Benaiah and canopfor, you’re overcoming every day. You are special for who/how you are and the actions had nothing to do with you. It’s hard indeed. My mom died of cancer when I was 13 and I miss her desperately, but mostly quietly. Moments like these remind me how hard it often is for others. Only reason I watched the CMA was to catch one more glimpse of “The Eagles.” Henley needs to lose about 30lbs. but the rest were great. Pure honey harmony.

Not a fan of country – but everytime I’m driving back to Texas “from wherever” I somehow manage to find a radio station that helps me feel where I’m headed. Otherwise, it’s flamenco guitar, classical, slow jazz, or alternative.

Ms. Underwood is sheer talent in any language. Didn’t get the least bit upset when the significant other did a slow held breath when she came on. Compare it to the sound of a jett engine kicking to life.

On country music, I’m with Bryan, and a few others here. Could listen to some of it, if I didn’t have to hear the words. Too schmaltzy.

Agree with those of you who like it for traditional reasons; don’t get mad.

I don’t like 99% of country music and the most “country” I get it usually the Eagles or Lynyrd Skynyrd. Still, as I said way up top in the thread, this is a very moving song.

I’ve seen her do that song and explain what it’s about on The View (of all places!) so I knew what was going on during the Awards show. I wondered if the audience knew because that takes alot of courage everytime she sings it. So heartbreaking. God, the things people do to their kids emotionally just leaves me sick. If you are reading this and haven’t touched base with your kids recently, why not reach out even if you can’t expect a good outcome. Just try.

When I was a kid growing up in Wyoming, FM was a new kind of thing and there weren’t any FM stations outside of Casper. We had one AM station, and it was called town/and/country. They’d play one rock song and then one country song. I knew all the artists from both genres.

So I still like good old country. I like rock and roll. I like some of the country crossovers. I like symphony. I can’t stand C-rap.

Anyhoo, Bryan, just appreciate it for what it is. Not for what you want it to be or not to be. It grows on you if you personalize it a little.
