Video: Hasselbeck’s betrayal

I knew they’d get to her eventually. Day after day they worked her over, tenderizing her with mallet blows about peace and guilt and why giant tax hikes are really the only moral option when you think about it. One day, I’ll bet, it occurred to her: “You know, Rosie’s right. Building 7 did look like a controlled demolition.” From there it was only a short decline to this.

Just think: the next time Joy calls her a bitch, it’ll be in that special “friendly” way she’s reserved for people she likes. Like Michelle.

Just in time for ???

William Amos on November 19, 2007 at 2:22 PM

On the other hand, Ms. Elizabeth probably could get many men to change their vote, sign any petition, sing a song in the street, …

doufree on November 19, 2007 at 2:30 PM

Let’s hold out the possibility/hope it’s just a joke in an email. If not, it’s simply further evidence the 19th Amendment was a gigantic mistake.

Drew on November 19, 2007 at 2:30 PM

I’m gonna puke…

Skywise on November 19, 2007 at 2:30 PM

Quite a admission from wawa declaring her political feelings. She is such a jerk.

Wade on November 19, 2007 at 2:31 PM

I couldn’t care less what she thinks. I never considered her either a paragon of conservatism, or intelligence. What claim to scholarship does she have? Some imbecilic show involving eating slugs and bugs? I’d call that indictment enough.

OhEssYouCowboys on November 19, 2007 at 2:35 PM

Does this mean we shouldn’t try to get her for Vent?

Allahpundit on November 19, 2007 at 2:36 PM

I hope that was sarcasm by the “Wesident Wepubwican”.

thirteen28 on November 19, 2007 at 2:36 PM

Elizabeth has always been too sweet for politics. She said “Maybe I will” meaning she was politely thanking Hillary for sending the letter. But Im sure it was nothing more than that

William Amos on November 19, 2007 at 2:39 PM

Quite a admission from wawa declaring her political feelings. She is such a jerk.

Wade on November 19, 2007 at 2:31 PM

Yup.

P.S. I’m thinking she(Hasslebeck) said it tounge in cheek. Kinda like what doufree did.

MirCat on November 19, 2007 at 2:39 PM

WE CAN DEPROGRAM HER.

Allahpundit on November 19, 2007 at 2:39 PM

I can’t say Hasselbeck ever impressed me with her “conservative” credentials. RINO? possibly, because how else could she so quickly change( if that’s what she did)

MNDavenotPC on November 19, 2007 at 2:40 PM

So my answer of what idiots watch this show has been answered. Hilary Clinton.

Hening on November 19, 2007 at 2:43 PM

Somebody ought to tell Hillary she sent the card.

JiangxiDad on November 19, 2007 at 2:43 PM

Does this mean we shouldn’t try to get her for Vent?

Maybe the staff of Hot Air should send an official letter to Taylor Thomas welcoming him to the world and Elisabeth will rescind her vote.

Michelle on November 19, 2007 at 2:43 PM

I hope she’s joking.

AlexB on November 19, 2007 at 2:45 PM

WE CAN DEPROGRAM HER.

Allahpundit on November 19, 2007 at 2:39 PM

I hereby offer my services to be sent to a deserted island with her for total immersion reprogramming. Give me a month, I will bring her back to the light.

conservnut on November 19, 2007 at 2:48 PM

In the famous words of the Man Show: End Women’s Suffrage Now!

Editor on November 19, 2007 at 2:49 PM

This was going along pretty smoothly until Hillary’s
name popped up,I smell a “Planted E-Mail”.

Nah. Can’t be a joke email. It would’ve already been forwarded to me by my mother.

It would’ve already been forwarded to me by my mother.

lol

JiangxiDad on November 19, 2007 at 2:52 PM

Elizabeth Hasselback’s claim to fame is appearing as a cast member on Survivor Africa. I think that was Survivor 3. All those Survivor casts seems to be the same. They combine hot looking blondes who wear bikinis as they shrivel to skin and bones and then we also get the bartenders who have wall to wall tatoos and then we get the nerdy guy and the buff guy. But I am not sure how playing silly games with Jeff Propst and eating bugs and then vomiting up the bugs makes one viable as a political analyst. But at least she is more qualified then the selfabsorbed, selfrigtheous, and selfaggrandizing Christine Amanpour that CNN forcefeeds its dwindling audience.

Larraby on November 19, 2007 at 2:54 PM

Hass knew her comment would be good for a laugh.

T J Green on November 19, 2007 at 2:54 PM

Was the email from her or was it a plant?

Kini on November 19, 2007 at 2:55 PM

Isn’t this what Babs hoped for? Look at all thought assume that Eliz was beingserious. Couldn’t this have actually been a hahahaha because of this, I might vote for Hillary? Maybe just to get a rise out of the gals?

Pam on November 19, 2007 at 2:55 PM

Money line:

That’s all it took

Christ…

Nah. Can’t be a joke email. It would’ve already been forwarded to me by my mother.

MikeZero on November 19, 2007 at 2:50 PM

That’s why you have to give your mom a Yahoo address you only check every couple of weeks.

Drew on November 19, 2007 at 2:57 PM

MikeZero on November 19, 2007 at 2:50 PM

Only your mom? Heck, I would have got it from about half a dozen different people.

Bob's Kid on November 19, 2007 at 2:58 PM

Show us again where they administered the epidural? We may have a lawsuit here.

saint kansas on November 19, 2007 at 2:59 PM

It sounds like sarcasm from Hasselbeck, as in “Yeah, that’s all it takes, a warm sisterly Hallmark greeting from The Only Female Presidential Candidate.” After all, what other Presidential candidate will care…well, besides Silky Pony (he’ll probably send flowers to one-up Hillary)?

Redhead Infidel on November 19, 2007 at 3:07 PM

Postpartum depression maybe?

Buzzy on November 19, 2007 at 3:08 PM

Show us again where they administered the epidural? We may have a lawsuit here.

saint kansas on November 19, 2007 at 2:59 PM

Outstanding. I think it was at C-3.

OhEssYouCowboys on November 19, 2007 at 3:08 PM

Hillary did not send a plant?

Wade on November 19, 2007 at 3:12 PM

saint kansas on November 19, 2007 at 2:59 PM

P.S. If you’re a KU fan, I’m pullin’ for y’all. I hope that KU can go all the way. If you’re a KSU fan, or not a KU fan at all, disregard this P.S.

OhEssYouCowboys on November 19, 2007 at 3:19 PM

It was a joke all the way. At least I must keep thinking that, otherwise 100 fantasies die a painful death.

Even after giving birth, Elizabeth looks better than any lib chick ever did (with the exception of my wife). ;-)

Drew on November 19, 2007 at 2:30 PM

I have no doubt it’s a joke.

ballz2wallz on November 19, 2007 at 3:23 PM

Why would the View’s Wacko’s applaude votes for a candidate that cant promise a troop withdrawal by 2013?

malkinmania on November 19, 2007 at 3:23 PM

Does this mean we shouldn’t try to get her for Vent?

Allahpundit on November 19, 2007 at 2:36 PM

No.

Lawrence on November 19, 2007 at 3:24 PM

Sounds tongue in cheek to me. If she was being serious, though, boy, I’d say the 19th amendment was a mistake…

I was talking to a liberal the other day and he said, “I bet I can change you into a liberal.” My reply was to laugh in his face and say, “Better people than you have tried.” If I can survive through Los Angeles Unified AND UCLA without going left, a nice, friendly letter from The One and Only Female Presidential Candidate ain’t going to change my mind either.

wherestherum on November 19, 2007 at 3:28 PM

If I can survive through Los Angeles Unified AND UCLA without going left,

How’d you do that. Concerned Dad of two daughters wants to know.

JiangxiDad on November 19, 2007 at 3:30 PM

I’m sure her hormones are just out of wack. Better that she vote for Hillary than drown her baby in the bath tub.

tommylotto on November 19, 2007 at 3:32 PM

It shows how diluted that two comedians can be when they don’t know a joke when they hear one.

RobCon on November 19, 2007 at 3:42 PM

Proof positive that the personal touch goes a long way.

Spirit of 1776 on November 19, 2007 at 3:42 PM

Does this mean we shouldn’t try to get her for Vent?

Allahpundit on November 19, 2007 at 2:36 PM

As you said, “Love fades. Go with the hotness.”

- The Cat

P.S. That means you should.

MirCat on November 19, 2007 at 3:43 PM

Obviously Elizabeth is doing fine and we are all making jokes at her expense. I’m sure if you wanted to be polite to your liberal boss, you’d all say the same thing as she did just to be nice. After all, Mama told me if I didn’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. And I think she’d be wonderful for the next Vent.

Carry on, Elizabeth. Carry on, Allahpundit.

You know what the second funniest thing in the world would be? Larry the Cable Guy going on “The View” and asking Barbara Walters to pull his finger. You know what the FUNNIEST thing in the world would be? Barbara’s expression upon his making the request….

radjah shelduck on November 19, 2007 at 3:55 PM

Did Barbara mean resident or token Republican?

If Elizabeth weren’t involved with something much more important than the women sitting around that table, I’m sure she would be casting her vote in opposition to the loony left on national TV.

Speakup on November 19, 2007 at 4:05 PM

JiangxiDad on November 19, 2007 at 3:30 PM

Very practical conservative parents who listened solely to talk radio while I was growing up. I was raised on Larry Elder and Bill Handel. I still listen to Handel and to John & Ken. I also went to a VERY liberal high school magnet, probably more liberal than Berkeley (our “sister” school), so UCLA was almost right leaning comparatively. Sad, ain’t it?

wherestherum on November 19, 2007 at 4:11 PM

“Elisabeth is not a very smart person, she’s one of the dumber people in television”.

- – The Donald (even though I disagree with him on Iraq, and agree with the ’smart’ demsel of years past

The pictures are telling, as usual.

Feather-light – but, the HA crew, including the readership was so smitten with her…

There are so many real women of substance on the right, foremost among them MM. ABC would never consider them.

What a joke – the ratio:

3-4 total flaming lefties, including Barbara’s ruined reputatin of yesteryear
1 feather-light so-called rightie

Balance, indeed.

Entelechy on November 19, 2007 at 4:20 PM

You could tell at the moment the video ended that Behar was about to make some snarky comment. She had that “poised-for-snarkiness” look.

eeyore on November 19, 2007 at 4:25 PM

May her husband get turf toe.

Mike Honcho on November 19, 2007 at 4:59 PM

Balance, indeed.
Entelechy on November 19, 2007 at 4:20 PM

“You want balance?! You can’t handle balance!”
They wouldn’t want a conservative with any Malkins. You saw how they were trying to shut down Laura Ingraham at every turn, and she would have none of it. Elizabeth is about all the conservative they could handle on a regular basis.

eeyore on November 19, 2007 at 5:41 PM

“Get to her”? Allah, she was never a conservative. She openly supports affirmative action, Title IX, Al Sharpton, called for Don Imus’ ouster over speech she disagreed with, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam–actually, ad vomitum. She’s a statist airhead who is not as far left as they are. BFD. Almost as good as her credentials: Fourth Place on survivor, former shoe designer, married to the horrid QB brother who is even worse than his horrid QB brother.

Debbie Schlussel on November 19, 2007 at 5:46 PM

Oh, please….she was just being nice.

Non-story.

The Ugly American on November 19, 2007 at 7:06 PM

I feel relatively certain that her tongue was planted firmly in cheek when she said that.

The Ugly American on November 19, 2007 at 7:09 PM

If you think Elizabeth is dumb maybe she’s dumb like a fox (she really is a fox). While away from the show having a baby how do you make sure nobody forgets about you and your email gets read on the air?

imshocked on November 19, 2007 at 7:56 PM

The ‘View’ has absolutely no vision-it is the blind leading the blind.
