Video: Is Europe a country?

posted at 10:04 pm on November 29, 2007 by Allahpundit

Proof, as if any was needed, that an attractive woman can make moments of even the most painful stupidity seem charming.

Are they sure it’s a “delusion,” though?

When you are that cute you can get away with anything.
Did she even finish the 5th grade.

She’s for Fred! Or Huck!

Yup. Poor girl had a rough childhood…ahem…at least that is what my wife tells me. I, of course, don’t follow American Idol garbage.

Thanks, dude.

Spirit of 1776 on November 29, 2007 at 10:25 PM

yeah she’s my neighbor. she’s salt of the earth. But really, that’s her shtick too. Sometimes I think she’s just pretending to be stupid because she knows that is what the people pay attention to.

We have lots of cute dumb girls in the south, but they are sweet like candy.

ThackerAgency on November 29, 2007 at 10:25 PM

She wasn’t really that far off. Europeans don’t even know if the EU is a country or if France, Hungary, … are. They do want to have it both ways, though.

And immediately give them “Ron Paul ’08″ T-shirts. They would then be forced to sit at a computer and vote over and over again in various on-line polls.

I mean, c’mon…how does one even graduate high school with her vast geographical knowledge? I know so many like her…who can’t spell the simplest words…who know very little about the countries of the world…know nothing of politics…

I used to love that show “Street Smarts”…and seeing just how dumb some people are.

The question we here should be asking is: Is the United States of America a country?

Will it be in 25 years?

Of course Buda and Pest are like Minneapolis and St. Paul, really two cities separated by river.

I’m watching the Frat Boys versus the Fifth Graders. One Frat boy said that when standing on the equator the sun rises in the ….. north.

People!

This is the gal that is setting herself up to be the next Dolly Parton. You know, that very sharp business mogul that happens to have done the procedures to get big boobs. Kelly is simply not that stupid and pleasant enough to look at that you can get beyond that annoying twang and feigned ignorance.

highhopes on November 29, 2007 at 11:34 PM

So, she wasn’t home schooled?

Kini on November 29, 2007 at 11:44 PM

She’s pretty, is blonde, has purchased large boobs…she could probably get away with murder.

For the record, I sort of sound like her twangy-wise, but with a deeper voice.

And yes, guys, she may be cute, but she’s gonna get old one day and still be dumb.

baldilocks on November 29, 2007 at 11:56 PM

I laughed out loud several times. I love that show!

Ordinary1 on November 29, 2007 at 11:57 PM

She’s brilliant when her ankles are behind her neck.

roninacreage on November 30, 2007 at 12:04 AM

Jeeze, I showed this clip to my wife and she guess who it was when she opened her mouth and spoke…., and to boot, my wife tells me Pickler got a boob job….. to enhance her career…

And she says I’m spending too much time on Hot Air…..

Jeeeezzze….

Kini on November 30, 2007 at 12:04 AM

As I recall she did pretty well and was very charming throughout the show. I believe she’s smarter than she acts.

They had Regis Philbin on this show also this year. He was telling a story about how when he was in grade school, during morning prayers, he’d take out his pocket knife and carve his initials in the teacher’s desk.

This blonde girl Sierra burst out ‘YOU BROUGHT A KNIFE TO SCHOOL! We can’t even bring pen caps to school!’

Canadian Infidel on November 30, 2007 at 12:10 AM

Funny. During that season’s American Idol (which I was forced to watch – which is far worse than water-boarding), I really thought her dumb blonde routine was just a shtick.

Obviously, I was wrong.

For what its worth, ladies … smart is sexy. Smart can cancel out a lack of cute and hawt … but stupid can cancel out a whole lot of hawtness.

For example, some of us may rudely comment on our own Michelle’s “hawtitude” … but rest assured, its her brains and wit that’s the real turn-on.

If she had the intellect of Kellie Pickler, I wouldn’t be typing this. Smart is sexy. Dumb ain’t.

highhopes on November 29, 2007 at 11:34 PM

Dolly’s boobs are real, she has a brain, she can actually sing (and has written some of the best songs in the last two decades) … and PicklerWorld just sounds stupid.

Professor Blather on November 30, 2007 at 12:20 AM

This was so painful to watch. I kept thinking of our Janos Hunyadi.

Indeed. Grandma said, often “no one can take away the degree from one’s pocket, and the stupidity from one’s head”.

Gosh, I’m still in pain. It reminds me of a question on another show “In your particular neighborhood, where does the sun rise?”. Believe it or not, some said West, South, North, and by default someone said “in the East”, then.

Entelechy on November 30, 2007 at 12:32 AM

Please. That woman is SO playing you all. She is not that dumb.

Really, boys, you are never, ever going to catch onto our acts, are you?

Meryl Yourish on November 30, 2007 at 12:33 AM

either 80% of you are hillary plants or I’m embarrassed to be part of Hot Air and the conservative movement…

amend2 on November 30, 2007 at 12:37 AM

No one is that stupid. It had to be an act.

Usually when someone plays stupid, there is a glint of knowing, irony, or mischief in her eye. But this girl is glintless.

She’s a self-proclaimed beauty school dropout. And, when ignorant, this appears to be how she acts. I didn’t watch her season of American Idol — I mainly know of her due to the complaints of Frank J and wife — but I don’t think it’s “an act” in the sense that she knows better. It’s just how she is. One of the most clever women I’ve met came from the South, but every place has dumb folk. In this country, we put them on TV.

calbear on November 30, 2007 at 12:41 AM

Meryl Yourish on November 30, 2007 at 12:33 AM

So for how many years can a person play absolutely stupid … before we all get to conclude that she (or he) is, in fact, absolutely stupid?

Just wonderin’. Cuz I’m really hoping Pamela Anderson actually has a secret Mensa card.

Professor Blather on November 30, 2007 at 12:45 AM

But this girl is glintless.

Then again, she could just be the female equivalent of Andy Kaufman. Though after a while it might become difficult to drop the act.

William2006 on November 30, 2007 at 6:07 AM

It takes some work to learn facts of spelling, geography, etc. She, for whatever reason, didn’t care to work for it, and wasn’t required. That is public education and her family.

She’s smart enough to know she couldn’t even try to answer, and smart enough to know that ‘ditzy’ was the best look for her on national tv. So, yes, it’s an act, and yes, she’s ‘dumb,’ or not knowledgable. Both are right.

And both smart and dumb are sexy. Dumb is sexy for the short-term. Smart is sexy for life-long.

bloggless on November 30, 2007 at 7:51 AM

I imagine she’ll be touring with George Clooney soon and telling us how to vote. Whenever someone mentions a celebrity endorsement of a political candidate, or I see an article about what this or that celebrity says about global warming, Iraq, etc., I always think, “Do they realize that the person they are quoting had two choices in life: Become an actress/singer/talk show host or hope she makes it into the management program at the Tastee Freeze?

She’s dumb, but in the entertainment industry, she is far from uniquely dumb.

Rational Thought on November 30, 2007 at 7:54 AM

Since I don’t watch American Idiot, I only knew of Kelly Pickler by comments on other blogs. I had heard that she wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, but frankly the episode linked above had me wondering if anyone could possibly be that stupid and still walk upright. Apparently she can sing well and she’s very pretty. It’s a good thing, or she’d be rounding up grocery carts in the parking lot, assuming she could figure out which end to push.

Hubby and I are fans of the Pickler. She’s a sweetie.

I don’t think she’s the smartest monkey in the cage, (obviously), but I do hope she stays out of trouble and becomes a successful country singer.

If she is able to pull away from the mess of her Mama and Daddy’s pathetic lives and make a good career for herself, she’s got my support. You Go Girl!
