MNF open thread: Tennessee at Denver

posted at 8:00 pm on November 19, 2007 by Bryan

Tonight it’s the Titans at Denver. If Vince Young gets into a groove this one might be fun to watch. Both teams need the win. For Denver, falling to 4-6 could spell doom. The 6-3 Titans need to keep pace with the Jags and the Colts.

Whatever happens in this one tonight, the horror ending in Baltimore is worth a second look while you wait for kickoff. It’s the kind of heart-ripping ending that just couldn’t happen to a nicer team. Yeah, I know Allah posted it earlier. I just really don’t like the Ravens.

The Ravens are ok. It’s just their coach I really can’t stand. As egotistical as T.O. and Randy Moss are, at least theirs are justified.

Texas sucks :thumbsdown

I dislike Baltimore almost as much as I disliked the Raiders in the past.

But they have a killer linebacker.

I despise the Ravens.

Hates the Ravens too.

I used to like Denver, but I don’t appreciate they way they treated Jake Plummer. Jake had mad skills and wasn’t appreciated. I understand they wanted to get the young guy in there to start him down the road. Still, the way they ran Jake out of town showed a lack of class by the organization, and even the Denver fans, IMHO. Jake’s not Elway, but neither is Cutler. Maybe he’ll get there, but I’m rooting against it for now.

Hopefully Young’s leg holds out. He’s fun to watch!

Jake had mad skills and wasn’t appreciated.

WHAT!

He had “mad” skills for one year in Denver then became shaky Jake. He basically retired mid pre-season.

Well, what I liked about Jake was that he brought stability to the team after Brian Griese messed things up so badly. He wasn’t the best, but he allowed the QB position to be “known known” (Rumsfeld), which in turn allowed the rest of the offense to do its job. I am really excited about Cutler, though, and I can’t wait to see what he will do in the years to come.

Did you know that Young kicks puppies?

Weight of Glory on November 19, 2007 at 9:21 PM

If only Kornheiser would shut up. He is a real downer for that show.

drjohn on November 19, 2007 at 9:36 PM

Gawd!

As mentioned many times earlier, I’m a Broncos fan. It’s nice to see the team do well, it’s nice to see the home stadium, but geez…

this broadcast team? Please. Someone cut the power.

I’ve never disliked them as much as I have tonight. When Michelle Tafoya started in about Vince Young and his relationship with his father while the game was in fact being played, it became a parody of bad sports coverage.

ESPN stil thinks fans want these “hard-hitting” stories! No, we want to watch the game!

Gatordoug on November 19, 2007 at 10:50 PM

My money is on Denver but my heart is with the Titans. I want Peyton to feel their hot breath on his neck!

TheBigOldDog on November 19, 2007 at 10:53 PM

Go Horns!

Can we start the open thread for Friday’s game now, Bryan?

What exactly was unknown about Griese? Immobile, no arm. That was pretty well known. Plummer, mobile stronger arm. Immobile and no arm is hardly a cause for “messing things up so badly.”
