Look at it from the dog’s point of view. A man is running at your handler with his hand up. It’s a case of mistaken self-defense.

That’s how I see it–people need to keep in mind that the dog doesn’t know it’s at a football game, it just knows that there’s a lot of noise and people around, and some of them are running. One of them inadvertently ran too close with a hand out, and the dog reacted defensively according to its training. The handler should have been paying better attention, and I hope the player wasn’t actually hurt. But sticking your hand in a strange dog’s face is just never a good idea.

Spoken like someone who has stereotyped all policemen and those who defend some of them in individual cases. Just because you can’t tell the difference between a traffic stop in which the motorist was at fault and a football game in which the police officer was at fault (for not keeping her dog in line) doesn’t mean that the rest of us can’t differentiate between the two situations.

Grow up.

Trainer….fired. Commander….fired. Dog…did his job…they are trained with men in padded suits and helmets.

My dog does the same thing. That dog wanted the glove.

I believe that police dogs are taught to grab clothing when attacking, which of course would include gloves.

Like I’ve said before the cops are out of control. What kind of idiot allows an attack dog that close to the field. Attack dogs should not be used for crowd control. The officer and his commander should be fired.
