorder being lead by narcissists. Nothing else really explains the idolizing of the Clintons in the face of damning evidence of corruption and moral rot and at the same time the absolutely irrational “Bush Derangement Syndrome”. It makes sense when you understand that they have spilt the Clintons as “all good” and Bush as “all bad”.

Then it reminds me of the line out of the Bat Fink cartoon (with a twist): “Your logic (bullets) can not harm me! My mind is (wings are) like a shield of steel!

Listening to these people over the years has had me convinced that the Democrats would not only seem to be more appealing to people with mental illness (particularly in areas of regulation of one’s response to emotions as the Democrats seem to strive the for emotional rather than the logical response) but they seem to be ACTIVELY doing things that would RECRUIT that social demographic.

I have suspected Dems are nuts for years. It must make one go mad when your own thoughts are not logical.

TexasDan on November 30, 2007 at 12:59 PM

Good observation. Possible answer: Dems worship at the Church of BDS.

Before even clicking on the link, I thought “they’re unhinged“.

There’s really no better way to describe them. Nov. 2008 will do them in completely. The couches are cracked now; by then they’ll break down.

Entelechy on November 30, 2007 at 2:11 PM

This one you won’t see on NBC.

Liberalism is injurious to your health? Who knew? And when?

They’re probably not even considering that liberalism is the gateway drug to communism, leading to violent death.

Big A …. you still have a 50-50 shot at being happy.

burnitup on November 30, 2007 at 2:49 PM

err.. I mean having good mental health

I think it’s more of a chicken/egg scenario. Was socialism spawned from insanity? Or does socialism just attract all the crazies?

Wingo on November 30, 2007 at 2:51 PM

Socialism is an interesting concept. Basically you generally have a narcissist at the head (be it Castro or Stalin or Mao or Chavez or whoever) and you gain support initially by being the champion of the poor. You basically promise them that you will steal from the rich and give to the poor. Since there are ALWAYS more poor than rich, this gives you an automatic majority. Now the key thing is to KEEP them poor without them getting upset about it … that’s the part that nobody has been able to master for longer than a generation (save possibly Castro).

Wingo on November 30, 2007 at 2:51 PM

Heh.

The difference doesn’t make any difference.

leanright on November 30, 2007 at 5:13 PM

Church attendance seems to be of great benefit to Reps, but not for Dems. That’s because of guilt–the Bible is very clear on abortion, homosexuality, & the sanctity of marriage.

jgapinoy on November 30, 2007 at 5:38 PM

Duh!?!

Winebabe on November 30, 2007 at 6:42 PM

Proof positive that liberalism is a mental disease.
