resolute you completely miss Laura’s point if you think she is saying we should be “the society of perpetual outrage…” She has simply had enough of the self-evident bashing of traditional culture. That’s a bit different from liberals constant complaints about imagined losses of freedom. What was Whopdiedoo even talking about when she said she felt less free now than when she was a child? Her feelings are just that. She’s as free now ore more so in America than anyone anywhere ever. Period. You confuse righteous anger with perpetual outrage? You may be resolute, but you are also absurd.

It is to bad Whoopi could not construct her thoughts into a coherent argument instead of just sort of fling ideas out and see what sticks. If she did, I think she actually has the foundation there to skewer Laura’s idea that we should become the society of perpetual outrage. I hear Laura critcise Islam and liberals for this and then she goes and writes a book saying american concervatives should do the same. Go figure.

I think Behar has shown herself over and over again to be an idiot. I was more impressed by Laura Ingraham than I expected. I bought her last book because I thought her use of the title (giving power back to ordinary people) was a terrific idea. The book is so poor that I stopped reading about 1/3 of the way through. And I usually force myself to finish any book I start.

it is amazing that even in the sixties the African Americans felt enslaved.

The Rush Limbaugh affiliate in my hometown used to (mid-’90s) follow up Rush’s show with Local Liberal Guy to counter the “Round Mound of Sound.”

But even he would choke when a regular caller, Cranky Elderly Black Woman, would call in and claim that blacks were still literally enslaved. And by literally, I literally mean literally.

“No, come on, ma’am, you don’t mean that.”

“Yes, I do, Barry. We’re slaves! Slaves, Barry!”

Because that would mean they have to take care of themselves and they are afraid to cut the apron strings or umbilical cords.

Agreed, two washed up comics who are trying to make politics funny is ironic. You can make a joke about the actions of a politician, but there is not anything funny about the concept of saying what’s on your mind and telling it directly to the offending party.

I do not know what has mellowed out Ms. Walters, but to have an employee (Whoopie {cushion sit on it}) tell her to shut up is a sign of great disrespect and anthem to Whoppies’s claim that the phrase “Power to the People” is rightfully owned by her culture, under the guise they were trying to break free from slavery. As an original Hippie of that period living in S.F and familiar with the Panther movement, it is amazing that even in the sixties the African Americans felt enslaved. Slavery had been banned since Lincoln.

Obviously, victimization is how special interest group leaders do not want their follower to be or feel free. Because that would mean they have to take care of themselves and they are afraid to cut the apron strings or umbilical cords.

Actually, the modeling thing would have been a great opportunity for her poke fun at it: do a mock modeling walk and pose, stick her finger down her throat, imitate that empty-headed beauty contestant, etc. Just sayin’, I know I’m not on tv/the best-selling author/the radio host.
