He insists, contra Clinton’s spokesman, that his information does indeed come (second-hand) from her supporters, not from the GOP. Assuming it’s true and Hillary has something on him, Obama’s insurance policy here is Silky. The three of them are bunched sufficiently closely in Iowa that any dirty bomb she sets off against Obama is likely to irradiate her too, letting Edwards skip down the primrose path to victory. Look on the bright side, though: if Obama pulls an upset, this news will most definitely be breaking before New Hampshire. Which leads one to wonder what dirt on her he might be keeping safely tucked away for just such an occasion.
Exit question: Assuming he does have something on her, will he use it if she wins Iowa and New Hampshire? It would tend to muddy his sunny “audacity of hugs” message or whatever.

I just seem to remember that the MSM called wins for Kerry and Gore right up to election day, those exit polls were truth personified, right?
Hilary will try like hell to steal this election but she will fail. I have great fatih in the sanity of the American people as a whole.

Whether the first story was true, Novak’s story seems to be following a trajectory similar to this. Insight Magazine didn’t have any proof behind the allegations purportedly made by the Clinton camp; but then again, the story was equally about about the source and the scandalousness of his or her assertions as it was about Obama. Perhaps the Novak’s ambiguity here will force the “scandal” out. Perhaps.

That’s what is so confusing about this. There is so much dirt on the Clintons out there, that it wouldn’t take much for Obama to filter it to the masses. Whatever dirt she has on Obama must be pretty serious for her to risk playing this game.

He’ll have to. If she promises him the VP slot to shut-up, she’ll torpedo him in 2016 for fun and he’ll never be pres. Does he know that? On the other hand, Bill will prob. be dead by then, and Hil will be free to enter a new civil union.

Maybe the “neutral” Democrat who was on the receiving end of this story and then reported it to Novak was the object of a hot air balloon test.
Hillay’s forces contact respected Dems with gossipy rumors and see how it goes over. If the Dems are appalled they hold back. If the Dems rub their hands in glee they proceed.

No doubt Obama is dirty and part of it is Rezko. Whether or not it’s the only thing they have on him, time will tell.
Rezko is tight with the current Gov, Blagojevich, but not with Mayor Richie Daley. Daley is tight with the Clintons. Brother Bill was Clinton’s Sec. of Commerce before he became Gore’s campaign manger.
Those in the know predict that Rezko will take down Blago and the fallout might wash over to Obama. Rezko sold a very expensive piece of land to Obama for peanuts, far below fair market value. And Rezko is under investigation for “pay for play” with Blago.

I don’t know what Obama could have done that’s worse than what Bill and Hillary have already done. Any scandal can easily be compared to Bill and Hill’s rich past and the voters would just get bored and more cynical.
