The tip comes from Red Eye’s own Andy Levy, thus proving that even a man with Julie Banderas’s phone number isn’t too cool to slobber over this.

Looks like the rumors were true. Which means I know what the boss is getting for Christmas. Coming soon

May all your Christmas dreams come true.

Frozen Tex on November 21, 2007 at 6:53 PM

I’m so glad I bought my kids a Wii for Christmas. I’m They’re really going to love this.

John on November 21, 2007 at 6:55 PM

The graphics are almost as good as Ms. Pac Man!

stonemeister on November 21, 2007 at 6:59 PM

Well if you, Bryan and Michelle are getting one, I’m gonna get one too!

Zorro on November 21, 2007 at 7:09 PM

It is so on. Whaaaaaa-DOOSH-DOOSH!

SoulGlo on November 21, 2007 at 7:11 PM

We bought a Wii back in late summer. My PS3 fanboy coworkers laughed. I’m laughing at the fact that the PS3 has gone from $700 to $400 while the Wii has gone from $250 to…$250. And Nintendo is the only one making money on sales of the console itself.

MadisonConservative on November 21, 2007 at 7:12 PM

Sorry… but this is old news. Like, a year and a half old or more.

Here’s a video demo of the game in its infancy from almost a year ago demonstrating some of the ‘new’ gaming code technology that gives better special effects in-game. My just turned 14-yo son has been nagging me for the last year and a half to get this for him when it hits the shelves.

SilverStar830 on November 21, 2007 at 7:13 PM

that’s not a licensed product though, is it? “light sword” ?

lorien1973 on November 21, 2007 at 7:16 PM

Uhm, the review for this product says:

For use with Nintendo Wii games console. Simply slip your Wii Remote into the handle and press the on button to instantly power up your light sword, the power up and down effect is done gradually until the light sword is at its full length.

What in the heck does that last phrase mean, exactly? Is this a real Wii controller or some kind of adult toy pretending to be a controller?

Fatal on November 21, 2007 at 7:19 PM

Fatal on November 21, 2007 at 7:19 PM

Well. The operation of each does appear to be similar. And perverted nasty now that you mention it. Power up and down until at full length? That’s a spicy meatball!

lorien1973 on November 21, 2007 at 7:23 PM

Sweet. I feel like such a geek, but the whole Jedi force thing never gets old to me. I know I was like 5 when the first one came out so I was the perfect age for the thing. Like most other guys my age when the 2nd one came out, the revelation that Vader was indeed Luke’s father was more shocking than finding out about Santa Claus. Nobody had a clue until the moment happened. You can’t explain it to people who watch the movies now and we all know ‘Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father’.

There will never be another cinematic moment as dramatic. Nobody understood that it was a series when the first Star Wars came out. We didn’t know much about Vader except he was a very very very bad man.

Star Wars. . . what an epic. . . I know I’m a geek.

ThackerAgency on November 21, 2007 at 7:29 PM

Now everyone can be Star Wars Kid!

Actually, game looks pretty awesome, I’ll probably pick it up.

Bad Candy on November 21, 2007 at 7:41 PM

I’m going to have to buy that – damn nintendo taking my income. How am I supposed to buy Call of Duty 4 if this keeps happening?

Defector01 on November 21, 2007 at 7:48 PM

It could work well for those annoying relatives who come for THANKSGIVING

JetBoy on November 21, 2007 at 7:49 PM

Oh good Lord, now you geeks’ll NEVER leave the house! I love the History Channel, they had a show about how Star Wars is taken from the ancient Greek classics. Wow, that was awesome. (History geek)

O/T: I saw an ad last night for a new tv series called “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” or sumpin’ like that. I was hoping for a post-nuclear war John Connor movie.

Tony737 on November 21, 2007 at 8:14 PM

I built that ship, an Imperial Star Destroyer from a Lego kit for my son last year for Christmas. When I was finished, I never wanted to see another Lego again…

Yeah, that’s it…but it’s pronounced the Ah-nohld way…The Sah-rah Con-nah Chronicles…Actually, it looks pretty good.

JetBoy on November 21, 2007 at 8:18 PM

That’s the problem with MOO games. It’s so “let’s pretend” it’s almost Democrat. (Almost.)

Coronagold on November 21, 2007 at 8:20 PM

Question, Is Wii worth it for some one that is in a wheelchair?

KBird on November 21, 2007 at 8:20 PM

I mean, yes its worth it. (video)

lorien1973 on November 21, 2007 at 8:29 PM

KBird on November 21, 2007 at 8:20 PM

If they have reasonable arm and hand mobility, yeah. A number of retirement centers are using them.

I now have a sudden newfound respect, jealousy and contempt for Andy. Julie is the ka-gizzles of all time. Easily the hippest woman in America.

Griz on November 21, 2007 at 9:03 PM

Here’s a thought: Playing Jedi Outcast using the Wiimote/Nunchuk.

ZK on November 21, 2007 at 9:28 PM

you can already do most all of that in the “StarWars BattleFront II” game… if you come in there, find me “Krisidious” and I’ll put some pwnage on you… no anyway, this game has most all those features and I would imagine that the new game is built off this engine. so if you learn this, you’ll be all the further along in the new one.

I’ll see you on the other side…

Kaptain Amerika on November 21, 2007 at 9:29 PM

What’s that Vader line? Help me out here Geeks… “Don’t be too proud of this monstrosity you’ve created. It is insignificant when compared to the power of the Force.” Something to that effect.

Sorry; Until I can have one that will cut through real steel, titanium, Storm Trooper armor (and of course body parts) etc., I’m not even slightly interested.

LegendHasIt on November 21, 2007 at 10:17 PM

Darth Vader: Don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed; the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

lorien1973 on November 21, 2007 at 10:18 PM

Ah! That’s it! Technological terror! Thanks Lorien. I don’t know why I was drawing a blank on that one, it’s one of the most famous qoutes from that great classic.

Best movie qoute EVER: “Ronald Reagan? The ACTOR? And who’s VICE President, JERRY LEWIS?!”

Tony737 on November 21, 2007 at 10:36 PM

allah and tennis? I’m havin a little trouble with the mental image on that one…
Bryan, U LOST???
We’ve seen Michelle’s tennis swing. Kinda girly.

oh well, at least you knocked her out, and no spittle!

Levy, please tell me you weren’t really slobbering over a Wii game–especially not when you have Jules Bidwell’s number in your Blackberry.

Dude. Seriously.

James on November 22, 2007 at 8:45 AM

I have to wait until Christmas to open my Wii. The important thing is that I actually have one. That bugger is going to be nearly impossible to get this year.

Star Wars Lego: The Complete Saga is on the Christmas Wish List, and I understand my wife is getting it. Then I can be all “zoop, fwish, fwish”. Forget this new thing, stuff done in Lego is super cool.

Krydor on November 22, 2007 at 10:34 AM

I prefer a bamboo stick and some tall dry weeds because I can imagine the rest for free.

Time to commit seppuku on a basted turkey.

Happy Stuffing, and all.

Best of luck finding a Wii.

Get ready to fight tooth and nail for one.

Not to worry – I don’t own a Wii, or any other game console. I just passed along the link cuz I know Allah’s a hardcore geek!

(Full disclosure: I’m writing this from my laptop which I’ve configured as a dual boot XP/Linux system, and I’m using the new Firefox 3 beta. Make of that what you will.)

The Top 25 STAR WARS MIIS

Coming Spring 2008
Call me the Grinch, but that’s not going to make anybody’s Christmas stocking this year!

taznar on November 22, 2007 at 9:16 PM

I’m still waiting for the new Mario Kart.

F15Mech on November 22, 2007 at 11:57 PM

That star wars game most likely will never make it to the Wii. And for now, me and my xbox 360 are enjoying Mass Effect, which is developed by the same people that made the only good Star Wars video game ‘Knights of the Old Republic’

http://youtube.com/results?search_query=Mass+Effect

The Wii has caused the gaming industry to come to a fork in the road. Either support Wii and quicken the downfall of the industry like in the ’80s, or dont support it and let Nintendo continue down the Fisher Price path, mass marketing itself right down to the pre-teen crowd. Which is fine for nintendo, they will make a killing, but developers arent happy at all.
