Video: Rick Sanchez has a fee-vah and the only prescription is more McCain “bitch” video

Say what you will, but watching him melt down nightly over this has made for some superb television. If you want a scare segment on Internet creeps, you watch the Factor; if you want nutroots vaudeville, you watch Olby. If you want a man in the grip of an almost Sullivanesque political neurosis, you turn it to CNN, baby, and just groove on it with Sanch.

Here we find the nuance in full flower: not only is Rick himself comfortable with the word “bitchy,” he giggles along merrily as Stephanie Miller drops the B-bomb later in the show. The vagaries of when “bitch” is and isn’t permitted are left unclear, although unlike with racial slurs, hostile intent does seem to be required. Either that or the speaker — or, rather, listener — has to be running for leader of the free world. If you want the west’s greatest nuclear arsenal at your disposal, it seems, you had best be prepared to step to some ill-mannered voter spouting profanity you might hear in a middle-school schoolyard.

You’ll be happy to know this was culled from fully 13 minutes of discussion. For dessert, here’s Gibby batting him around on yesterday’s radio show; even Howard Kurtz, who shares a network with Sanchez, thinks he’s off the deep end. Exit question: Sanchez is bumped tonight due to the Democratic debate, but does he dare come back with another segment on this on Friday night? The odds stand at 3-1.

Dirty Sanchez, would your head exploded if McCain just came out and dropped the C-Bomb on her?

liberrocky on November 15, 2007 at 10:34 AM

Bwahaha you must know of his reputation, bbz.

Hey Rick, instead of wasting time of this non-story, how ’bout investigating the anti-war protestors who’re now aiding and abetting the enemy by pouring concrete on the railroad tracks used to transport equipment to our Troops?

Tony737 on November 15, 2007 at 10:35 AM

Video froze 30 seconds in… Thank you Lord!! Hate to see a grown man whine.

I am convinced that he plays for the pink team.. not that there is anything wrong with that… some of my best friends play for the pink team…

… alright, none of my friends play for the pink team, the Dirty Sanchez does though.

Jared_MA on November 15, 2007 at 10:38 AM

Gobsmackingly vile.

Bryan on November 15, 2007 at 10:39 AM

Sanchez is trying desperately to be a liberal copy of Bill O’Reilly. He even adopts all of O’Reilly’s mannerisms. Last night or the night before (Can’t recall) he even had on as a guest a left wing member of the New York City Council, who is a frequent guest of O’Reilly. The council member can be counted on to lose his temper, say imflammatory things about the NYPD and interrupt is debating opponent. That is why he is always popular on cable television. Obviously, Sanchez watched the guy on O’Reilly and decided to steal O’Reilly’s gig. If that were not bad enough, Sanchez ended the debate by sayin “I’ll give you the last word”. That is O’Reilly’s signature line. I wonder if Sanchez will now start a body language segment.

Larraby on November 15, 2007 at 10:41 AM

Just saw that “leader of the free world” comment. Hilarious! He laughed at the B word, he therefore cannot possess good judgment! hahahaha….what a hyperventilating moron!

kcluva on November 15, 2007 at 10:43 AM

Okay, that’s just comedy gold right there. Sanchez asserts repeatedly that it’s simply unacceptable to allow the “B-word” to be applied to any woman, and that it’s a mark of McCain’s flawed judgment that he let it slide. Then, when Sanchez’s female guest asserts that the hair and make-up people at CNN routinely call her a bitch, Sanchez replies, “Maybe it’s something about you.” Fan-frickin-tastic!!! Hypocrisy, thy name is Rick Sanchez!

Rick Sanchez: Doing the whining Hillary won’t can’t do.

I guess that depends on how b*tchy she is tonight.

fogw on November 15, 2007 at 10:49 AM

Sound as if Sanchez is trying for a show on MSNBC

KBird on November 15, 2007 at 11:03 AM

Maybe Sanchez is really a Laura Ingraham fan and is simply taking her advice to complain about what he finds offensive in an effort to preserve our culture.

aero on November 15, 2007 at 11:07 AM

Sanchez is going to do a show Friday about the names the ‘Sitting President’ has been called, followed by apologies.

Wade on November 15, 2007 at 11:15 AM

B words are news unless it is Buckwheat.

CommentGuy on November 15, 2007 at 11:23 AM

This is pretty b*tchy …..

On December 10, 1990, Sanchez struck a pedestrian, Jeffrey Smuzinick, with his car on a residential street near Dolphin Stadium after Smuzinick allegedly darted into the road.[2] Smuzinick, who was inebriated at the time of the incident, was paralyzed and a few years later died from his injuries.[2] Sanchez, who had just left an NFL football game, was not charged with causing the accident, but was charged with and pleaded no contest to DUI.

Translation: One drunk killed another drunk.

Oh and that McCain fellow, he’s pure evil for not condemning what someone else said. Right Ricky?

I don’t know, but in my book a dead guy trumps a bad word.

aero on November 15, 2007 at 11:07 AM

Heh!

This guy really is a weirdo though. At least the topics that Laura decides to rant about are serious topics that are at least worthy of debate and discussion. Whether you fall to the political left of Laura or the right I think most will agree that what she chooses to talk about is at least worthy of discussion. Sanchez, on the other hand, is attempting desperately to turn a nothing story into a political earth shaking bombshell. What’s next? Is he going to dig a line out of a Law and Order episode and try to pin Fred down for not refusing to say some word in the script? This guy is completely detached from reality. I guarantee every voter who saw that video chuckled at the funny old woman using the word bitch. Sanchez cannot see this as unserious though and as a result he himself becomes unserious.

bj1126 on November 15, 2007 at 11:37 AM

well, if you’re used to seeing Hillary in action, it would make sense to blame McCain for the text of the questions someone else asked of him…

Oddly, I think Rick doesn’t understand… So Rick. Not everyone plants questions, some of them answer questions that other people think of all on their own.

Not your candidate, but you know, some of the other ones.

gekkobear on November 15, 2007 at 11:37 AM

Lucky there’s no “Fairness Doctrine” or the networks would have to spend the next 10 years running stories 24/7 about shocking Bush epithets uttered by Liberals!!!

You’re talking about NYC councilman Charles “I want to go up the nearest white person and smack em just for my mental health” Barron. He is a gauranteed button-pusher and bomb-thrower. But he is not a frequent guest on Oreilly. In fact I don’t know when I saw him on Oreilly last, if ever. He usually shows up on Cavuto and in local NY news briefs.

Either way, your argument is weak. All of these shows are the same. Why are you so on Oreilly’s junk?

Quite honestly, if John McCain had handled the situation more assertively we wouldn’t be talking about this. By the way did you hear that his campaign actually demanded an apology from Rick Sanchez? PUH-LEEZE!

I can’t stand when Republicans overlook our own problems to complain about some useless liberal. My parents didn’t like when I tattled on my sister to deflect my own punishment. I grew out of that when I was about 9.

John McCain should have shown more respect to another U.S. Senator and colleague. Rick Sanchez sucks, but he’s not running for President, is he?

Rick Sanchez is a bitch. There.

I’m still not clear on whom the questioner was referring to when she referred to “the bitch”. Was it Hillary or Edwards?

Rick Sanchez is a bitch. There.

I’m sorry, but I can’t allow you to say that - otherwise, I’d be just as bad as Maverick : )

I wouldn’t want to have a “leader of the free world” who WAS afraid to use the word Bitch.

That was my sentiments exactly. They act so holier than thou as though people elected should be off limits while they spew the most awful vile remarks toward Bush and expect to get applauded for it.

I for one am glad Sanchez is doing this. This is some of the best press McCain has gotten this whole political season. Why would primary voters not like this episode? He gets to say over and over again on that clip that he’s ahead of Clinton in the polls. Maybe McCain is paying Sanchez to act this way.

ThackerAgency on November 15, 2007 at 1:21 PM

Sanchez imbibed, Smuzinick died!

James on November 15, 2007 at 1:33 PM

We did draw our own conclusion to this. McCain spoke the truth and it was how he felt. Why condemn a statement you agree with? Why don’t you go after the fruitcake lady that said the comment?
Funny that he didn’t gain a lot of support from his guests on this issue.
“If I were John McCain, I would_________”

“call her a b*&%$ again!

RMCS_USN on November 15, 2007 at 1:39 PM

Give the guy a break, he desperately needs rating to stay on the air so he is desperately trying to gin up some buzz.
Hear that Sanchez, thats the 15 minute clock ticking.

RobCon on November 15, 2007 at 1:42 PM

Wow, Jack “constapated” Cafferty on CNN has some company in the hit and run department.

RobCon on November 15, 2007 at 1:49 PM

This guy is so far out he is hard to believe. Of course most of us have probably never heard of him since we don’t watch those programs. I guess it is a desperate bid for attention.

For his next “gig” I recommend a full segment about the people in Sidney, Australia telling their Santa’s to use Ha Ha Ha instead of Ho Ho Ho.

duff65 on November 15, 2007 at 2:08 PM

If the “bitch” lady (as in, the lady who used the word — I’m sure she’s lovely) donated money to McCain’s campaign, should McCain give it back? She’s like the Alex Jones of calling first ladies bitches, right?

Mark Jaquith on November 15, 2007 at 3:01 PM

You’re equating 9/11 revisionism with schoolyard profanity?

Allahpundit on November 15, 2007 at 3:02 PM

Dirty Sanchez is simply trying to make a name for himself in the Olberdouche mode…

Jaibones on November 15, 2007 at 3:12 PM

Sanchez is trying desperately to be a liberal copy of Bill O’Reilly. He even adopts all of O’Reilly’s mannerisms.

I agree 100% about the O’Reilly wannabe nature of this insufferable lout…. except for your implication that O’Reilly is somehow a conservative.

O’Reilly is neither a conservative nor a liberal — he appears to me to be simply picking and choosing positions with no logical connection that he thinks will help his image.

sanantonian on November 15, 2007 at 8:06 PM

Why can’t we call a spade a spade. She is a b*tch and Sanchez is an A$*&hole.
