Tipster RLW wants to know who this strange conservative impostor is and what on earth he’s done with our Shep. Good question. Anyone know?
I’m tempted to blame the big money, which used to have a way of tilting a man right. Used to.

Wow… Shep stayed on him and didn’t let up. Good for ol’ Shep!

Bill Reilly watch your back!
BobH on November 27, 2007 at 4:46 PM
I wish someone would just interview some of these “youth”. Not gonna happen. I understand they have attacked journalists. Perhaps that’s why Shep is so upshep.
Agrippa2k on November 27, 2007 at 4:48 PM
Yep. He’s quicker on his feet than Billy.
AlexB on November 27, 2007 at 4:48 PM
Did he say “what the alien nation is all about.” or “What the alienation is all about.”?
Aren’t there jobs in france the french don’t want to do? Especially if there is a mandated 30 hour workweek?
peacenprosperity on November 27, 2007 at 4:48 PM
Once again I find myself resenting the fact that my work computer’s network blocks Youtube (and Liveleak, and several other websites).
Frozen Tex on November 27, 2007 at 4:50 PM
For all those ‘gun’s should be confiscated if the government says they should’, please have a look at this video and listen. Those police can’t even protect THEMSELVES. In a situation like this, I would certainly hope that the government would allow me to have a gun to protect myself – because they could not protect me from these thugs.
Just one more time. Rudy was wrong to have confiscated guns in NYC because it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL anywhere in the US of A. I wish he would say that he was wrong UN-NUANCED, then MAYBE I would consider voting for him. The likelihood of him saying he was wrong is about zero though.
He’ll say something like ‘I’ve made mistakes, blah blah blah’ but he won’t say he was wrong in a specific situation like this.
With that out of the way, way to go Shep! Good interview.
ThackerAgency on November 27, 2007 at 4:52 PM
Why won’t somebody go on TV and say what this really is? This is just another branch of the tree of global jihad. They use the 2 dead kids for an excuse, but they’re following a patter set by their false prophet 1,400 years ago. Keep quiet ’til you have the numbers, then start burnin’ stuff.
Tony737 on November 27, 2007 at 4:52 PM
that deserves some applause
Defector01 on November 27, 2007 at 4:54 PM
by the way, Bruce Bower predicted this, and much more, in his excellent book “While Europe Slept”. He explains how lefty socialist multiculti Europe is being destroyed from within by creeping islamism.
Tony737 on November 27, 2007 at 4:55 PM
Hmm, the aliens (legal or illegal) feal alienated.
Quelle Surprise!!
trubble on November 27, 2007 at 4:59 PM
Holy crap…not even a fire in the newsroom was needed!
MadisonConservative on November 27, 2007 at 5:05 PM
Who the heck was that wolf in Shep’s clothing?
Why can’t anyone say “Muslim”? Disenfranchised, my a$$.
“You need to get at the root causes…” No, you do.
Wheretf did a bunch of Islamist ghetto punks in France get all those guns? And why don’t the French cops shoot them?
Jaibones on November 27, 2007 at 5:08 PM
I met a French friend of my cousins this summer, he told me how many people milk the system there- they work 6 months, then take 6 months off, ect.
gmoonster on November 27, 2007 at 5:09 PM
Marc Lamont Hill brought his lefty idiocy to Cavuto at 4 as well. Something about how we’re all (French and US citizens) having to cope with “police states” that we live in, etc. etc. You’ll remember Marc Lamont Hill from when he said (insert idiotic comment here) on (insert Fox News show here), especially when, after badgering by Hannity, he said Petraeus is “betraying us”, and fully supported that ad in the NYT. He held back through the whole interview then let his liberalism loose at the very end and it was very revealing about just what a piece of garbage he is (Geraldo caliber).
Anyway, credit where it’s due Shep, but don’t think all is forgiven by any means.
RightWinged on November 27, 2007 at 5:10 PM
Interesting lead question: What do we MAKE of these riots?
Silly me, I still think journalism shouldn’t be a creative process when it comes to reporting facts.
GPE on November 27, 2007 at 5:10 PM
Shep… Get Frakkin’ RID of the ORANGE TAN!!
Mazztek on November 27, 2007 at 5:10 PM
I’m stunned. Must have been the big recent contract…
Then too, as Rush often points out, it’s so much easier arguing the conservative side, since you can honestly state what everyone can plainly see, and don’t have to constantly tie yourself up in knots trying to squirm away from the truth. The guest “expert” was workin’ hard, Shep was hardly workin’.
bofh on November 27, 2007 at 5:14 PM
Yep. He’s quicker on his feet than Billy.
Blaise on November 27, 2007 at 5:18 PM
Once again…although Shep was certainly wrong about global warming, and some other things IMHO…He’s no “lefty”. And no “Righty”. He floats back and forth, really.
That he grilled this guy, and took the stance that he did, doesn’t suprise me. I think you guys need to watch more of Shep’s segments.
JetBoy on November 27, 2007 at 5:20 PM
During last season’s riots, a camera crew was roughed-up and robbed of their gear – at least I think it was last year – maybe it was during the ‘05 riots – they’re starting to run together on me.
BTW: I loved Shep’s “lifting the veil” comment.
forest on November 27, 2007 at 5:22 PM
I thought Shep handled that idiot fairly well. Still though, WTF does it take to get anyone in the media to ID these thugs as Muslims? Perhaps that would be considered hate speech these days.
infidel4life on November 27, 2007 at 5:25 PM
This guest could have easily derailed Shep. He could have said “mumble…mumble…global warming…mumble…mumble” and Shep would have just snapped.
eeyore on November 27, 2007 at 5:26 PM
MMMmmmm Grilled Leftie. Sounds delicious.

Michelle, where did you get that Shep mask?????
conservnut on November 27, 2007 at 5:52 PM
Anybody got any valid stats on the makeup of the rioters? Is it certain that the majority are Muslim? The key word here is certain. Cavuto, said not, earlier. I’m not sure, it may be that it’s like Smith alluded that they’re just slackers PO’d that they might lose their entitlements.
Oldnuke on November 27, 2007 at 5:56 PM
It’s very telling that the left recognizes WHO is rioting – take note of the following statement made by Spencer Boyer (at marker 1:50):
Disenfranchised youth? Do tell Spencer.
heroyalwhyness on November 27, 2007 at 5:58 PM
Shep’s just a little grumpy today because his alma matar Ole Miss hired Houston Nutt as their football coach…
radjah shelduck on November 27, 2007 at 5:58 PM
Why do liberals ALWAYS defend losers? I just don’t get it?!?!!?
SouthernGent on November 27, 2007 at 6:06 PM
Good for Shep. I’ve always seen the slightest hint of a fair and balanced tv news journalist in that fat head. Where’s Skinner? I want Skinner.

I agree with you. Shep often surprises.
reine.de.tout on November 27, 2007 at 6:21 PM
I’m quite sure that before Shep came on, Fox had a Chiron which identified the rioters as “disenchanted youth”, not “disenfranchised youth”, which is even more pathetic.
And no one is forcing them to name their kids Muhammed instead of Jean Michelle.
Buy Danish on November 27, 2007 at 6:23 PM
That’s a lot of ?!?!!’s, SG! It’s easy. It’s their
mainonly job. Remember, the only reason there are “losers” in this world is that the “winners” have oppressed them into loserdom. Otherwise, everything would be completely equal. It’s an uninformed job, but someone’s gotta do it.

Pretty much everything, which is why there are so many immigrants in France now.

Usually a smattering of lefty anarchists join the Koranimal festivities just to make themselves feel included.
infidel4life on November 27, 2007 at 7:06 PM
Man, it takes a lot of effort to try to work up even a modicum of sympathy or pity for the French.
deepdiver on November 27, 2007 at 7:12 PM
“Disaffected yute” Wow that explains it all.
Hilts on November 27, 2007 at 7:29 PM
Shep certainly didn’t let that guy deflect one bit. Good for him
Yakko77 on November 27, 2007 at 7:40 PM
I do not like what is happening and think the government should come down hard on the Youths.
However, Shep is a fool.
He really needs to conduct some research before opening his yap.
The guest was more informed than Shep.
Lately, Fox has become a laughing stock. It is like watching a comedy most times.
davod on November 27, 2007 at 7:50 PM
Why didn’t the guy just come out and say that the Fwench are racists?
“Alienated??? “Dis-enfranchized”???
Buzz words for DISCRIMINATION and he did use that term as well.
“You get the job if your name is Jean-Pierre but not if it is ummmmm…Mohammed”
RACISTS!!!! (Sorta’ sarcasm….I’m not real fond of the fwench)
Get ready America. What you see happening there WILL be tried here. FACT. The ground work is already being set. “Flying Imams” anyone???
There must be a HUGE warehouse somewhere with a HUGE stock pile of fwench back bones.
Talon on November 27, 2007 at 7:51 PM
You can’t appease them, or teach them our ways if they’d rather isolate themselves in their ghettos. Rather, tell them the rest of the world is working on a civilization, and when the are ready to take part, let us know. Until then, go on back home.
tlynch001 on November 27, 2007 at 8:19 PM
I would say he attempted to grill him. Ultimetely, do we the viewer know anything about the causes of this situation or who the rioters are based on that story? Not at all. Journalism failure, though shep was trying.
Resolute on November 27, 2007 at 8:20 PM
Typical lefty BS. Wants to get to the root of the problem, which means that, somehow, the fact that a bunch of lazy, arrogant, misogynistic, unpatriotic, dirtbags want a free ride, and will play smash-and-grab if they don’t get it is really our fault. Wait, let me get my check-book out…

So, are there plenty of jobs in France for people who basically only know how to set fire to cars?
What kind sof jobs could these guys do? Work at a desk job? Inside sales? Street sweeping? Architect? School teacher?
What exactly are they being deprived of, in terms of a job…
College Dean? HVAC tech? Telecom engineer?

We are finally seeing the invasion of Karl Rove’s pod people!
dawgyear on November 27, 2007 at 10:52 PM
“disenfranchised youths“.
The code name for Islamic Jihadists, Junior Class.
“alienated“.
In other words: they are enraged because Sharia Law has not been established, yet, in their Islamic colony, still infuriatingly known as France.
Good, dogged work by Shep, although the Islamofascists-posing-as-”youth” jugular was only bruised, not torn open, as it needs to be.
Time to enfranchise all of these Mohammedan troublemakers back to Mecca, where they’ll feel much more at home.
And the plutocratic Midases of Saudi Arabia can pay for their seething upkeep.
Zut alors!
profitsbeard on November 27, 2007 at 11:00 PM
WTF? I come up with “wolf in Shep’s clothing” and I get nothing? Nada?
Tough room…
Jaibones on November 27, 2007 at 11:28 PM
You’re right. That was pretty good.
This can be a tough room.
mikeyboss on November 28, 2007 at 12:02 AM
Um, AP, don’t forget that the “Fair and Balanced Network” stopped calling these “Muslim” riots (which they are) and called them “civil” rights (which they are not), pursuant to large NewsCorp. shareholder and pan-Jihadist Prince AlWaleed Bin Talal Al-Saud whining about it to the quickly compliant Murdoch. Dhimmitude. Even Shep Smith read and complied with that policy, then and now, as you’ll notice he does not mention Muslims or Islam, which has everything to do with the riots. Details here.
Debbie Schlussel on November 28, 2007 at 12:21 AM
What crap!
So if you are “disenfranchised”, “alientated” or “don’t have a job” in France you should go shoot a cop?
The left (over there and here) continues to show they will go to any lengths to defend thugs like this.
91Veteran on November 28, 2007 at 12:23 AM
I missed it; that was funny.

saiga on November 28, 2007 at 10:11 AM
I keep noticing the deliberate absence of the word “Muslim” in the reporting of these riots by “dienfranchised youth”. They should call a spade a spade. This problem in France is not gonna go away quietly or soon I’m afraid. Also, these liberals always claim they’re not defending people like this, yet they can’t bring themselves to condemn them either.
CP on November 28, 2007 at 10:34 AM
If the Muslim immigrants in France don’t like their situation, they always have the option of going back to where they came from.
