Press releases? Heck, they’d be calling for a special prosecutor. Shumer would be piously intoning about “election tampering,” Harry Reid would be calling for Jimmy Carter to observe not just the elections, but all the debates as well, and the Daily Kos/DU crowd would be braying that this was “proof” that Bushitler is planning to not yield his office in 2009. It would be 24/7 on all the big networks for three days straight. Instead? “It echoes in the wells… of silence.”

And please note: That screencap was made on August 13, three weeks after the Democratic YouTube debate.

CNN probably did not choose where their ad is displayed. Google knows DU is a political site and shows the ad there. Unless you can show that CNN specifically targeted DU for this google ad; then the case here is very weak.

It ends up being less an argument for not letting Democrats ask questions of Republicans than for letting Republicans also ask questions of Democrats.

DING!!! We have a winner.

Our guys should take the high road on this “scandal” and praise how great the republic where any voter can ask a question. Then, in the next breath mutter something like “except for the Democratic field who for some reason were afraid to take questions on FOX.”

This is beyond ridiculous now. It proves Republicans were completely in the right about their original take on these YouTube debates before the caved in. That’s one good thing we can take away from it.

Now, can we have a debate where actual Republicans/conservatives ask the questions of the Republican candidates?

I know, that’s a really radical suggestion, but maybe someone should try it.
