Silky: I’m really more a clone of Obama than Clinton

Lawyer John Edwards became Southern senator by pitching himself as a centrist. His senate record is mostly centrist. He voted for the Iraq war and was even know in the run-up to be one of its better advocates among the Democrats.

Now he’s a screaming nutrooter. And evidently he has no interest in being a Veep candidate one more time, because he’s casting himself as the electable populist radical.

Edwards seems to be saving his artillery for Hillary, and sought in Des Moines today to minimize the distance between himself and Obama.

“The differences between Sen. Clinton and myself are much more dramatic than the differences between Sen. Obama and myself,” he told reporters in Des Moines.

Perhaps Edwards is tacking left just to help blow up the SS Hillary?

Edwards seems to be saving his artillery for Hillary,

He better load up with some live ammo. Up until now he’s been shooting blanks.

A Stepford Wife is probably more accurate.

If you could cross Silky with a cat, it would be to the benefit of Silky, but to the detriment of the cat.

Edwards best chance was to run as a southern alternative to Obama and hillayr. He threw that away to try and run as the most liberal of the group.

BTW quick question when was the last non southern Democrat elected President ? That should cause the dems some pause

Or he has laid his battery 3200 mils out.

Not a bad strategy, actually.

If Hillary is a somewhat vunerable frontrunner (nobody likes her). The distant third throws his lot in supporting the Number two’s view of the world. If the “rat” public starts thinking in terms of an Edwards/Obama ticket because Hillary is deemed problematic, the next logical thought is the order of the ticket and Edwards has more “gravitas.”

I’m going to take a stab at this,Dodd and Biden
made idiot comments, and now Silky.I said this morning
on a different thread if it was possible that Liberals
could make a trifecta, and I could be wrong, but it looks
like the Liberal’s have made three idiot comments within
twenty-four hours.

The clip illustrates Edwards living out his career as a silver-tongued opportunist, first as a lawyer and now as a politician.

I expect that Silky will have a coiffing “accident” very soon.

True. Hillary is too macho to be a metro-man

I was thinking he is more a clone of Dolly or maybe Dolly of him. What say you?

We must never underestimate the power of the poll. Especially in this, the era of POLLitics.

Edwards doesn’t know what to do. Obama runs as the first African-American candidate for president with a serious chance of winning (Neither Jackson or Sharpton was a serious candidate). Hillary Clinton runs as the first woman candidate with a serious chance. Edwards wants to have a similarly “heroic” narrative. But when he can say about his own background? I am yet another White WASP candidate with tons of money running for president? So he as to veer far to the left and get enablers like Chris Matthews to repeat the exaggerated story of Edwards supposedly impoverished childhood. And in the Democratic Party, that will always be trumped.
