According to Fox News this morning, there are groups of concerned citizens mobs running loose in Khartoum, equipped with the usual assortment of attitude adjustment devices clubs and sharp objects, who are displeased with going psychotic over their government’s “lenient” treatment of the teacher infidel and want her to face true Islamic Sharia justice be beheaded in the main square of the capital city.

Okay, I’ve calmed down a bit, backed away from my kneejerk emotional response, and now admit that I went off the deep end on this one. Not that anyone’s reading this thread anymore, but I felt compelled to retract my earlier over-the-top response. Aero out. ;-)

That teacher is lucky that she is not getting the lashing. And our tax dollars are going to the Sudan! We must remember that in the Sudan, slavery still exists. Non-Muslims are bought and sold on the slave market.

BTW-Where is the big, bad, brave National Organization of Worthless Women? About a day ago, they issued a statement on this matter…their statement was that they have no statement about this matter. Why am I not surprised? Because the NOWW only takes on womens’ causes that guarentee double standards and court room victories for them. And also they are afraid of the hardcore Islamo-Nazis coming after them.

Still, this doesn’t change the fact that if you live in a Muslim country, you should knew full well that these charming people you’re trying to help are looking for an excuse to humiliate you 24/7. Naming an inanimate object Mohammed? Did this moron just get off the plane?

I think in light of this the question posed by the Muslim woman/likely Democratic plant about what the US can do to improve its image in the Muslim world becomes even more pressing…….

Especially since we still give aid to countries where supporting terrorists is okay but being raped is a crime.

We should have stopped giving them aid a long time ago, too. I would have been happy to call the recent rape case a “last straw” as well. Something’s gotta tip the balance at some point. I don’t care what it is. These kinds of cases would be useful catalysts since they get international attention and get outraged emotions among both conservatives and liberals riding high. Yes, we should collectively be far more outraged about genocide and support of terrorism, but those don’t seem to resonate with the American public. These relatively piddling cases do, at least for a short time. I’m just tired of rewarding this kind of behavior with our hard-earned tax dollars year after year after year.

It’s called the last straw.

This case is a lot of things, but it would be pathetic if it were “the last straw.” Especially since we still give aid to countries where supporting terrorists is okay but being raped is a crime.

By the way, kudos to Michelle for pointing out that the teacher may have been viewed as teaching the kids democracy. I didn’t see any report saying that that was so, but teaching people that they have a say in what their leaders do might be more “dangerous” to the Sudanese government as giving a teddy bear the wrong name.

Well, in the guy’s defense, if I had an employee – or a friend or family member – still in Sudanese custody and facing time in prison, I’d be saying about the same things.

If he speaks the truth, it ain’t him that’s going to face the consequences.
