I can understand not supporting Fred, sure. But for the life of me, I can’t figure out why anyone would hate him – especially to this obsessive, almost maniacal degree.

He hasn’t really, well, done anything. As everyone has noted, he’s kind of a bland guy. And he isn’t getting the nomination, anyway. Not a chance. I can’t even muster much of an emotional response to the guy, one way or the other. Unless I’m watching Die Hard 2, of course.

So what’s with the acute Fred Derangement Syndrome? I almost wonder if it’s personal. Maybe this CSD loon wanted to date Jeri back in high school and Fred! stole her heart away? It’s about the only thing that explains the advanced case of FDS. Er, I mean F!DS.

But when Fred hides behind his wife, and people think she is a reason to support Fred, no one can say she is plain and ugly. All this concern over her, yet she is exhibiting the symptoms of Bells Palsy and no one cares. Except me. I care. She should see a doctor and if she is suffering from it, she needs treatment AND she needs to remove the stress from her life.

It’s all about family first in Fred’s campaign right?

Not sure I agree with that. She just got interviewed on national tv. She could say whatever she wants and it gets widely publicized.

As for ad hominem attacks, they don’t work well because ultimately they try to obscure and ignore the issues, but are a fact of life for public figures. Most here are about Hillary, Rosie, Bill etc.(Is Bill off-limits now that he’s only 1st spouse?) I’ve made a few. I’m perfectly willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Jeri Thompson. CSDevin’s attacks didn’t make much difference to me one way or the other.

But who cares? Is she running for the office of first lady or is Fred running for the office of president? Fred should have been there explaining his disastrous plummet and not send his wife out to take the slings and arrows for him. Is he trying to prop his campaign up by putting her front and center? I didn’t call you a homo, because you didn’t exhibit any qualities that would make me think you were gay. I called you deranged because you attacked a woman’s looks because of her husband’s politics and choices in the 1990s. Only a deranged person would attack a family member’s personal traits over such a thing, much like anyone at the Democratic Underground would.

If MM presented her hotness as a reason to support her, then she opens herself up to legitimate debate on the subject.

Jeri Thompson didn’t either.
