Your logic from on high is precisely why the Republican party is falling apart in this election and losing the culture battle. For too long, the country club republicans have tried to be civil with people that have no intention of playing nice.

We are looking at $100 per barrel oil and Nationalized Health Care because the RNC has played nice. Al Gore and his minions have successfully played the RNC for fools.

George Bush is not running for office and should not give Al Gore the opportunity to legitimize his Nobel Prize.

Making nice and doing photo ops with the enemy is nothing more than rewarding your enemy with a press conference.

The “enemy?”

Sigh. Here’s a hint, friend: when your post could have been written – word for word – at DemocraticUnderground … you might want to rethink your post. And they think exactly like that.

Al Gore and his followers are not enemies – and making that statement is as childish and foolish as those who call the President “Hitler” or who call America “the world’s biggest terrorist.” Yeah. It’s really that misguided.

ManBearPig and his minions are simply immature, misguided Americans … and its our job to educate them. To teach them. To earn their trust and their votes.

The only guaranteed way to make sure other Americans don’t listen to you is to call them the “enemy.” That very same mistake is what earned moonbats their reputation and what keeps them from winning elections they should win.

With that kind of rhetoric, we become exactly what they are. No difference at all.

I know exactly who my enemy is. So should all Americans. He isn’t really that hard to spot. I’d kill my enemy, if I coud. And he’s a lot scarier than a Tennessee shyster with a pot belly and a Bell Meade mansion with an oversized carbon footprint.

And not one word of the above will get through, will it?

Nope. Never does. It doesn’t get through to the folks on the other side who call you their “enemy,” either.

And those of us with functioning brains, who manage to see the world as a little more interesting than black and white and red and blue, are left to wonder how the two sides are different, if they’re both “enemies” of other Americans.

Sigh. Thank God its Friday. I hope the babe who hands me my beer isn’t one of the “enemy.”

Exactly. Greeting Nobel Prize winners (however undeserving) is just part of Presidential protocol.

And its utterly predictable that Bush will manage to be gracious and presidential … while Gore will wind up being shrill and catty.

Although you know Dubya’s gonna be chuckling inside when ManBearPig starts slobbering with envy.

Poor Algore. He’s a no-win situation. If he speaks a few inconvenient lies to power, he’ll look like the fool he is. If he doesn’t – the moonbatatorium will howl with anger.

All Bush has to do is act like a gentleman. After all, he is the President. No matter what, Algore looks pale (and weak and flabby) standing next to him.

Then again, if I don’t see at least one smirk and a wink out of the Prez during this ridiculous photo op, I’ll be very disappointed …

It must really suck to be a liberal. They always manage to find ways to make everything suck for themselves.

It’s not Bush who’s at fault. If Gore had any balls he’d have stayed away as a protest, or out of shame. He is despicable.

He didn’t shake hands with Gore. He shook hands with the Nobel Prize winner– whomever that turns out to be.

Bush didn’t do either one, because it doesn’t happen until 26th. (The front page photo is from at least seven years ago–hint: how young Bush looks and how relatively svelte Gore looks.)

Everyone knows that Gore behaved abominably toward Bush. Everyone knows this has a foul smell about it. And yet, Bush behaved beautifully, with grace, and taught me a lot. Bush was Buddha-like– he acknowledged even a worm. I am proud of him.

You make a valid point, CP, but in the great big scheme of things, it’s President Bush’s policy capitulations that bother me far more (and are the reason I held my nose when I voted in 2004) than making nicey-nice with some bloated has-been liberal nutjob.

If we’re going to crusade on Bush’s shortcomings, let’s pick our battles.
