Is Obama placing the Hsu stories in the press?

Barack, you magnificent…

Barack Obama’s presidential campaign “scored a significant hit” against chief rival Hillary Rodham Clinton “by helping to place” a story about tainted Democratic donor Norman Hsu, according to an article about Obama in the December issue of The Atlantic.

The story, titled “Teacher and Apprentice” by associate editor Marc Ambinder, describes how Obama campaign staffers were “frustrated” because the press was not covering Clinton “in the way they expected it would.”

“…And at a campaign event in Iowa, one of Obama’s aides plopped down next to me and spoke even more bluntly. He wanted to know when reporters would begin to look into Bill Clinton’s postpresidential sex life,” Ambinder writes.

The story points out both that Hsu donated to Obama’s campaign as well as Hillary’s, and that the Obama campaign denies having any involvement in placing the Hsu story.

But they would deny it, wouldn’t they. It doesn’t fit in well with the “new kind of politics” meme. Ambinder stands by his accounts.

My take: If Obama is bringing Hsu to the media’s attention, he’s performing a public service.

Meanwhile: Bill Clinton compares immigration enforcement advocates to…al Qaeda? They’re getting desperate in Hillaryland.

Well it was bound to happen. We’ve been holding our breath expecting and hoping that the Dems would nominate Hillary.

We hope against hope that the dirty Dems, wouldn’t do what politicians always do – devour their own. The debate was just too much fun for the Dem contenders, for us, and (dun dun dun duh) the press.

This will only ramp up, as they team up to destroy Hillary. Our best hope is that they show the usual lack of restraint and go so far as to upset their own supporters.

The far Left is so loony – who can predict their reaction. Perhaps they will toss in a third part candidate (Green), or give Kucinich a boost (good for us).

The worse case scenario would be a total collapse of Hillary’s campaign early (where does the money go?). Should they pound her with ever increasing hostility, and leak some Dem secrets all the way to the convention – bingo.

Allow me to write the Clinton campaign press response.

Senator Obama is running a negative campaign. – Howard Wolfson

Too bad Senator Obama will never have a postpresidential sex life. – Jay Carson

Obama campaign staffers were “frustrated” because the press was not covering Clinton “in the way they expected it would.”

Where have they been for the last two decades?

But when you are the Messiah, you expect Hosannas, and the path to be strewn with palms and rose petals. I have the streets lined with worshipping devotees crying Hosanna, where are the palms?

The Clintons got lucky in the 90s – the Internet wasn’t nearly as influential in politics as it is in recent years, so their obsessive compulsive need to manage the media surrounding them was easier to pull off; now that Hillary is running, they’re learning the hard way that no matter how hard they try to reign in the media coverage around them, they will ultimately fail thanks in large part to the Internet (and this when the mainstream media is doing everything in its power to put Hillary in the White House.)

Obama seems to know this, and he’s using it to his advantage. He knows he will never in million years become Hillary’s VP nomination, because for her to truly stand out in the history books, she needs to be the only “First” on the platform (first woman president; with Obama as VP, she shares that “First” with the first black vice president).

So, the gloves are off. He’s going to do everything he can to tear her down completely. This is just one example of that.

Its the same old tired Democratic ploy. They are screaming “Racism” because people arent happy about illegal immigration.

I disagree. I would rather be submitted to the oafish blundering of an inexperienced President Obama than allow Hillary Clinton to get even to the general election.

She may be unelectable, but I don’t want to have to bet the country on it.

Campaign spokesman Phil Singer said in a statement: “In the minute-to-minute media cycle we live in, we believe it is critical to correct the record in real time with as many lies as we can get people to believe. That’s a big part of our strategy… put five or six lies out there and hope for the best. More than likely the mainstream media will latch on to one of them and promote that tale till it sounds like the truth.” Hillary was unavailable for comment.

I think it’s a mistake to think that any post presidential hanky panky of Bill’s is going to hurt Hillary. It may help.

The American public does not want to know. Let’s stick to the corruption, lying, and socialism with Hillary.

The Zipper King is proving to be more liability than help.

One consistent Clinton Family characteristic has been their shameless rejection of an aide-de-camp when it suits their immediate needs. Would Hill trade a divorce for the White House?

He wanted to know when reporters would begin to look into Bill Clinton’s postpresidential sex life

Is this the Ron Rosenbaum “I heard a rumor about a sex scandal but I’m not telling you who it is” story from a week or two ago?

Clinton hurt the Military and Intel during his presidency and we still havent caught up

William Amos on November 9, 2007 at 11:17 AM

I don’t care who does what, how they do it, or when. But we’re facing the reality of that Ice Bitch and her moronic husband being back in the White House for eight more years. All of the top liberals need to be exposed now since all we’re going to be left with for conservative candidates are not attractive enough to pull any independents/undecideds in their direction.

In the Chicago Sun-Times (linked) article, it states “…Clinton returned about $850,000 in donations linked to Hsu.”
1. When did this happen? 2. To whom did they “return” the money? To the illegal bundler, Hsu, or to the “straw donors” who by definition are fake/illegal, therefore refunds would be returned to the campaign???? 3. I know they first said they were going to return the money and then said it would be donated to charity. Is there a verifiable way to track this money?

OT: 8:24PM: The Mustache-Spitter is on BOR claiming he’s had serial stalkers after his irresistibleness. Delusions of grandeur much?
