For those who are concerned about this show being anti-war or whatever, IT’S WAR PEOPLE! Not an enjoyable experience last I checked. Yes, they pretty much all understood how important their job was but at the same time, like any soldier during war I imagine they don’t like people trying to kill them from the shadows and are rightfully frustrated by the experience. They’re the ones who are going through this war every day and they’re expressing what they feel is all which often times isn’t joyful and happy.

Listen up everyone ! ! Be careful with the “History Channel” and the “Discovery Channel”. They generally follow the BBC guidelines and promote hidden far left ideas and/or assuptions. I, too, enjoy some, repeat some(read few)of their programs.
In regards to the “Blogger” show, RIGHT !… I think it would be a true blogger show, if it had a wide assortment of bloggers. It seems to me, that just about all of the bloggers had a gripe and were cherry-picked to give a hint of resentment about the war in Iraq as being less then honorable. I could be wrong. However, when I watched the program, I had that heavy, sinking feeling that I was being decieved.

labwrs, yeah they almost made it seem like we were losin’ the war. Somehow that seems to sell better than showin’ our guys kickin’ jihadi azz. I would think a positive show would get better ratings, but then again you never see a reporter at the airport filming airplanes and saying “This plane landed safely today, so did that one and that one, oh and this one did too. Nothing happened at the airport today. Back to you, Bob.” However, good news in a WAR zone IS something happening, I think people would like to see a positive story on THC, and they do, just watch “Dog Fights” and “Shootout” for example.

lost interest halfway into it. It really didn’t reveal anything new after the first commercial break — yeah, the Internet has revolutionized communication; I get that. But they kept repeating the same theme.

I could not agree MORE. It seemed to be really skewed towards the the negative. I didnt see anything uplifting or positive. The emphasis on blogs from 2003-2005 were not really representative of the whole picture. And when they featured the guy who said the entire thing was so Americans wouldnt still have to pay $2.95 (or close) for gas, it seemed so very dated.
I thought it was not a good show at all. Not well done and with a definite point of view that was supposed to be portrayed. Many of the stories were poignant and moving, more were political and obscure.
War blogs? Where was Michael Yon? Blackfive?, etc…seems to be cherry picked to portray the message History Channel wanted to present which was negative.

It would have been much more interesting to explore how some particular milbloggers provided a perspective on a siguation that you didn’t get from the MSM.

shooter, I think you summed it up pretty well. I also caught the war for gas and nothing else comment, at which point I was hoping it wasn’t going to turn into an anti war/Bush slash job. That one comment could have been left out. IMHO

I really want to hear all of your thoughts here…including Bryan, Michelle and AP. ( ok and you too CW)
While I did think it an interesting program, it felt like a 60 minute infomercial to me. Glances at content but no real substance…a teaser for those who know not what a blog is.
I recognized two names, maybe only one really…
So, what was this show?

(I AM relieved & grateful it did not bash Pres Bush, or latch onto any other lefty talking points, just the one tiny mention of gasoline by the one real photographer{bummer})

Missed it ’cause of work but I’ll catch the rerun. Also, there’s an excellent book titled “The Blog Of War”, written by active duty war bloggers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Highly recommended.
