With this, the score stands at Hillary 3, GOP 1. No surprise that it’s Huckabee who put us on the board, either. I wonder how his first punchline here about the border is going to play, though, especially since immigration isn’t Huck’s strong suit and the rest of the field is taking the issue deadly seriously in Iowa.
Huck’s last line also sounds … familiar. Although, admittedly, that joke writes itself.

Chuck Norris does not endorse candidates, He appoints them.
TheSitRep on November 18, 2007 at 12:28 PM
Feh.
I’m just waiting for Steven Seagal endorsement of Rudy.
Always Right on November 18, 2007 at 12:33 PM
I liked it…
Pam on November 18, 2007 at 12:36 PM
Hilarious!
acleaver on November 18, 2007 at 12:36 PM
Good one Allah.
With Chuck on board, I guess I take a serious look Gov. Huck.
Zorro on November 18, 2007 at 12:37 PM
is the point of this video that everything that norris said about huck isn’t true?
lorien1973 on November 18, 2007 at 12:38 PM
I think that’s GREAT! Clever and entertaining too.
petefrt on November 18, 2007 at 12:39 PM
Funny…
elgeneralisimo on November 18, 2007 at 12:44 PM
I like Chuck Norris but there is no way that Mike Huckabee will be President. (Haven’t we had enough of Arkansas governors?0
Hilts on November 18, 2007 at 12:52 PM
By the way I like Chuck’s toupee.
Hilts on November 18, 2007 at 12:52 PM
Chuck doesn’t have a toupee. He trained badger to live on his head.
ronsfi on November 18, 2007 at 12:55 PM
This is the key right here about why this “endorsement” means nothing (to me):
Governor Huckabee is also a big government, big spending, high taxes to pay for spending Republican.
If immigration is Chuck Norris’ primary concern, I don’t understand why he would endorse someone who was weak on illegal immigration.
This is why endorsements by the entertainment industry (should) mean squat. Unfortunately, we have a lot of superficial, ignorant people in this country who will vote for Mike Huckabee *solely*, because they see that he was endorsed by Chuck Norris.
Such is the state of politics in America today. 50% of eligible voters don’t bother to vote and probably 75% of those who do, don’t even know the details of the issues on which they are voting.
Michael in MI on November 18, 2007 at 12:56 PM
Like it, though I am still a bit confused as to what Huckabee’s stand on illegal immigration is….I thought in the past it was quite soft.
But I like him as a candidate, and though it’s a bit superficial to say, he doesn’t have bags under his eyes like another candidate I also like, but may not make it after all…
Webutante on November 18, 2007 at 12:56 PM
It is in my humble opinion that Chuck Norris supports Huckabee is because he’s a minister. It’s for religious reasons.
And now I await for my kidneys to spontaneously explode.
Weebork on November 18, 2007 at 1:02 PM
It’s not a rug, see, Chuck was the very first to explore the merits of using shoe polish on his hair so as to maintain that manly mane!!
commonsensehoosier on November 18, 2007 at 1:04 PM
Excluding his fight with Bruce Lee, I’ve always liked Norris.
I’m just not sold on Huck, his immigration stance maka me nervous, plus Medved REALLY likes him. MMedved was like the only conservative to endorse Shamnesty, dare to bring up shamnesty on disagreement day and you can clearly hear Mved get p*ssed. Mved will only allow the nutty immigration callers through, making the arguement easy to dismiss.
Also during that FOX GOP debate the Huckster missed some easy bodyblows he could have landed on wRONg PAUL.
christophercube on November 18, 2007 at 2:14 PM
Or Larry the Cable Guy to endorse Fred?
Buzzy on November 18, 2007 at 2:24 PM
I just lost respect for Chuck.
csdeven on November 18, 2007 at 2:38 PM
What would Mr. Miyagi do?
thejackal on November 18, 2007 at 2:44 PM
Or the wicked witch of the east to endorse the Hildebeast.
csdeven on November 18, 2007 at 3:01 PM
Or Quakers of the moon to endorse Mitt.
csdeven on November 18, 2007 at 3:02 PM
Ditto.

Jack Bauer just pooed his pants.
infidel4life on November 18, 2007 at 3:47 PM
FINALLY someone on our side gets it.
ScottMcC on November 18, 2007 at 4:18 PM
Pretty good… for a politician.
Huck’s delivery was lacking, but Chuck Norris was perfect.
frankj on November 18, 2007 at 4:47 PM
So is this an internet only ad or actually going on TV? Humor is great, but you don’t want a candidate still trying to get name recognition coming off as too silly.
frankj on November 18, 2007 at 4:52 PM
Great ad. Out of consideration for Huck/Norris fans, I won’t say anything more.
Splashman on November 18, 2007 at 6:52 PM
Dude! All us Fred heads need to just pack up and go home. I like the Huckster on everything but immigration. I don’t want another 8 years of open borders.
Mojave Mark on November 18, 2007 at 6:52 PM
That was funny and cute, though…
Jeff Foxworthy:
If an episode of Walker, Texas Ranger changed your life,
you just might be a redneck.
If this ad changes your vote,
you just might have a “glorious absence of sophistication.”*
* Foxworthy definition of redneck:
someone with a glorious absence of sophistication.
silverfox on November 18, 2007 at 7:24 PM
Sir, or Ma’am, that right there was just darn funny. I’m still laughing as I type this.
BowHuntingTexas on November 18, 2007 at 7:41 PM
Was I the only one to dive on the floor when chuck punched the screen? That is got to be a fake. If it were real, there would be no way I could have gotten out of the way fast enough. If it were the real Chuck, everyone who watched that video would be dead… nice try Huck! I’d still vote for you though… but watch your back for the real chuck norris.
BadBrad on November 18, 2007 at 9:11 PM
I cant believe a serious contender for the POTUS would try to joke his way to the top.
These are serious times in our nation and huckabee reminds me a of a kid trying to make the bully laugh so he doesnt get his butt kicked.
Fight the bully Huck. You’ll get more respect…..that is if you deserve it in the first place..
GEEEZZZZ……
Nelsa on November 18, 2007 at 9:20 PM
Great ad. Clearly the best candidate. I only wish the guy would have had the sense to change his name. Chance of a guy from Arkansas named ‘Huckabee’ winning an election for ‘Leader of the Free World?’ 0%
Griz on November 18, 2007 at 10:22 PM
Yeah, I was scratching my head more and more as the spot went on.
OK I get the first joke, but it’s in extraordinarly bad taste. Immigration is a serious national security concern. A stand-up comedian can make a joke about immigration - or nuclear weapons for that matter - but that’s not something I feel comfortable hearing from a potential President.
If you ignore that gaff, and just look at the rest of the commercial: Huckabee is being flippant; I guess he’s trying to lighten up his image. Well, OK fine, but… then that means Chuck Norris’ political opinion is supposed to be the serious one? I just don’t get where they’re going with this. If Huckabee is trying to get people to take him more seriously, I’m afraid he’s really taking the wrong tack here.
Huckabee may get himself written into some “Bauer-esque” jokes now, sure. But let’s face it: Huckabee’s biggest fan knows that Chuck Norris’ tough guy image is never going to rub off on him. So this will only result in making Huckabee the butt of those jokes.

Get the nomination…, get my vote. It MUST be clear to our candidates that the real Conservatives are watching. They’d better be clear on it. I wanna see coat-tails and re-elections…!
Rugged Individual on November 19, 2007 at 1:42 AM
Lighten up, Francis.
Professor Blather on November 19, 2007 at 7:45 AM
That was just plain fun. Absolutely nothing wrong with this. As far as I’m concerned, if a person is smiling at the end of a political ad, then the mission is accomplished
leavenedbread on November 19, 2007 at 7:47 AM
Ney. Needs gawlic.
captivated_dem on November 19, 2007 at 9:25 AM
Yeah, boy howdy, closin’ the Borders! Hel*, THAT’S FUNNY!
I’m just RFLOL!
Ex-tex on November 19, 2007 at 9:42 AM
That ad was funny. No reason why we cant sit back and enjoy life for a moment or so before we get back to clawin and scratchin.
Ahhhhh
Ok back to the grindstone.
bigskinny on November 19, 2007 at 9:56 AM
I thought the ad was funny.

Chance of a guy from Arkansas named ‘Huckabee’ winning an election for ‘Leader of the Free World?’ 0%
i’ve heard so many people say that…. but why exactly? sure his name sounds a little funny, i don’t think it would be any kind of real factor…just IMHO
max1 on November 19, 2007 at 11:45 AM
Thank you, Chuck. You have taken Huckleberry off my radar completely. He was only on the periphery to begin with. I have no reason to take movie/TV actors seriously as intellectual giants. HL Mencken continues to be proven correct.
MNDavenotPC on November 19, 2007 at 1:15 PM
Words escape me! Watching the lips closely of both of them, it seems to be authentic. Wouldn’t you just love to see this resurface during a world crisis should this wannabe win? How about just before delivering a speech to the UN? Where, when, and how did he and his political machine decide this was a good idea? I thought that silly ad by Shrillery wrapping Christmas gifts was nonsensical and condenscending - this is worse.
How did this man ever come to be thought of as a serious candidate for the most powerful, demanding job on the planet?
