Video: Jackie Mason rails against the “persecution” of Christians
posted at 11:30 am on November 20, 2007 by Allahpundit
The persecutor isn’t identified in the clip but the sidebar description at YouTube solves the puzzle:
Judeo-Christian values are being destroyed by intolerance of minority religion and atheism. Atheism is becoming are state religion. And they will stop at nothing to stop the practice of Christianity in this country.
Here you go — my little contribution to the grand potluck dinner that is the blogosphere this Thanksgiving season. Don’t say I never did anything for you.

I love his enthusiasm but man he gets more and more incoherent with each video.

“Born again,” evangelical Christians are not a majority. Yes, most Americans are Christians. But traditional Christian values is by no means a view of the majority.

Love that Jackie, He is so right.
I detect he has a slight accent, is it Georgia or Alabama?
Can’t put my finger on it.
TheSitRep on November 20, 2007 at 11:40 AM
Well said, Jackie! As the first commenter noted, Jackie could be a bit more organized, but I heartily agree with his sentiments.

From someone in the youtube comments “Jackie… submit a question to the CNN YouTube Republican debate…”
Me like this idea.

The opposite of nothing is something so…”you never did something for us”
Have a happy thanksgiving AP, I am thankful for HA, and the chance to freely voice our opinions…I’ll say a little prayer for you also, it will make you feel warm all over.

Nice jackie-ism AP.

Too bad he sounds like a senile raving loon. He makes good points.
AlexB on November 20, 2007 at 11:55 AM
Jackie got a little incoherent there for a bit, but did I just hear him say that the US Constitution needed to ensure the protection of Christians?
HeIsSailing on November 20, 2007 at 12:01 PM
He makes some great points, but is his head really attached to that body? I think his head is there, and they put someone else’s body under it. His head never moves.
But still, I like his points…just weird to watch.

Jackie Mason said:
I’m sorry, but what in the world is he talking about?
HeIsSailing on November 20, 2007 at 12:06 PM
Way to go, Jackie. Though I can’t watch these without expecting a punch line somewhere. Glad to hear he’s concerned with children getting “boit control” without having to tell their parents.

He never says who it is who is offended by Miracle on 34th Street, but when I was younger it was my church who equated Santa Clause with Satan, not anybody attacking religion.

Imagining a threat to their freedom – best quote
It’s the finger wagging that tickles me.

Thank you AP. The comment about porn is acceptable as long as there is no nativity scene next to it is so outrageous! Wonderful Masonisms.

Now I understand, the Mormons worship Masonic symbols. I always thought they meant the Mason’s as a secretive society group. The are talking about Jackie Mason. They study his jokes and dialog’s.
Mitt and Jackie…go!

Georgia. Tiblisi.
JiangxiDad on November 20, 2007 at 12:19 PM
Was perfectly clear to me. He’s talking out the tyranny of the minority.
JiangxiDad on November 20, 2007 at 12:20 PM
This is the part I was referring to:
“That we need protection in the constitution for the Christianity itself.”
Sorry, but constitutional protection for Christianity?
HeIsSailing on November 20, 2007 at 12:25 PM
I didn’t realize that Jackie Mason is actually a Muslim!
Thanks YellowPages.travel!
saint kansas on November 20, 2007 at 12:42 PM
Thanks Allah, I enjoyed that. And of course Jackie hits precisely on target once again. In a nutshell I think he was saying, we’re in a time when evil is called good and good is called evil.

I am an Atheist but I am very annoyed at the Atheist groups who go around demanding crosses and ten commandments etc. be removed. Who cares. Really. But 95% of Americans are believers so I don’t see the big threat from Atheists. Were not out to get you. We don’t meet once a week and plan our strategy to oppress Christians. We don’t meet at all. This sounds like paranoia. The country is changing and Christianity is no longer such a monolith. Perhaps your sense of entitlement needs to be moderated somewhat. Seems like Christians are not used to having to defend their majority status. As long as there are churches on every corner in every city in every state in the country, you can’t claim to be persecuted. Jeeze.

SR, you know, don’t you, that you’re going to hell :)>
james hooker on November 20, 2007 at 12:51 PM
Not all of you, no. But there are any number of avowed organized atheist groups that do.
What Christians are most defensive of is the modern philosophy of so many people in our world today to reject what one doesn’t want to be true, and put in its place what one wants to be true.
Breaking a promise is no big deal. Cheating on one’s spouse or on one’s taxes is no big deal. Worshipping false gods is fine, as long as one believes what they believe with their whole heart. Taking God’s name in vain is freedom of speech. Killing the unborn is a personal choice.
Yet, for some reason God still allows us to have our own reality.
Lawrence on November 20, 2007 at 1:05 PM
He meant that the country was founded as a christian nation, and the prohibition against establishing a state religion was directed at Christianity. Nowadays, it’s not state Christianity that is to be feared, so he says, but persecution of christianity–ergo, his quip about a const. amendment to protect Christians.
(Could I get a job as a UN translator?)
JiangxiDad on November 20, 2007 at 1:07 PM
I’m sorry, but if you don’t know, then you have not been paying attention. Check the news (even the MSM!!) any day of the week to see several of the latest examples of the minority demanding control over the majority under the banners of “political correctness”, “multiculturism”, or “environment”.
As to Jackie’s accent: He’s spent his entire career perfecting his spoof of the immigrant Jewish mother’s accent and manner of speaking. It’s central to his act, and indistinguishable from the “real” Jackie Mason now.

I think this is what he is talking about…
And I don’t consider myself a Christian either… but this is just plain wrong.
Romeo13 on November 20, 2007 at 1:11 PM
Oi vey! Enough already, Jackie!
RobCon on November 20, 2007 at 1:15 PM
I have no problem with anything the guy said except for that bit about constitutional protection for Christianity. I don’t know if that was real, or part of his act, but if that is not constitutional endorsement of a religion than I don’t know what is.
HeIsSailing on November 20, 2007 at 1:17 PM
It becomes more and more clear that the majority of us are being ruled by the few. The US wasn’t meant to be an oligarchy but yet, here we are.
Buzzy on November 20, 2007 at 1:21 PM
All things christians do every day. And they also meet once a week and discuss how to combat evil which no doubt includes atheists. Maybe we should be paranoid.
ronsfi on November 20, 2007 at 1:22 PM
Actually, I think Jackie grew up in Brooklyn and spoke Yiddish for the first 10 years or so of his life.
You’re hearing the last of the old Yiddish accents so prevalent in the first three-quarters of the 20th century. He’s not spoofing the immigrants, he’s just speaking how he’s always spoken. I used to watch him on Ed Sullivan…before he, um, wasn’t invited back.
Grantman on November 20, 2007 at 1:58 PM
I think I’m getting old…I’m beginning to sound exactly like Jackie, even the accent. Although I’m a Jew, it seems all people become more jewish as they age.
Of course Jackie’s right. The values in this country have become twisted out of recognition.
stonemeister on November 20, 2007 at 4:51 PM
The Jews have what they call a “righteous Gentile”. I hereby declare Jackie as a “righteous Jew”.
And if you can’t figure out what he was saying, you should spend less time reading “The Audacity of Hope” and “Living History”. Sorry dudes and dudettes, but you’re losing the plot here; it isn’t losing you.
