At the scene of his ritual slaughter there are no protesters, just piles of tulips and the banner “ONE AMSTERDAM, ONE PEOPLE” — one mass delusion. It’s not just that you’ll get your throat cut. But that you’ll get it cut and they’ll still string the same sappy happy-face multiculti banner over the crime scene.

Terrific column – ran across it earlier today.
After reading it and a couple of other Mark Steyn columns, just ordered his America Alone. Been putting off reading it, I suppose because it’s clear that the kind of thing described in this column happens all the time under societies that worship multiculturalism, and don’t wanna hear the bad news about dhimmitude by these silly (to be charitable) leaders.
What’s the opinion of those who’ve read the book?

If you’re familiar with Steyn, much of the book will be just more of the same. You will have an overwhelming urge to give it to someone -anyone-not familiar with Mark Steyn and beg him to read it.
Overall he identifies the twin killers of multiculturism combined with the nanny-socialist state.
It’s not just the birthrate that will doom Europe, it’s the womb-to-tomb welfare system.

Saturday night on American Movie Channel,AMC,for short had
a movie on,I was scooting between the internet and tv.
The movie was called “Road to Moscow”,it started showing
clips of Hitler at the huge square,er rally,that scene
blows my mind,millions brainwashed,man,woman,child,obiedent
to one man,cutting to the chase,a lawyer and his family were
finally going on a fishing trip,but the President called,
trip was on hold,and the lawyer a Democrat,(how I know,he
proudly said so),was off to Germany,and Moscow to see when,
not if,the United States were going to war to help EUROPE.
This movie talked about no one listening to a ranting madman
until he was armed to the teeth,like,Iran,Sryia,and Hesbollah.
The picture of Iranian,Syrian military,their hand proudly
in the air,imitating a Nazi-Hitler salute,mirrors each other.
In the forty’s Hollywood got on the bandwagon,knew what
kind of film was needed,and made it.Period.
I read OPFOR’S today,John talks with his uncle on THanksgiving day about the difference of WW2,and WOT.
Who is the enemy,WW2 was defined,it was Nazi’s,
the insurgents no regard for civilians.
It’s 2007,every movie,on the War on Terror that Hollywood
has made,has failed,Hollywood,I don’t want to be “lectured”,
the American people want to be “Inspired”,if you lost your
ability,then watch the “Green Berets” with John Wayne,it’s
still not politically correct because it’s a more of a
message,the bad guy’s are killing,and the good guy’s are
going to stop it.

That Western Europe is about to be conquered by Muslims and that this doesn’t bother Steyn in the slightest except insofar as the implied political consequences reagrding welfare statism might affect primary battles in New Hampshire, Iowa etc.
It’s well written and worth your time but devoid of any serious suggestions for stemming Islamisation of the West.

Inviolet, it’s a good book, enjoy. But when you’re done, get a copy of “While Europe Slept” by Bruce Bower and watch as what Steyn predicts will happen is actually happening already.

Actually the whole book is devoted to a serious suggestion “for stemming Islamisation of the West”: beating them at the demographic game.

‘Tis a good book. He manages to take a very bleak and sobering topic and manages to still make you laugh. He wanders off topic a few time (basic ‘atheists are all liberals and liberals suck’ correlations), but it’s a book well worth reading and one I’ve already started passing around.
Alternatively, just ask Michelle.

It’s a good book. Made me want to start poppin’ out babies. Another good one to read, but not written as entertainingly as Steyn’s, is Londonistan by Michelle Phillips.
