Ahmadinejad: I will help monitor the U.S. presidential election

He’s biased against Israel, interested in election-monitoring, and surrounded by controversy for his role in the 1979 hostage crisis. He’s the Iranian Jimmy Carter.

And like Jimmeh, he’s also confused.

He denounces it as the “Great Satan” and frequently dismisses its power, but the overtures of the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to the US seem to grow ever more extravagant.

Having failed to win a response with an 18-page letter to President George Bush or to a request to visit the site of the September 11 2001 attack on New York, Ahmadinejad has offered himself as an observer in next year’s presidential election…

However, the terms of Ahmadinejad’s offer appeared to betray some confusion about the potential candidates.

“If the White House officials allow us to be present as an observer in their presidential election we will see whether people in their country are going to vote for them again or not,” he said. The US constitution prevents Bush from seeking a third consecutive term, while no member of his administration is expected to be in the running in next November’s poll.

We’ve seen a variation of this story before, haven’t we? Exit question: Can a man who can’t even run troll patrol on his own blog really be trusted with the world’s most important election?

Would someone just tell that man to shut up!

JellyToast on November 26, 2007 at 10:41 PM

With al the credibility of Jumma Carter, but w/out the hammer and nail purse.

TheSitRep on November 26, 2007 at 10:43 PM

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahhaahah!

Jay on November 26, 2007 at 10:44 PM

Just like Jimmah….the man is addled. He apparently is unaware, just like our Democrats, that Bush isn’t up for election next year.

bikermailman on November 26, 2007 at 10:44 PM

Bush Cheney for 08!

Jay on November 26, 2007 at 10:46 PM

I’m sure Nanny Pelousy will welcome his overture with open arms. To hear many of the Dem candidates, I wonder if, even they, realize Bush isn’t running for office again.

thedecider on November 26, 2007 at 11:00 PM

That’s like sending British Prime Minister
Neville Chamberlain over to watch the Iranian
election,either way,there both clueless.

canopfor on November 26, 2007 at 11:04 PM

Little man at it again.

Entelechy on November 26, 2007 at 11:09 PM

Just put him with Jimmy Carter and send them as observers in American Samoa

Defector01 on November 26, 2007 at 11:09 PM

Well, if they ever revive Vaudeville, Chavez and the Dinner Jacket will make one hell of an act.

reaganaut on November 26, 2007 at 11:09 PM

He just wants to be in the US when his placed gets turned into a glass parking lot. I’d let him in then arrest him for kidnapping.

BobJones-77 on November 26, 2007 at 11:15 PM

So will Mahmoud be in charge of hanging chads or hanging gays or hanging teen age girls who were raped?

MB4 on November 26, 2007 at 11:19 PM

Just another Muslim “leader” showing just how superior he thinks he is to all others, particularly the kufar. Another supremisist leader with the conviction of religion in his own perfection, a product of a totalitarian supremisist ideology, Islam. We may think of him as mad, or even humorous in his folly, but it plays well in the larger Muslim collective as they are of the same ideology. He may seem the fool, but don’t underestimate how this kind of BS inspires those of the same “faith”.

P. James Moriarty on November 26, 2007 at 11:20 PM

So who would DinnerJacket’s preferred candidate in the ‘08 tilt be?

Obama, so he could just sit down and have a nice hot cup of talk?

Or maybe Ron Paul, the I-cant-get-out-of-the-mideast-fast-enough candidate?

I know… its cousin Dennis, the “ask me what you want and I’ll give it to you coz you scare me” candidate.

He reminds me of little people in high school who hand around the fringes of the Popular Crowd and pretend that they’re part of it. It’s pathetic.

With the way he’s been acting over the last few years, what’s the difference between an Iranian Jimmy Carter and the regular Jimmy Carter?

Sean M. on November 27, 2007 at 5:04 AM

If he can monitor from his grave, I’m all for it.

leanright on November 27, 2007 at 5:54 AM

Hrm. Not sure why, but the “Serbian Peacekeepers” in the linked Onion article are actually Canadian soldiers.

Totally unrelated, I know.

c6gunner on November 27, 2007 at 6:45 AM

Is Rudiani running Kerik as VP or for the Department of Homeland Insecurity?

saved on November 27, 2007 at 7:21 AM

Funny how our terrorist enemies fear Bush ‘08 as much as the Dems.

The Dems are running against him for ‘08, and this little rug rat wants to blockade the door of the Oval Office, just in case of election fraud.

Election Fraud, now that’s where the Dems really shine.

Hening on November 27, 2007 at 7:45 AM

Jimmah… Jimmah… Is that you?

petefrt on November 27, 2007 at 8:33 AM

Sure, we’ll let him monitor. That offer works both ways, Yes?

Egfrow on November 27, 2007 at 9:01 AM

That’s it. I’ve exhausted all my suspension of disbelief. This guy HAS to be an American college student and member of MoveOn.org. HAS to be.

MadisonConservative on November 27, 2007 at 9:01 AM

Excuse me, but WTF?????

I mean, I’m sure he’s donated to Hillary already and all, but is he freakin nuts? Sorry, I know that answer, wow.
The thing that scares me is that if a dhimmi democrat gets put in charge of handling that, then yes, he’ll be allowed to do whatever he wants.

“If the White House officials allow us to be present as an observer in their presidential election we will see whether people in their country are going to vote for them again or not,” he said.

To third world dictators, kleptocrats all, the idea of giving up power is completely inconcievable. Elections are just an opportunity to slap some ‘will of the people’ paint over their rotting facade. Not even the threat of a very bad death can convince them to go quietly.

Of course, they have far more authority and none of the responsibility that’s expected of an American president.

That said, Dinner Jacket is just a puppet. The Ayatollah is the one running the country. If libs weren’t all true believers in the cult of personality, they’d realize the midget is just part of the sideshow. We could assassinate him and it wouldn’t change a single thing, for better or worse. Taking out the mullahs and the leadership of the Revolutionary Guard, on the other hand…

At least he’s not running for president of the US. I’m still amused that many democrat presidential hopefulls seem to think they’re running against Bush too! Not to mention the nutroots…

How helpful of Mr Ahmanutjob!!

…especially since Saddam Hussein is no longer available!

We can reciprocate by sending Hillary over to run his healthcare system and Jimmy Carter to run his economy.
