The Left's biggest problem with us is that we are confident in our convictions and selfless, while THEY are wishy-washy and selfish. I love how it drives them nuts just to see one of us demonstrating the courage of our convictions.

the enlightened moonbat, 20% of whom allegedly “very often” enjoy programming that runs counter to their personal philosophies

Heh.
'enjoy' is not the word that comes to mind when I picture a lib exposing themselves to something that runs counter to their philosophies!

What a screwed poll. It was off as far as I'm concerned in so many ways.

It is an important role of government to regulate morality.
Red-35.2 Purple-29.7 Blue-4.9
Government is too involved in regulating morality.
Red-64.8 Purple-70.3 Blue-95.1

What I find interesting is they feel the need to emphasize the "correct" answer for each group. You'll notice even though both Red and Blue had a vast majority for government staying out of morality, Zogby felt the correct conservative answer was it's government's role.

Favorite movies: foreign.

Downside: gotta sit in the art theatre w/ patchouli-smelling, peasant-skirted libs who denounce George Bush in the attached coffeehouse after le film. Thank goodness for DVD.

Favorite music: Rap, techno and jazz, equally. Don't EVEN ask me to choose!

Oh, and conservatives read A LOT more than libs IMO.

Polls are stupid. Thatisall.

Fantasy shows usually avoid the media biases. Heroes, Journeyman, and Pushing up Daiys avoid current political themes.

I avoid Doctor and Cop shows entirely.

My Name is Earl and The Office might slip some lib politics in, but at least they have the creativity to be humorous about it.

Reading books is poor time management. If it’s interesting, it will be made into a movie.

I’ll take 2 hours over 20 hours any day of the week.

I’m intellectually shallow like that.

They only time I listen to classical music is when my LIBERAL wife plays it on the radio. Otherwise, I like prog rock (ELP, King Crimson, Genesis, Yes, Umphrey's Mcghee). I guess that is classical in a weird rock and roll kind of way.

They think that fictional TV shows and movies are politically biased,

They are.

..and they believe they can predict a person’s politics if they know the person’s entertainment preferences.

You can.

Hmm, I certainly agree on movies, but not TV. Cable networks like Comedy Central and MTV have an obvious liberal bent, but can you name 3 prime-time network tv shows that are politically biased? I watch relatively a lot of tv shows and not one of them is liberal biased. If it were, I'd stop watching (e.g. Boston Legal).

And what exactly does "entertainment preferences" mean?

A duty is something you do not because you neccessarily want to but because it is your obligation. For Jews, Catholics, Muslims, and perhaps some liberal Protestant denominations, that is the teaching. For conservative Protestantism there is grace and not works. James says that a faith that is not giving is a dead faith, but that doesn't mean that giving out of a sense of duty changes that nature of your faith.

The commandment is to love your neighbor, which does not always imply giving them cash. Corinthians is clear that in some cases the best thing is to hand them over to Satan to see the error of their ways. But certainly in most cases, if you love someone you will aid them whether you have been told to or not.

A lot of those splits make me shake my head. If you’re Christian, you should feel its your duty to help the less fortunate.

Just not with other people’s money.

I thought the attending church was the most interesting. Maybe that's why AP told us not to look at page 2 of the data. Atheists are 4 times as likely to be liberal as conservative. 50% of conservatives go to church weekly or more, compared to 20% for liberals.

The question about duty to help those less well off was also interesting. Nearly all the liberals said so, and about half of conservatives. The other half would have understood it to be an act of compassion rather than duty. The well known fact that red-states give more to charity shows us which of duty or compassion is more effective.
