Mark Cuban knows exactly what he's financing. From TF Boggs at Vox Veterana who listened to Cubans' closing speech at the Blogworld Expo:

The movie was financed by a company of Cuban’s and is thus directly supported by Cuban. Cuban described the movie in his speech at Blogworld by saying “Soldiers are bored 99% of the time, this film is about what they do with the other 1%.” That statement taken to its logical conclusion means that the only time soldiers aren’t bored is when they are raping and murdering."

Perhaps this is the key to Cubans involvement with Hollywood. Cubans cash serving their purpose which is to make anti-war movies. I think I’ll wait to see what Cuban does after the movie bombs before I make any judgements.

I am confused. Cuban obviously does a lot TO support our troops. Why would he actively, or deliberately seek to be involved in a film that disgraces them? Is he confused? Is he just trying to be a movie big shot? Is he just a stupid Liberal who cannot see how an anti-military film undercuts our troops?
Has anyone here seen the film? I have not.

I live in Dallas and will not go to a Mavs game as long as Cuban owns them. It’s my (and my friends) way of boycotting this behavior towards our military.
The Stars btw salutes troop members at each game. Go Stars!

Look, Cuban is off his rocker. He likes to be conroversial and seeks out attention. I think he is good at heart, but his craziness leads him astray at times. His involvement with Redacted is disgusting, obviously. He has distanced himself from DePalma as much as he can, and obviously is disgusted with the man. He is also trying to now spin the movie as pro-troops, which is absurd, of course. I just don’t think he’s the enemy. He’s done a lot of good, and some bad. More good than bad in my opinion. Bad has been bad judgement more than bad in an evil way. Just my opinion, he could be evil incarnate.

Loose Change hasn’t been distributed anywhere. Cuban has stated numerous times that if he distributes the POS he will distribute an alternative viewpoint, like Screw Loose Change. He also said this:

“I don’t believe the movie. Not at all,” Mr. Cuban explained. “But I do believe that lies in the shadows are far more dangerous than lies you can confront and refute. There probably will be a movie that responds to this one, and we would be more than happy to distribute it as well”

He said that when the sh*t hit the fan about all this in March and he hasn’t budged from it. Loose Change hasn’t been distributed anywhere as far as I know. Still online DVD sales out of Dylan’s mom’s garage last I heard.

You’ve got it totally backwards. The messages he funds (which have devastating and long term consequences) say otherwise. His charities are PR so people like you will rationalize away the damage he’s doing.
