HamHillNation: In the belly of the beast

In which MKH lives up to her name. An interesting choice of costume here. Are the glasses merely a Clark Kent-ish nod at disguise? Are they meant to suggest that Hillary supporters are more cerebral? Or do I detect a subtle aspersion being cast upon liberals’ gender identity? Glasses are, after all, unusually overrepresented among men who look like old lesbians.

Say, is that Rhoda in the back working the form-fitting jeans? Click the image to watch.

Um, yes. To one of those.

thirteen28 on November 16, 2007 at 1:50 PM

That was just weird.

Lawrence on November 16, 2007 at 1:50 PM

Silky’s answer last night that got booed was a lot like the boss Michael Scott talking about sexism and then totally going off the wall at the end.

pedestrian on November 16, 2007 at 1:51 PM

The “smart glasses” are a great way to infiltrate liberal circles. They’re akin to foisting a faux british accent on a crowd of liberals- instant street cred. I wear glasses like these because I hate contacts and a friend of mine told me she always thought I was a liberal- “you know, because of the ’smart glasses’ and all…”

Great job, as usual MKH.

NTWR on November 16, 2007 at 1:52 PM

Plants. Ha!

amerpundit on November 16, 2007 at 1:53 PM

Wow…she can hide her conserva-hotness under a grey hoodie and catwoman longrims!

Black Adam on November 16, 2007 at 1:54 PM

“Plants” Bwahahahahaha!!!!

csdeven on November 16, 2007 at 1:56 PM

is their some under lying message her that Hilldabeast is so full of it her plants grow better ????

Mojack420 on November 16, 2007 at 1:58 PM

A plant that serves coffee? Now that’s cool.

Glasses are, after all, unusually overrepresented among men who look like old lesbians.

Yikes, this means that I’ve looked like an old lesbian since I was 12 years old.

Bigfoot on November 16, 2007 at 1:59 PM

Her deanpanning reminds me of SNL’s “schweaty balls” routine. The NPR gals were humorless ignorant dykes.

csdeven on November 16, 2007 at 1:59 PM

What is up with feminists and their quirky glasses?

terryannonline on November 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM

Wow, she even looked Democrat.

Griz on November 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM

YIKES! Had that Janene Gabarfalo or however you spell her name thing going on. The pseudo-intellectual lesbo look does not suit her. Or anyone, actually.

I think she’s clearly taking a jab at those libs that wear glasses because it “makes them look smarter”.

RightWinged on November 16, 2007 at 2:15 PM

She is so cute in glasses….

liquidflorian on November 16, 2007 at 2:17 PM

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I just did a men who look like old lesbians post. But! I also have a link to Nutshot, the blog devoted exclusively to comic frames of guys getting hit in the nards.

NTWR on November 16, 2007 at 1:52 PM

This is true, I have smart glasses and am often mistaken for one of them and invited into their conversations until I start calling them on their bullshit and making them uncomfortable. I’ll never get contacts.

Keli on November 16, 2007 at 2:20 PM

Actually, I got the comic frame site wrong, but I’m not gonna bother correcting, cuz I got an awaiting moderation last post.

Bad Candy on November 16, 2007 at 2:22 PM

Er, I got the name of the comic frame site wrong. I give up.

Bad Candy on November 16, 2007 at 2:27 PM

She’s hilarious!

CP on November 16, 2007 at 2:28 PM

She is so cute in glasses….

Yeah, gotta agree. But then again when isn’t she.

Buzzy on November 16, 2007 at 2:33 PM

I think Larry Kudlow might fit in this category.

JiangxiDad on November 16, 2007 at 2:40 PM

and Olbermann, for that matter.

JiangxiDad on November 16, 2007 at 2:41 PM

Outstanding performances all around, kudos to Kevin Glass who did a superb interpretation as “The Plant”. BTW, MKH couldn’t hide her hotness behind a mere pair of glasses.

kevcad on November 16, 2007 at 2:52 PM

Cute.

Spirit of 1776 on November 16, 2007 at 3:07 PM

Mary Katherine is fiiinnnneeee!!!

I’ve still got that table at Ruth’s Chris on permanent reserve for when you’re ready, MK.

peacenprosperity on November 16, 2007 at 3:08 PM

MKH was so cute when she got spooked, I’m going to have to increase my stalking hours on her. ;:- )

abinitioadinfinitum on November 16, 2007 at 3:11 PM

I’ve still got that table at Ruth’s Chris on permanent reserve for when you’re ready, MK.

Nah, I have a table waiting at Tommy’s, uber-lib vegan-friendly hipster hangout in the artsy section of town where you’ll wait for an hour in a cloud of secondhand patchouli for a faux-grilled cheese.

P.S. Wear the glasses.

saint kansas on November 16, 2007 at 3:14 PM

She didn’t a really good imitation of Pam from the Office. Spot on.

saltydogg14 on November 16, 2007 at 3:15 PM

That was HILLarious!

And whoda thunk it that the Sixties actor Thing would make a comeback?

Now I will see all of my “shrubbery” in a new light.

Thanks MKH.

JohnnyD on November 16, 2007 at 3:33 PM

Hehehehe. Music from BBC’s “The Office”. Nice.

redzap on November 16, 2007 at 3:36 PM

Funny. See? Conservatives can be funny too. I loved her deadpan of ‘it’s awesome’. Well done again.

ThackerAgency on November 16, 2007 at 4:34 PM

I always suspected Bush was firmly entrenched with the Clintons and now we have proof.

jmarcure on November 16, 2007 at 4:59 PM

Short-sightedness, maybe.

And yes, Marykatharine is the goods.

mikeyboss on November 16, 2007 at 7:25 PM

I really enjoyed the outtakes.

Helloyawl on November 16, 2007 at 7:42 PM

Good humor reinforces the farce that is She Edmund Hillary and the Zipper King – encore, encore!

T J Green on November 16, 2007 at 8:37 PM

Looking at the photo, I thought you were going to do something on multiple personality, with the glasses and all, Mary Katherine looks like Sybil, the character played in an old movie by Sally Fields.

StuLongIsland on November 16, 2007 at 9:08 PM

HillBorg, attack of the ClinClones!

Speakup on November 16, 2007 at 9:21 PM

men who look like old lesbians

Someone say Dave Foley?

MirCat on November 16, 2007 at 11:19 PM

Showing my age here, but the Ashley Banfield “little librarian glasses” thing never did anything for me. I’ve had guys under 30 tell me they think the Banfield/librarian/alternative-rock-chick look is just totally smoking hot.

Me? Not so much. But the Hamlette makes it work for her.

Ali-Bubba on November 17, 2007 at 12:03 AM

When I saw her I thought of Lisa Loeb (or is it Leob? whatever), another cute girl in glasses.

urbancenturion on November 17, 2007 at 12:51 AM

You know the left is so nearsighted (that’s why the glasses) that this bit would be approved by the Hitlery campaign if it was submitted under an alias.

MSGTAS on November 17, 2007 at 9:13 AM

urbancenturion on November 17, 2007 at 12:51 AM

All props to Lisa (it is Loeb), who may well have started the whole derned trend. She’s a cutie. And a Firecracker, I might add.

Captain Scarlet on November 18, 2007 at 12:24 AM

Those of us old enough to remember Arte Johnson would probably rate this clip “verrrrrry interestink!”
