Sorry, but either you missed the parts of the story where they’re burning down multiple buildings and deliberately shooting cops, or you’ve passed worldly and blasé and gone into apathetic.

Do you think they should just ignore the rioters shooting cops too? How many cops can they shoot before you get concerned?

120 injured, vs. 17 arrested? So, the takeaway here for French police is if someone busts you in the face with a club, or shoots you; they won’t be punished for doing so.

Well, I can see a potential morale issue here. Doing a dangerous job sucks. Doing a dangerous job with no support, no backup, and leaders willing to sell you up the river… seems like it would suck worse.

I don’t see this one getting better before it gets worse.

As interior minister he called these protesters “scum,” for which he became the most hated person in France among these … scum. Now, as president, I suppose he is trying to show them he is not a “crazy Frenchman,” which is what he hopelessly needs to be to deal with them.

They should deploy the French equivalent of the National Guard. If I’d be a cop in France and told to go in these hot zones I’d tell my supervisor to go F himself. It’s a miracle no cops have died yet.
