Remember dorian, I live on the Gulf Coast myself, and have been through some pretty good blows myself. In fact, we got slammed by Rita about one month after Katrina, which was a bigger storm I might add. My problem with Sheps coverage had to do with the crying about “where is FEMA”, “people are dying here” without ever once slamming the POS mayor and governer of that state. He fed the feeding frenzy that shifted blame from where it belonged and onto the Bush administration.

Too often, Shep follows the easy media line along with CNN, MSNBC and the networks. I think it is because he is trying to make himself look appealing to them for future anchor desk openings at the networks.

And therefore he loses my trust.

Who can we believe – Shep or the ‘tabs?

He asked Carl what “Punch Polling” was. Sheesh.

I like Shep, or I used to. His comments on global warming and some remarks lately about the war have caused me to have considerable pause. He also lost a bit of ground with me during the Katrina meltdown.

He needs to remmeber who brung him to the dance.

Hmmm, having been in a cat 5 hurricane myself, I did not find anything disturbing about Shep’s Katrina meltdown. If you have never actually been in a hurricane you just plain have no idea how terrifying they can be. I was only 8 when Camille struck Florida but I most assuredly do remember watching a whole lot of adults act exactly the same way Shep was acting during Katrina.

We were sitting on a man made atoll about a half a mile off Key West, called Sigsbee Island, which has since been renamed to Dredgers Key. My dad and the other sailors there were having a hurricane party and getting really hammered because they knew if Camille hit us full on we were all going to die.

I of course had no idea of the danger we were in so I was having a grand old time. Sneaking drinks and smoking cigarettes and doing stuff my folks would have killed me for if they had been paying closer attention. But they were having a pretty tough time keeping some of the hysterical people from flipping out more than they already were.

So no, Shep gets a pass on that one from me.

Attitude adjustment and a history lesson. And a reminder of who he works for. I think when he gets rid of the orange tan, he’ll ne OK. Look at Olberdouche. Orange tan all the way, and he’s wacked out of his skull.

Shep is just eye candy for the “light news.” My girlfriend likes him, along with the accompanying cute pics of animals on his show.

Anyways, he seems like a nice guy. Congrats, Shep.

On a personal level I like Shep, he’s not a stuffed shirt, he doesn’t seem to take himself so seriously and for the most part he doesn’t condescend to the audience. He makes me laugh sometimes, even when he’s not suppose to. I’m actually happy for him, all the best Shep, congratulations sincerely!!

But Bill Carter gets it exactly wrong when he claims Sheppard Smith was speaking “in support of the science” when Smith told his audience to “read up” if they doubted man-made global warming. There simply is no science that supports the claim of man-made global warming, even the IPCC admits that once you back them into a corner. They don’t like to admit it because they have everything to gain by causing climate change treaties to be enacted. The IPCC pushing man-made global warming is the perfect example of a conflict of interest. Are so called “global warming deniers” the only ones that can see that? Has there ever been a more transparent fraud than man-made global warming?
